“Had my glasses (paid just under £300 for two pairs of reading glasses) didn't take out warranty because I take great care of my spectacles but this morning the full priced pair at £200 have broken after 2-3 weeks of little wear. Also was offered 10% discount on both pairs after experiencing horrendous service ( not necessarily by store staff but a combination with the lab) but this money has not been returned to my account!”

“I have been to the Weston super mare branch as my sister recommended them for their good old fashioned customer service. And she was right. Very attentive, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The manager was very fair to me when I did not get on with my chosen glasses. I'm being given a replacement just for the cost of new frames.”

“Hi guys. I went to your Bicester branch today for a hearing test. Upon arrival your staff were wonderful and made me feel most welcome. I forgot to take my referral But the girls rang the clinic and sorted that for me. Otherwise l would have had to go back to the doctors. The test was proffesionly carried out and l am now looking forward to my new hearing aids. I would recommend this branch all the time. You're staff bent over backwards to help me. If medals were given out they would all get gold.”

“Not happy! Paid £300 for two pairs of glasses and could have got similar at another large chain so much cheaper, waited well over a week for them only to discover at work they were the wrong prescription. Went back and have been waiting over a week for replacements, this time I'm just having reading lenses instead of varifocals but there was no difference in price!! Ridiculously expensive, I had to ask if they'd do buy one pair get one half price as they don't even advertise that they do.”

“After receiving a reminder that my eye test was due I made an appointment online. The optometrist was very skilled - there was no pressure to buy new glasses but I needed another pair anyway. When I have had minor problems with glasses on previous occasions, the staff have usually mended them promptly without charge. We should support local services rather than the big names. I have been going to the same opticians for 38 years, though name has changed a couple of times. When I worked as a GP I used to sometimes find unecessary referrals to specialists from some big name opticians - perhaps some staff there were less confident in their expertise! I have not tried the hearing aid service yet but think I will need to soon!”
