You ask what went wrong, very simple . The aids in spite of return and “repair “ more than once would not recharge . By trade standards I was within my rights to reject and have a refund. Scrivens would not refund a penny so my £600. was gone and I had no aids. I will never trust or trade with them again. I would likewise recommend that others do not use them either.

Literal thieves! I went in for a new eye test and advice on a new medical condition - I was charged £400 and left with unusable glasses. They couldn't even get my sunglass lens colour right, leaving them patchy & unusable

It took six weeks for my hearing aids to arrive. Upon arrival I had problems but the call centre assisted me and I wore them for three days. Since then I have experienced great difficulty getting assistance with them. I have called in to speak to them and they were too busy to speak to me. I have rung the call centre and was given an appointment in Royston, Herts when I live near Royton, Oldham. In conclusion, in the fourteen weeks I have been in the customer care of Scrivens, I have managed to wear my aids for approximately 3/4 days.

Many months ago at an appointment with a Scrivens audiologist at my local medical centre I asked him to check my ear for me as the dome on my left side hearing aid was no longer attached and I was concerned it was lodged in my ear .The audiologist immediately expressed doubt but did check my ear and said the dome was not there but there was hard wax present . After being literally deaf in one ear and periodically in some discomfort for 4 months , despite using medical grade olive oil to help disperse the wax throughout that time I consulted with a nurse whilst having a routine blood test . I asked her if she wouldn't mind checking my ear for me . She immediately advised I had a foreign object in my ear which was confirmed with a senior nurse. She was so concerned she made an appointment immediately with the ENT clinic at the nearest hospital . The missing dome was extracted a few days later !!!!!!! I emailed Scrivens customer care on 14th May and sent them a photo of the dome found in my ear . I received a response 16 days later apologising and saying the matter will be dealt with by senior management and investigated internally . Meanwhile they would post some spare tubes and domes to me . They did not arrive so I sent another email and did receive them . Eventually after much reflection on 4th October I emailed Scrivens customer care and said I felt they had failed in their duty of care and I wished to return the hearing aids and asked for a prepaid envelope in which to return them .Their response was to send me an email saying they were very sorry I had not received the tubes and domes !!!!!! On 7th October I replied and asked them why they responded in such a way to my request . As of today , 22 days later they have still not responded !!! Meanwhile I have received two letters asking me to complete a questionnaire to check whether I need any further assistance . You couldn't make it up .

Very disappointed that staff at Sutton Coldfield branch did not inform me that the hearing aids offered were not the most up to date aids that were offered by Specsavers. Would have gone there if I had known.

I was fitted with NHS hearing aids at my Drs surgery at the beginning of August 2024. At the time, when the right ear was fitted I experienced the most excruciating pain. I was utterly shocked, and found the experience and lack of compassion appalling. I was sent away with my new hearing aids and a very sore inner ear. I proceeded to have my ears checked for any hardened wax or was it infection. Nothing was evident but was recommended to use an ear spray until it settled. I tried to insert the aid on my right hand side on another few occasions with the same result. I then called Scrivens helpline and explained my dilemma. The only local appointment I could be offered was the 1st November 2024. Due to disability issues, I needed local. So this is now making my scenario a three month experience and even then my wait could be exacerbated if they are unable to replace them at my appointment. I was told when I called that there were smaller or moulded hearing aids available. Nothing was referred to this effect when I had the painful experience at the time of fitting. My ears could well have been damaged by the force used to insert them. I was then sent a feedback questionnaire to complete and a reminder that it had not been completed. I've not been able to wear them to comment so not applicable applied throughout. I'm guessing I was not referred directly to the NHS Audiology Dept. to save time and money. You can decide for yourself!

My mother purchased private hearing aids over 2 years ago, the service was amazing which makes it hard to give Scrivens any negative feedback. However, around July time, a few weeks before I paid for the Essential Care package I emailed requesting some more batteries and wax filters. All that was sent was 2 packs of filters. I assumed that because it was coming up to the 24 month mark you might have been waiting to see if we took out the care package before sending anymore. Once I had renewed and my mum had seen the HAA at our local branch I put in another request, nothing was sent. I purchased some batteries and filters myself as she was about to run out. I then emailed again a week ago asking for some to be sent, again we are still waiting, it looks like I will be having to purchase them myself again. Why do you state this comes under your Essential Care when your ignore customers requests for supplies? Edit - after sending another email yesterday, she has today received just 2x more white tips but still no batteries. Despite 3 requests, my mother has not received batteries now since March, not good enough.

