Ripon market place branch staff we're so helpful and friendly. I much appreciated them replacing a tiny screw that hold a varifocal into the frame. Without my glasses I'd be literally lost. Thank you so much

Have just visited your newly refurbished Westbourne branch and wonder whoever designed the layout. It is not customer friendly - there is nowhere for customers to sit whilst waiting for appointments. As Westbourne is full of old people I would have thought this would be a priority. There is now only one station where customers can sit opposite a member of staff when choosing new glasses. There is a lot of wasted space in the middle of the shop serving no purpose. Grateful for comments

Mildenhall shop phone and cancel appointments with lame excuses have use Newmarket before without issues but Mildenhall are offer poor service. Won't be using Scivens again.

Disgusting service arrived at 12 55 for a 1pm appt at 1 10pm l was told l couldn't be seen as previous appt was taking longer and that they would be at least another 20mins as a nhs patient and they say you are tied to them for 3yrs from first appt they think it gives them the right to treat you like this l do not think so

the branch we used in Peacehaven the staff were very good and friendly but thats the best it got me and my wife ordered glasses and cos over £1000 for each pair and they are rubbish the clear vision doesn't go to the end of the lens so when driving they are far to dangerous to wear as when you mvoe your head the blurriness on the edges blocks out more as you move your head to make it even worse i couldn't find my prescription so requested a copy by email I didn't hear anything for a few months so i resent my email to be told sending my eye prescription was a security risk!!!!! never ever have I heard so much rubbish in all my life i contacted head office who eventually said they'd send it to me but at my risk!!! I'd stay well away from this company and use someone else

I can NOT recommend Scrivens in Cheadle Staffs or the customer services. Terrible experience, bad service, I was never given my prescription, my glasses were uncomfortable, they tried to alter yet couldnt and didn’t want to know or help. Took a month to sort out. Don’t waste your time or money on this company.

I had a hearing test in March 2024 and advised to get wax removed, contacted GP who put me on list and eventually had wax removed 25-6-24. I rang local branch and advised that they would have to get head office approval, since then so I guess Head office have not approved it. Robby in Peacehaven

Trying to complain is a. Nightmare !!!! My 82 mother has been charged £ 82 pounds for reading glasses that she could get for £ z5.00 from a supermarket

Very disappointed with the audiology service provided at your Heanor branch. You have failed to deliver your contracted NHS service. Terrible aftercare and a product that is not working but you will not address this. Staff shouting at an elderly customer in store is not acceptable. I’d suggest others find an alternative provider

I foolishly gave them a second chance after they let me down on delivery of the glasses I needed before I went on my trip. I thought they would be extra careful to be on time and extra efficient this time. The staff are offering some pathetic and lazy excuses blaming the manufacturer, delivery service and their 10 working days maximum delivery policy. The 10 days were taken to the fullest and passed, and the staff giving lame excuses just have no idea what the customer service is about. I would have done my utmost to deliver after the first time bodged service, not sip my tea and keep my chair warm. How do they survive in this competitive world, I have no idea and I hope they will not. They don't deserve your custom, your time or your money. Go elsewhere.

When I enquired in the shop if these aids had Bluetooth I was told they did have but when I was fitted with them I was told there was no Bluetooth so I returned them to the store. Most disappointed at being told untruth.

Terrible service from Scrivens in Didcot. Paid over £400 for varifocals that never gave my mum good sight. They would not offer a refund. She went in to Specsaver and they provided a prescription and glasses that provide excellent vision, with no problem, at half the price. My mum’s 79 and her experience was most terrible with Scrivens. I’d suggest avoid at all costs whatsoever.

Transferred to Scrivens from local hospital Audiology department for new hearing aids, old aids had a function for tinnitus sufferers which was very good. Scrivens do not supply hearing aids with a tinnitus function and when I asked to be referred back to hospital audiology department was told I had to deal with them for the next 3 years and couldn’t go anywhere else. Avoid being transferred to them if you can.

I have been a loyal customer for many years. The staff at the local store in Sheffield are lovely. But lately the service from the central labs is very poor indeed. There have been numerous delays in delivery times despite the promise to deliver before we went away in 4weeks. The second pair order has been changed repeatedly with added charges and I am still waiting to receive them. This is despite the store assistant calling the lab directly to confirm in front of us. Their service is not competitive either in comparison to other high street ones. Most disappointed.

A letter was sent to my 88 year old uncle to complete a questionnaire re his hearing aids he has no computer knowledge and limited use of his mobile) he has tried to phone helpline several times with no success. Should not a letter be the more obvious choice of contacting this gentleman !

My 86 yr old mother in law used the Peterborough branch for a hearing test in April.She was told that on the follow up appointment they would talk her through how to get hearing aids via the NHS, this was not the case!!! Told that the NhHS wait time would be at least 9 months and was promptly sold all singing all dancing hearing aids that connect to Bluetooth etc ( she only ever puts her mobile on to make a phone call). at s cost of £2500. No mention of what would happen if she lost them, ie having to add to home insurance, or follow up after care packages. We cancelled the order but she received a follow up phone call saying that she should have taken someone with her and the audiologist was very upset that she had cancelled the order.!!! We felt that she was taken advantage of and sold hearing aids inappropriate for her needs. She has since got a NHS appointment mid May. 6 weeks NOT the 9 months she was scared into believing.

Saw you in 2002 was fail to bo told I ve cataracts I will be sending an email to you head office as a should have been taking precautions to avoid this condition becoming worse

Reception staff very friendly and welcoming . A very rushed eye test . I have suffered extreme dry eye for 3 years and wanted an up to date eye test for consultant . Based on lack of patience and understanding I wouldn’t trust the prescription and would not recommend. Based on good reviews I went out of area and quite frankly a waste of my time and money .

Went in today Friday rhw 26rh April my appointment was 14.15pm I was out by 15.24pm .y eyes have been burning and stinging since I got my glasses done hwae on the reading 1 I went in few days etc after receiving them they said nothing wrong with them they made ro perception. Etc I need ro go to opticians I had eys tested at I went there they said these.wear responsibility as they took on perception my eys have got worse si ce wearing them so went I. Today only to be greeted whoth hostile environment and shouted out by optician ans told nothing wrong I need eye drops what I have i told rhwm I o ly get burning ans stinging in my eyes when I wear rhw glasses I use for close work mot distance 1 also was told its my age ans my medication rude u just don't want ro admit u f up on my glasses ans bec off those I am suffering

Unlike the branch manager I was dealing with in Kentish town was so professional and helpful that's why his expertise pushed me to do business with Scrivens first time last year. So i decided to have my eye check-up again with him to book the appointment so when i called today to Kentish town branch around 6pm then Mr Daniel pickup the phone from head office with all these personal questions to clear my security without asking why i am calling this is horrible procedure they have that's why i decdied to leave this company and now i have to find some other optician because i felt extremly offended. All the questions Dan asked, are related to sell my personal information to other companies and then they will be keep calling like if i had an accident or selling me a cheap phone or so many calls like that to bother my whole day. Experience with Daniel was like i will think 100 times to call Scrivens ever again.
