Poor service in terms of left feeling major concern with eye. Having had time digest information given at check, and a night of no sleep, I made urgent telephone call to the branch the next day and was advised optician was busy and no slots all day wouldn’t be able to call. Receptionist advised she would find information for me and call back next day. This did not happen in spite of knowing how concerned I was. Appalling customer service. Decided to go for second opinion at Vision Express and had amazing service and professionalism.

They had computer problems and my card payment wouldn’t go through. I said I would pay on receipt of glasses having been a long time customer. They embarrassed me by asking for 50 percent deposit and my friend had been to cash machine. I didn’t know how much she had withdrawn and had to ask if she had enough money to pay. I tried the ATM but it wasn’t giving out anymore money. I will not use this company in future. As far as I was concerned it was their problem and should have accepted my offer of paying on receipt.

Today I visited the Sutton Coldfield branch to update my hearing aids, following an ear infection 2 weeks previously which Sophie had identified, and she written a letter for me to take to my Doctor, this was promptly done and I had the medication the next day. Today Sophie the hearing consultant was again very helpful, as the infection had cleared and adjusted the right hearing aid as necessary, once again excellent service, done in a very professional and business like manner, well done Sophie and the Sutton Coldfield Branch.

I found the staff at the Bromyard branch pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the optometrist was arrogant and didn’t listen to what I said. He gave me an incorrect prescription. I couldn’t wear the glasses made to that prescription and had to go to another optician in order to get my eyes rechecked and the lenses made to the new prescription. In the light of this experience I cannot recommend Scrivens in Bromyard.

Booked an appointment for my 91 year old mother-in-law at Stafford. Got there to find it closed for refurbishment. Very unhappy and have had to book her in elsewhere. SCRIVENS LOSS

I'm left without one hearing aid for four weeks while Scrivens do battle over who is going to pay for it, I pay an annual fee of £132.00 which according to Weston-super-Mare in not being honoured by Scrivens. I worry how much longer this company will last with this kind of service, as I have already paid a vast amount for the hearing aids. Remember the old records, I appear to be paying for stereo and receiving mono. I have no problem with Weston-super-Mare as they appear to be doing their best and are as frustrated as I am. I will go further if I have to, I am giving you one week to sort it Grant Parris

I’m not happy with services provided because I was mislead about verifocal lenses and they were not explained very well to me. The glasses did not fit me, I could not see when reading up close or when looking at things far away. For the price I paid, I expected to be able to see with the glasses straight away. Instead, I got £200 reading glasses which I could’ve gotten from elsewhere for £10.

I booked an appointment for a hearing test at the Park Place Darlington branch and the booking went smoothly. However, I get to the GP practise it's based in. And I sit there for 1 ½ hours before I just left because I had another appointment to get to. The reception at the GP had no communication with the scrivens there, despite them having a room there, so I had no idea what was happening. I can understand delays happen, maybe half an hour if you're unlucky but never have I had to wait 90 minutes after the appointment for no one to come. I'd not recommend you go to this branch to get a hearing test at all. Complete waste of time and stressful.

Well, I turned up at my local Scrivens today at 10:20 for a 10:30 hearing test having booked it a month previous only to be told they had no record of my appointment ! I had to show them my appointment card for them to realise the mistake was not mine . It turns out that someone else had been given my appointment for a earwax removal . I was not impressed to say the least. Their excuse was that they had had a computer glitch which must have wiped my appointment from their system , well that is too convenient , they did offer an appointment for the next day in another Scrivens 15 minutes away ? I said no thanks . Very disappointed to find a a paying customer for an earwax removal was more important than an NHS hearing test etc.

made appointment and when i got there they said one was not booked ,, had email and a text message to prove it , had a taxi there and wasted my cash to have to go again if they got this right next time we will soon find out

The Manager of you store in Tonbridge, Kent needs training in customer services - I have just had the most awful telephone conversation with him which resulted in my being very angry. This man needs to remember who is paying his wages and that customers should be treated with respect, especially when his branch has made an error. I don't expect to be spoken over or made angry when I am not the person in the wrong. Very bad form Scrivens, this is not the way to reward customer loyalty.

I walked Into the Scrivens In Grantham to look at glasses and was told to come back tomorrow as there wasn't anyone In the shop who could help me so I questioned why the shop was open If there wasn't anyone who could help the customer with the purchase of glasses as Instead of getting a valid reason I was requested to leave the shop, not Impressed with the customer service and will never use Scrivens.

I had my new hearing aids for one week. Then they stopped working I spoke to Scrivens, after a couple of questions they advised I would need them retuned. However I would have to wait over 2 months for this. They then said it could be the tubes, they sent new ones. My daughter fitted them and they still do not work. Very poor service and a shame as I did enjoy my week of decent hearing!

Never been more angry. I do have early corneal dystrophy and explained my eyes get very dry. I asked if my prescription had changed much and the optician said that she couldn't see my previous prescription in the examining room and marched me out to the reception for new glasses. I explained that the last 3 eye tests (over 9 months as optician said 3monthly tests) were all different and he said quote... you could have another test in 20 minutes and it would be different by 0.25. IT'S JUST NUMBERS!!!!! I explained that my glasses were 7 months old and I couldn't afford to change them twice a year. He must have taken me for a complete fool if he thought I believed eyesight changes every 20 minutes. Absolutely furious. Shall not be returning.

Having paid £70 upfront for a replacement hearing aid at Bradleys Penzance somehow my order seems to have been lost despite going in a week later to enquire. The response today 2 weeks later from the shop was that nothing could be done as someone was on holiday until Wednesday! I have arranged with headoffice to have a replacement sent direct to my house 7_10 days . Why couldn't the shop have done this for me Leaving me to arrange myself. My worry is that alot of elderly patients would not have been able to do this for themselves and would have needed the shop to have helped instead of being vaguely told I would have to wait for the audiologist to return from holiday next week ! And I paid £70 !! Very poor uncaring service . Head Office were excellent. Thankyou.

I’ve been a customer for 5 years. I am so disappointed with the last situation that happened to me. I haven’t received my contact lenses for several weeks, just a small box (10 free pairs) and that’s it. They charged me as usual by direct debit, but no lenses yet. I contacted Scrivens opticians at Sheffield and I was so surprised they didn’t know I was running out of lenses. They said “we could order another 10 pairs because the big batch is still delayed for more weeks. These lenses will arrive in a week or so”. When I mentioned the fact ONLY one pair of these free lenses is left they said “Oh, but maybe you’ve got glasses”. Then I contacted Scrivens by phone and the result was the same. They just said “there’s not much we could do. The delay is due to some issues with the manufacturer”. They should’ve contacted me before to let me know what was going on and offer options/solutions. They didn’t do that and my current work (using the computer for several hours a day) is being affected. Totally unacceptable.