Your customer sevice levels at your Havant branch need reviewing. No one person seems to have been trained in customer relationships . Staff remain seated at their desk, do not greet or direct any potential new customers . The turn around time for ear moulds is excessive at 4 / 6 weeks and i am still only able to use one of my two hearing aids due to a poor fit to my ear . The other aid falls out during any strenuous exercise. I had 20 years of excellent sevice at a local NHS Hospital and your companies appointment is a backward step.

Had an eye test in August & needed new varifocal specs which took 12 calendar days to arrive. Couldn't read through them so they went back to be remade. Two weeks later still not heard anything. Paid £277 deposit 4 weeks ago & got nothing to show for it. Thinking of moving to vision express

I have been a customer of Scruvens for a few years. I have bought both glasses and hearing aids. Today I ,for once caught the bus, to a 4pm appointment for the update of my Bernafon hearing aids. The bus was late, and obviously I arrived late, 12 minutes to be exact. I was the verbally thrown out as I through no fault of my own thrown out of the Havant branch. Not a soul was waiting, and no reason was acceptable. Disgusting.

Branch staff in Erdington are lovely. I have always received excellent service from them. However, when a problem arises, don’t expect any satisfaction from customer service at head office. After being a loyal customer for a good few years, sadly I will not be using. scrivens again

As an|NHS hearing patient Scrives have not come up to my expectations. The after service I have received has been non-existent, so much so I have now resorted to buying aids privately for the sake of my health and the difference is astonishing. I accept that NHS aids were free, but the hearing test was only satisfactory. In the 12 months that I have been fitted with aids, only batteries have been sent to me twice with no compliment slip or letter, only an envelope with the items enclosed. I have never received tubes or domes which I understood should be changed about every 3 months !! Trying to find an email address to write to them is almost impossible as telephoning is pointless. All in all I would not use them again.

I arrived for my eye test. The Optician said she might need to take a call from her Solicitor. I said ok assuming that if it happened it would take 5 or 10 minutes max. We started the eye test and about 10 minutes in she received a phone call and it was her Solicitors so she left the room. I waited over 15 minutes when a colleague came and said she would not be long. I again waited but started to loose my good will over it as I had only parked for an hour. After 22 minutes still no sign of the Optician I have never experienced anything so unprofessional. I left sad and annoyed that I had wasted my time and money. I did speak the 2 ladies on reception and told them why I was leaving. I have had no contact from the branch or apology and quite honestly I have never been treated that way before. I would not recommend the Doncaster branch after my experience and I am planning on putting a review on Facebook when I get time.

I had a hearing test at Marple Medical Centre SK6 6AB on 7th March 2024 at 1.00pm. The room in which the test took place was completely unsuitable. It was a small room off a corridor clearly used as a cupboard. It had no soundproofing, so extraneous noise from the corridor was present throughout the test and could be heard when the headphones were being worn. I am a radio drama producer by trade and used to listening to small sounds. It was impossible to distinguish corridor noise from test noise except when the headphones were being worn between test procedures. It would not be difficult to soundproof the space. In addition the test was conducted by a young person clearly recently qualified who had no 'bedside manner' whatsoever. At the end of the test she described the results and then said she was going to give me hearing aids. I refused. I would have thought the correct approach would have been to discuss the findings with Px and then offer solutions. Perhaps she gets paid on commission? Do they have targets to achieve?

Was easy booking an appointment, the tests and advice given was professionally done although had to pay £10 extra for further additional examination, including a free hearing test although i wasn't told the result so I am hoping everything is ok. The downside was very expensive glass's. I spend over £400 the employee at the Central Milton Keynes store, was like a pushy car sales person. I wish in retrospect I just asked for a copy of my prescription and said I would think about it, as ironically there was a store nearby offering frames for £79 at least Dick Turpin had the good manners to wear a mask! Still lesson learnt. At least the employee was a tad nicer than the previous one I dealt with who made a joke about a panic attack I had at a previous visit.
