“Perhaps my fault but I did not realise that the Basic butt I ordered came with a diverter, so I ordered your recommended diverter. Result: two deliveries and some unwanted plastic. The Basic tall butt has a plastic tap which looks rather flimsy and has no plinth, so quite a bit of the water volume will remain when its level falls below that of the tap! Finally, I found the rather expensive Gutter Mate diverter rather fiddly to fix, and the instructions none too helpful. I suspect I shall have to re-drill the wall to ensure all water is collected.”

“I am 64 years old widow and bought a water butt from you. It was very difficult to get out of its multiple layers of cling film and tight tape. I could not believe it was not ready for me to fit and assemble. Why are holes not pre drilled? I cannot use the product as I don’t have the tools required. Make it clear to purchasers BEFORE that it needs specialist tools”

Hi Diane, We use recyable wrap to ensure the water butt does not get damaged in transit, and the courier we use does not accept boxes for these type of water butts due to the size. The only predrilled hole is for the tap, which does not come fitted because we have had incidents where the tap gets damaged in transit (you only need to screw in the tap until fitted just tight enough). The holes are not predrilled at the top of the water butt because it gives the customer the freedom to install a diverter or linking kit, or use it as a freestanding water butt. If you were unsure, you could have dropped an email or given us a call and we would have been more than happy to assist.
