“Attended with a friend who I am carer for, for his eye test and he purchased new glasses staff are genuine and very friendly will be booking my test shortly prices are all very reasonable and the manager paul went out of his way to help choose and find the perfect fit.”

“My husband was given an NHS appointment with Scrivens and has been poorly served and we have been left £100”s out of pocket..He was told he needed new hearing aids and that these would be compatible with his recently purchased Oticon streamer which he so desperately relies on :sadly it was not so upon seeking advice from Scrivens he was then told he would have to buy a Bernafon sound gate 3 : which he did even though it was very expensive but sadly again he could not connect to his phone so he again contacted Scrivens for advice who quite bluntly told him “that as he had not brought the equipment from them they could not help”. At no point was he even told they sold such equipment so now having spent a great deal of money which we can I’ll afford he is left isolated as he can’t even connect with his phone. He has contacted customer services who sent an automated response saying we would get a reply within 48 hours but sadly we never did. Simple kindness totally lacking .”

“Went to Scrivens Opticians in Chesterfield and everyone was so friendly and helpful. After looking at other opticians for glasses that suited my face shape and having lost a bit of hope that I'd find glasses I'd like, the lovely lady that helped me here found me a fantastic pair for me in the first minutes. They were efficient, helpful, extremely polite and I would recommend 100%. I came with my rescue dog as well, who has a hard time trusting people, and she had such a nice and calm experience with the staff there.”

“I would recommend Scrivens as they are very nice, the customer care that I received was excellent. I was upset and nervous about having hearing aids, they were really kind and understanding and took me to another room, to explain the hearing aids. Plus I have had a follow up phone call, to see how I am getting on.”

“Absolutely poor service at the Bolton branch. My Mum had an eye test and was given the wrong prescription. She had glasses made up at another opticians with this prescription. When Scrivens was asked about prescription they admitted their mistake and issued another prescription, which was also wrong! In total my Mum had 3 pairs of glasses made up with the all the wrong prescription supplied by Scrivens. When asked about some compensation due to all the messing about and inconvenience she was told, ‘no compensation’ as she’d not spent any money with them recently. She’d always bought her glasses with them previously. Really poor service, terrible attitude from the manager. I asked to speak to someone above her and she said there is on one, but had previously told me this decision had come from her manager! They kept changing their story when asked about the reason why the prescription had been incorrect! Just making it up to cover it up. DO NOT SHOP HERE! You have been warned. Also, when I contacted them to complain it took 2 weeks to get a response and I only got one then because I rang to chase it up. I’ve had to give 1 star but they don’t deserve that. My Mum is 82 and didn’t need the distress.”

“I visited the Feltham branch for ear wax removal after visiting my doctor who could not see my eardrum at all. Stacey was the expert who carried out my treatment and couldn't have been more helpful or professional. It took multiple visits to clear a lifetimes build up but I would recommend Scrivens five star service and if your lucky enough to be treated by Stacey you've hit the jackpot.”

“I booked a appointment with this company for an eye test and they cancelled it infront of me and gave it to someone else and I got time off work for nothing . Thanks for nothing I guess”

“Went to my local Shirley branch for new glasses, picked what I thought suited me. Everyone very helpful. When I went to pick them up I wasn’t sure, but took them home to get used to them. But 2 days later I knew they didn’t suit me. I went back, very worried and upset as I had spent a lot on them and hated them. I needn’t of worried, they were so understanding, they helped me pick another pair which I am very happy with. Thank you David,Raj and Sam for fantastic customer service. I would recommend you to anyone.”

“I have recently transferred to Scrivens in Sutton in Ashfield, Notts from an optician I had been going to for many years. I wish I had done it years ago! My previous opticians were chaotic and noisy, phones were constantly ringing with no-one answering them and they were always running late. Customer care seemed to be the least important aspect of their job. In Scrivens the staff have created a very professional atmosphere which whilst calm and quiet is also very friendly and polite, with the customer being at the centre of things, which made me feel I had made the right decision from day one. I cannot praise Diane, the contact lens practitioner, enough. I have been wearing contact lenses for 58 years and the eye examination she gave me was the best and most thorough I have ever had. She explained everything that she was doing and when she decided to change my lenses she explained exactly why to me. She was right and the new lenses are so much better. Nothing was too much trouble. I have no hesitation in recommending Scrivens to anyone that will listen!”

“Today I went to the Hawthorn Road Kingstanding Branch for a 3 year hearing and hearing aid check ref P00069/3rd NHS Your technician was really helpful, she fully explained how my hearing was to be tested, and how results were affecting my hearing using the data collated on her laptop. We discussed the problems I had been having with my current hearing aids, and how she could improve them. The adjustments made resulted in a big improvement, I am very grateful to your Technician who's is a credit to your company.”

“11/10, top marks - Maidenhead branch - top notch team, brilliant sensible reliable service, great professional advice, smiles and a good sense of humour. Went in for an early review on my prescription reading glasses - minor change to prescription - almost immediately with new glasses the eye strain and headaches went away. This time I opted for Zeiss lens, they're brilliant and would use them again.”

“Being on Universal Credit in these lean times I was dreading having to buy new glasses as they can be very expensive. My eye test had been free but I was unsure if I was entitled to discounted specs. Rather than price-gouge like most businesses these days, the ladies at Scrivens Havant were quick to point out that a voucher entitled me to free frames and lenses and I would only have to pay for any coatings. They were friendly, customer-focussed and contacted me as promised when my glasses were ready. Great service.”
