Transferred to Scrivens from local hospital Audiology department for new hearing aids, old aids had a function for tinnitus sufferers which was very good. Scrivens do not supply hearing aids with a tinnitus function and when I asked to be referred back to hospital audiology department was told I had to deal with them for the next 3 years and couldn’t go anywhere else. Avoid being transferred to them if you can.

I have been a loyal customer for many years. The staff at the local store in Sheffield are lovely. But lately the service from the central labs is very poor indeed. There have been numerous delays in delivery times despite the promise to deliver before we went away in 4weeks. The second pair order has been changed repeatedly with added charges and I am still waiting to receive them. This is despite the store assistant calling the lab directly to confirm in front of us. Their service is not competitive either in comparison to other high street ones. Most disappointed.

A letter was sent to my 88 year old uncle to complete a questionnaire re his hearing aids he has no computer knowledge and limited use of his mobile) he has tried to phone helpline several times with no success. Should not a letter be the more obvious choice of contacting this gentleman !

My 86 yr old mother in law used the Peterborough branch for a hearing test in April.She was told that on the follow up appointment they would talk her through how to get hearing aids via the NHS, this was not the case!!! Told that the NhHS wait time would be at least 9 months and was promptly sold all singing all dancing hearing aids that connect to Bluetooth etc ( she only ever puts her mobile on to make a phone call). at s cost of £2500. No mention of what would happen if she lost them, ie having to add to home insurance, or follow up after care packages. We cancelled the order but she received a follow up phone call saying that she should have taken someone with her and the audiologist was very upset that she had cancelled the order.!!! We felt that she was taken advantage of and sold hearing aids inappropriate for her needs. She has since got a NHS appointment mid May. 6 weeks NOT the 9 months she was scared into believing.

Saw you in 2002 was fail to bo told I ve cataracts I will be sending an email to you head office as a should have been taking precautions to avoid this condition becoming worse

Reception staff very friendly and welcoming . A very rushed eye test . I have suffered extreme dry eye for 3 years and wanted an up to date eye test for consultant . Based on lack of patience and understanding I wouldn’t trust the prescription and would not recommend. Based on good reviews I went out of area and quite frankly a waste of my time and money .

Went in today Friday rhw 26rh April my appointment was 14.15pm I was out by 15.24pm .y eyes have been burning and stinging since I got my glasses done hwae on the reading 1 I went in few days etc after receiving them they said nothing wrong with them they made ro perception. Etc I need ro go to opticians I had eys tested at I went there they said these.wear responsibility as they took on perception my eys have got worse si ce wearing them so went I. Today only to be greeted whoth hostile environment and shouted out by optician ans told nothing wrong I need eye drops what I have i told rhwm I o ly get burning ans stinging in my eyes when I wear rhw glasses I use for close work mot distance 1 also was told its my age ans my medication rude u just don't want ro admit u f up on my glasses ans bec off those I am suffering

Unlike the branch manager I was dealing with in Kentish town was so professional and helpful that's why his expertise pushed me to do business with Scrivens first time last year. So i decided to have my eye check-up again with him to book the appointment so when i called today to Kentish town branch around 6pm then Mr Daniel pickup the phone from head office with all these personal questions to clear my security without asking why i am calling this is horrible procedure they have that's why i decdied to leave this company and now i have to find some other optician because i felt extremly offended. All the questions Dan asked, are related to sell my personal information to other companies and then they will be keep calling like if i had an accident or selling me a cheap phone or so many calls like that to bother my whole day. Experience with Daniel was like i will think 100 times to call Scrivens ever again.

Unlike the friendly and very professional staff at Scrivens, Central Milton Keynes in January 2022, the staff I saw on 8th April 2024 were professional but indifferent. No clear explanation of the results of my eye test was provided and I saw no point in asking. I had declined the hearing test by choice at the start of my appointment as my hearing is fine. In the event, I was glad I took that decision as I was happy to leave as soon as possible after the eye test. Disappointing experience.

Very bad service had received my eyes hurting very bad as optician will not tell me what's wrong and doctor send me eye hospital nhs for no reason that don't need it don't argue with .

Eyes originally tested on 24 February and it is now 6 April and I am still waiting for my sunglasses (order comprised one pair of glasses and one pair of sunglasses). The optician made an error with my original eye check and after waiting 3 weeks for my glasses (told it would be 2) I had to have my eyes retested and the glasses were returned to the manufacturer for correction. After a further 2 weeks I was told my glasses were ready but on arrival at the store (Hamstead village) I discovered that my sunglasses were not ready and nobody could tell me when they would be. I appreciate mistakes are made but I would expect an effort to be made to correct the mistake but at no time have I felt any sense of urgency from the store in putting right Scrivens error. When I complained at the poor service the manageress did apologise but seemed irritated with me (having spent over £600 with Scrivens!). Very poor service and no real effort made to put right Scrivens error quickly.

Every single time I come to Scrivens on Lea Bridge Road my appointment is late. Today I was seen 40 minutes after my appointment time and was not kept in the loop; instead I had to constantly ask “how long” and kept just being told “another 5 minutes”. Poor service as if I called up to say I was going to be 5 minutes late (as I have previously) they are quite rude and abrupt about their “timely manner”

Had bad experience at Stamford branch -my glasses arm came off and took it back -branch manager made me feel small by saying it’s impossible for it to happen?! Refused to refund -instead had to pay another £110 on top of £192 -for new frame

My 86 year old mother has had 3 appointments cancelled for her hearing test. 1 test on the actual day, 1 at 7pm the day before, the last test blaming the medical centre for cancelling. Complete lie as we contacted the centre and were told the truth. You obviously have no respect or customer integrity. Let me see you publish this feedback review.

Be very careful. lost an earpiece and bought another one from the Bearwood branch. I was informed it’ll take a maximum of 10days. Two weeks later I telephoned to see what’s happening and was told that head office is still waiting to find out which ear they need to provide!! I complained and of course nobody would take responsibility. 😡😡

My Father who is aged 86 years old rang to make an appointment for himself and my Mother . He provided the requested details for himself and made an appointment but was unable to remember the name of the GP for my mother , he advised that they have the same GP and that he he had just provided the name for his details , he couldn’t recall my Mothers mobile number but said that he could provide the landline number , this was not acceptable and my Dad was unable to make the appointment. My Father was upset that he was unable to make the appointment and advised that they would call in person into the Surgery. I am unhappy that my Father was upset and that the call handler did not make reasonable decisions bearing in mind he was speaking with a hard of hearing elderly gentleman , perhaps extra training should be given to staff.
