I have discovered that the water tap is not waterproof and the joint leaks. Not very good quality control after manufacture. I shall have to send it back but not sure how as it is very bulky. Not satisfied at all with the purchase. Help!
I requested advice from them but none was forthcoming and therefore ordered the wrong product but sadly had cut the hole for the downpipe before realising!

Water butt took over 5 weeks arrive and when it finally did it was obviously a returned it. Mud all over it and one side and when connected leaked from the base. Opted for refund and collection however yet to receive collection date. Very poor
Customer service is terrible phone constantly engaged to try and contact this company is a nightmare My order took a couple of days short of a month to be delivered I sent emails and got a reply to only one which gave me a maybe date. The order finally arrived and there was just a delivery note included no information or instructions and that was a problem with the gutter mate. I was supposed to get an email telling me that my order had been dispatched but that never arrived either the order just turned up. As for the items they all look ok with no apparent damage but I have not unpacked completely as yet until my patio is finished. I note really good reviews on delivery and product but these must have been submitted before the pandemic because my experience is not a good one and Waterbutts Direct should learn to keep the customer informed. We all have issues during these uncertain times.
I am doing this review based on customer service only and not the product. My order was placed on the 1/4/21 and as at the 27/4/21 no delivery and further more I have not been kept informed at all as to the progress of my order. I sent an email asking for a time window and was told as it stands delivery would be W/C 26/4/21 so there could be further delay. I have tried to contact them by telephone on more than one occasion but as other reviewers has stated the line is always busy. As with other companies why is there no recorded message stating any problems there may be. There is a total disregard here for customer satisfaction and I intend to cancel the order and seek a refund if the order has not been shipped by week end.
The waterbutt arrived with a cut in it. I sent a complaint in with a picture asking for some compensation. 12days later and no reply.

lid is cracked and the tap drips not impressed

The downpipe diverter kit is not designed for the 32 mm drill bit supplied. Washer supplied barely jams into the drilled hole with absolutely no chance of forcing the pipe in. Not sure this combination has ever bern tested together. Very unimpressed.

Finally arrived after a long wait. There was a lot of moisture in the barrel so the cardboard backing on the accessories pack had disintegrated as had the instructions. An email to the company resulted in new instructions being emailed but they are non-sensicle and in a micro-font that mean nothing to me. I have no idea what to do next, but at the moment I have a totally useless bit of plastic that I cannot fit to my square downpipe.

The item arrived damaged. No effort has been made to replace it.

Water Butt arrived with damaged lid and missing washer. Have left message several days ago and no reply yet.
Hi Simon, Apologies we haven't got back to you sooner - We have had to put alternate teams in the office in the past few weeks due to self isolating and it appears your request may of been missed. Ordered a large water butt on the 6th June , I’ve had to chase fir an up date , still waiting for it going into 4 weeks shortly , no one is answering calls. Very poor customer service

Took 3 weeks for item to arrive even then had to chase for it before it arrived from a different supplier, missing parts that should have been included. Have chased for these items every week for the last 3 and each time am told its been sent, but still no tap 6 weeks after placing the order.

Found the same water butt cheaper in a shop days after ordering it. Once it arrived I found the tap leaked so had to apply mastic around the tap to stop the leak.
