Starkey hearing aid batteries not very good. Right ear went faulty c.6 months ago and now left one has gone faulty. Have renewed insurance when reviewed Thursday 19/1/23 but am told by Horsforth branch that faulty left aid cannot be sent for repair until insurance is set up though I paid in full on the day. No criticism of audiologist who is excellent nor the optician who I also use but the follow up and administration presumably from your head office is pretty appalling Bryan David Fletcher Horsforth

Having recently moved from to Witney from the Isle of Wight it was decided by my doctor that I should get my eyes tested. I made an appointment for October 23 2022 at the Witney branch Having decided to go to them rather than Specsavers believing that their service would be better. Having waited a considerable time because the optician was running late, I finally was seen by the optician, only to be told that before I could have an eye test I would require to have a blood test. Why I am not sure. Finally one month later I had the long awaited eye test and it was decided to change the prescription, I paid £250 and was expecting to get transition lenses for this price. After one week I received a phone call requesting a further £180 for the special bifocal lenses. In order to keep the cost down I decided to forgo the transition lens. When the glasses finally arrived in December 2022 it was discovered that the bifocals put into the frame were too strong and affected my vision. On January 3 2023 I had a retest and said that as the bifocals were being changed then I would like to have the transition lenses and this was agreed to by the manageress of the Witney branch It is now January 26 2023 and I am still waiting for my glasses . Maybe I should have gone to Specsavers

Wouldn't go near them. Had to bad experiences over the years and cost me £££. Walk past them now and go to the competition.

I recieved a letter requesting me to phone to make an an hearing aftercare appointment, which was overdue. The due call was made and I was informed no appointments were available and I should phone again in a fortnights time. My second call was made after waiting the requested fortnight. I was then told no appointments were available , "Phone again in a fortnights time". I then asked if I could attend a different Scrivens establishment for my appointment. I was told this was possible and agreed to travel a reasonable distance. I then waited a while before being told no appointments were available and I should phone again in a fortnights time.......I gave up...........

They say they do ear wax removal on there website, but they don’t! So why they say they do I have no idea!

Absolutely disgusting, I had a hearing test on 16th September 2022 now 5th January 2023 and still waiting to get my hearing aids fitted I know it is NHS and not private, but I did not realise I would have to wait so long..

Attention. Just a reminder be very careful if considering hearing Aids or Glasses from Scrivens, make sure you check there returns policy very carefully, had the worst Customer service I've had anywhere. Merry Christmas scrivens NOT. beware beware beware look before buying.

Please avoid this company, I'm shocked at their mis-selling practices. My mum has been mis-sold expensive hearing aids when there were cheaper alternatives available that ACTUALLY suited her needs. She is left with a pair of expensive useless hearing aids (at a cost of £3500) which are not fit for purpose, Scrivens suggestion is buy another new pair from them . Please save yourself a lot of money and wasted time and use a reliable, honest and trustworthy company.

Ely Branch!! I’ve had enough with coming back and forth to get the correct glasses. I’ve had 2 eye tests plus was asked to come for a re check as there’s always mistakes being made, it’s just ridiculous. The opticians are always running late ( all 3 occasions), you’ve messed me up so many times and still 20 mins late on 3rd appointment! The European lady was lovely and very apologetic, the other blonde English lady was on the phone chatting and gossiping for the whole 20 mins I was sitting waiting for my appointment ( same lady that made many mistakes on my order ) how unprofessional! I’ll be going elsewhere.

Impossible to get an appointment .Have waited weeks and weeks and was told I would be put on high priority list but still no appointment available and when I asked what am I supposed to do I was told to wait. No a very positive response. Asked to speak to a manager told one not available.I need an appointment because I have had to attend hospital on 2 occasions because ear buds became lodged in ear canal. In my case your Core focus seems to have failed. I feel abandoned.

Still waiting for my glasses 4 weeks after appointment, and now advised have to wait another 2 weeks!!??? Paid a lot of money for the glasses and advised usually 2 weeks. Poor communication and service very disappointed. Instead of an apology, a partial refund would go some way to address the above!!! Going to write to head office to complain

Do not go to Scrivens in Widnes! I paid £99 for 2 pairs of glasses that are no good.I cannot see through them and they don’t fit properly.Sent an email expressing my dismay, to no avail. Very unprofessional in my opinion.

You sent me an email reminding me that my current hearing aids were now 2 x years old. You also asked me to complete a survey, yet nowhere in that email or survey was I asked about my loss of hearing condition, which has deteriorated over the past 2 x years. Isn't the whole point of the communication to check up on the patient?

My elderly father had a hearing test on 18th October and still has heard nothing. Scrivens have no record of the test apparently. Shambolic service.

Absolutely awful company. No one answers the phone. Consistently no staff if the shops. St ives in Huntingdon is NEVER open. Don’t think I’ll be coming here again.

I’ve been using Scrivens Tewkesbury for about 10 years but will be using a different optician from now on. Staff are rude and unhelpful and the shop is dusty and dirty. Whilst attending a different appointment I needed to give permission for information to be passed over the phone. Unfortunately the man who answered wasn’t able to find a referral letter and then gave false information which caused a great deal of concern. I went into the store in person and asked for a copy of the referral letter and abruptly and rudely was told to see my GP as they would have up to date information. I explained that it was actually the referral letter and date that I needed but the man continued to be very rude and grunted at me! You could visually see the dust on the counter and sides and bits all over the floor. As it turns out, the information he gave over the phone was completely incorrect! Seems like their staff give information about things they actually know nothing about and could do with some additional training. I’d be very wary to use the Tewkesbury branch again.

After being a NHS 'patient' for years I was transferred to Scrivens (with no choice). The hearing aids I was given have been useless - perpetually screeching despite return visit to Scrivens

My 93 year old mother who is struggling to hear very much had a hearing test at the beginning of November. She was told she needs hearing aids and they’d be ready in 3 weeks. We’ve had no contact since so I rang to chase it up and was told they’re ready but no appointment available until the middle of January. That is absolutely appalling. Why did no-one contact us as promised, why does she have to wait so long. Seems like no-one cares about elderly people any more.
