I have been given hearing aids that are too difficult for me to use . I have been to my local shop several times and have asked to have the original type of hearing aids . but they seem unable to cope with this . I am 87 and not very skilful now I am quite deaf and would be very grateful if i could have useable hearing aids Anne Kaye

Reading all the other costumers reviews im the only one not happy for my eye test. When I had my test the optician is rude and the test is too past for me. And she talk to me like a kid. I’m shocked! I mentioned to my partner about my bad experience that day, he said exactly the same description of the lady optician. My son 8 years old had an eye test same lady my partner notice as well but he ignored. She’s rude! Don’t keep the kind of staff like that you loosing your costumers.

Great service during the eye test and ordering and then it falls apart been waiting since 25 sept. for my order to go through the lab and everytime you contact store same response still going through the lab your order will be with you in a weeks time

Scrivens Ringwood is totally uninterested in new clients: had my booking cancelled on the day due to optometrist and when I went a second time for my rebooking, I was 4 minutes late, I was left to wait standing for another 5 while front office was taking her sweet time chatting to a lovely old lady about a third party wedding, and then I was informed that I exceeded the 10-minute late policy so I have to leave and come back another time. Unfair and arrogant speech, I will certainly not try with them for a third time for a basic eye test, plenty optometrists out there who give due respect to customers.

After my eye test £30 picked new frames £49 Then was told price was over £440 for my new glasses After 25min I returned to the Fleetwood shop to say sorry I just can't afford them To that they replied we can get price down to £240 And you want notice the difference I will not return to you again

i find it impossible to get an answer on the phone it cannot be constantly busy i am supposed to get a review appointment but am exasperated as unable i am a 83 year old with no computer knowledge and find this very hard.have been trying to contact someone on the phone and local branch wont make appoinment for me please help

The shop is never open and the time it’s taking to get my glasses I should have gone to specsavers as they are quicker and cheaper

Worst admin experience ever. My bill was so confusing with additional fees, then refunds, then no break down that I had to deal with HQ several times to correct it. I finally got my glasses a month ago but even today received an email saying “your glasses are going through our glazing lab” and will be ready soon. Nice people at the branch I went to but I’ll never use Scrivens again. Paid £178 yet the varifocal split on my lenses is so bad I can’t see anything up close.

Having booked a hearing appointment with scrivens for my 94 year old mother, I was contacted yesterday and told that the appointment that was made a while ago had to be cancelled due to an ADMIN error. This was two days before the appointment. As it’s all on computer I can’t see how this can be. On asking how this had happened the chap kept saying they were sorry. Well sorry isn’t good enough for a 94 year old lady who has memory problems, also has one broken hearing aid and another that needs looking at. They don’t have internet, don’t have a smart phone, are hard of hearing and walking. I have a feeling that they were bumped off due to their age. Come on scrivens get it sorted. The truth as to why would also go a long way, insincere sorry does not cut the mustard. Let’s hope the re scheduled appointment in two weeks time won’t be cancelled 😡..

My 90 year old mum has had a very poor experience with you. She paid £2,300 for private hearing aids. They arrived in April, and by August, one of them had stopped working. She was told that because it was 'user damage' (very strange when she had only had them for about three months and is always extremely careful with them), she would need to pay a further £300 for repairs. Almost four weeks later, she is still waiting for the hearing aid to be repaired and returned, an appointment was cancelled at the last minute today, as apparently they had not arrived. She has severe hearing loss, and cannot currently participate in any of the social events she enjoys. Daily tasks are difficult. She was not offered any interim help while the hearing aid was repaired. I complained to local branch and your HQ, only to be met with excuses - she was sold the wrong hearing aid, it's 'the system' and nothing can be done, oh and if she'd shelled out a load more money when she bought them she would be covered for so-called 'user damage.' A very shoddy way to treat your customers, many of whom will be elderly.

Aftersales care is non-existant. It is impossible to contact my local store in Stafford by phone on a Saturday. After spending £3,000 on hearing aids I would expect to be able to make an appointment to speak to the Audiologists when I have a problem. I have tried 2 other nearby practices and they don't answer their phones either, after a few rings the calls get diverted to Customer care, which doesn't work on a Saturday.

I have had the past 3 appointments cancelled for my children over the past 3weeks . Today I went in because one of my children had glasses to collect.i was told because the optometrist was off ill glasses could not be fitted.dispute being told on the phone it would be fine .So I have had a wasted journey.I expect better treatment then this . Awful service.I will never be returning to this opticians.

Poor service in terms of left feeling major concern with eye. Having had time digest information given at check, and a night of no sleep, I made urgent telephone call to the branch the next day and was advised optician was busy and no slots all day wouldn’t be able to call. Receptionist advised she would find information for me and call back next day. This did not happen in spite of knowing how concerned I was. Appalling customer service. Decided to go for second opinion at Vision Express and had amazing service and professionalism.

They had computer problems and my card payment wouldn’t go through. I said I would pay on receipt of glasses having been a long time customer. They embarrassed me by asking for 50 percent deposit and my friend had been to cash machine. I didn’t know how much she had withdrawn and had to ask if she had enough money to pay. I tried the ATM but it wasn’t giving out anymore money. I will not use this company in future. As far as I was concerned it was their problem and should have accepted my offer of paying on receipt.

Today I visited the Sutton Coldfield branch to update my hearing aids, following an ear infection 2 weeks previously which Sophie had identified, and she written a letter for me to take to my Doctor, this was promptly done and I had the medication the next day. Today Sophie the hearing consultant was again very helpful, as the infection had cleared and adjusted the right hearing aid as necessary, once again excellent service, done in a very professional and business like manner, well done Sophie and the Sutton Coldfield Branch.

I found the staff at the Bromyard branch pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the optometrist was arrogant and didn’t listen to what I said. He gave me an incorrect prescription. I couldn’t wear the glasses made to that prescription and had to go to another optician in order to get my eyes rechecked and the lenses made to the new prescription. In the light of this experience I cannot recommend Scrivens in Bromyard.

Booked an appointment for my 91 year old mother-in-law at Stafford. Got there to find it closed for refurbishment. Very unhappy and have had to book her in elsewhere. SCRIVENS LOSS

I'm left without one hearing aid for four weeks while Scrivens do battle over who is going to pay for it, I pay an annual fee of £132.00 which according to Weston-super-Mare in not being honoured by Scrivens. I worry how much longer this company will last with this kind of service, as I have already paid a vast amount for the hearing aids. Remember the old records, I appear to be paying for stereo and receiving mono. I have no problem with Weston-super-Mare as they appear to be doing their best and are as frustrated as I am. I will go further if I have to, I am giving you one week to sort it Grant Parris

I’m not happy with services provided because I was mislead about verifocal lenses and they were not explained very well to me. The glasses did not fit me, I could not see when reading up close or when looking at things far away. For the price I paid, I expected to be able to see with the glasses straight away. Instead, I got £200 reading glasses which I could’ve gotten from elsewhere for £10.
