First time going there at Barnsley , I’m from Sheffield . Staff was nice , ordered some glasses and needed verifocoal which I’ve had for years . Went to pick them up but couldn’t see out of them , was told to choose a smaller frame , which I did . Picked up new glasses said can’t see right but I was advised to give them a go !!! I have to lift them up to to see out of them £234 out of pocket .Im not be going back , just think they want your money . Alan on the other the other hand did a proper check of my eyes , well done to him .

After referral for a hearing test I had to wait almost 5 months to get an appointment . Went to the shop ..desperate telling staff that I’m loosing my hearing . Instead of reassurance I have been told ,that many people loose their hearing and that I’m not the only one . Finally having my test on the 19.10.22 it was agreed with the Audiologist that the outcome would be send to spire hospital to my consultant ready for my appointment on the 17.11.22 . So I payed private for the consultant just to find out that nothing had been forwarded and therefor my time and money has been wasted . Visiting Havant Branch I explained the situation and requested the report so I could to take it to the hospital myself . Unfortunately I was told that that was not an option and that I had to write to Head office and request results from them and that my GP has got the results . So after hours on the phone chasing I have been told by my GP that they hadn’t received anything . One staff at Havant branch doesn’t show any good will . Her customer service is everything but satisfying . I will contact the governing body today to open a complaint . I feel completely neglected …and neglect is abuse .

The optician was questioning my faith and told me to pray to god and ask him to cure my ailments. I felt extremely uncomfortable during my eye test due to the persistent questioning of my faith/religion. I did complain to the deputy manager at the time. I did not complain to the optician, if I did pray i was praying that she got the examination right.

They never answer the phone. Service is so slow. It's a wonder how they stay in business.

I have been messed about badly over the last few months: I was told I could have an appointment at the Gosport branch to get new hearing aids and then when I arrived, was told I was too young to be seen (no phone call beforehand and apparently they only see people with age related hearing loss over 55yrs) Then,a staff member adjusted my hearing aid when I didn’t want it turned up so it was too loud. A week later I visited Hedge End to see another audiologist who said I needed to get a referral letter from the doctors to get new hearing aids. Two weeks on I had the doctors letter, so I phoned Hedge End and was told “we only supply hearing aids to people over 55”, even after I’ve been a customer of theirs for a number of years with no issues and no mention of this policy before! When were you going to tell me this information, Scrivens Hedge End and Gosport, that you couldn’t help me with new hearing aids? when you’d made me yet another appointment to turn up and be told you can’t help me? Absolutely disgraceful behaviour and poor/no communication.

After 6 months of having hearing aids that I paid £3000.00 for then finding out that they don't work as they should after I recommended a friend who purchased the same, they were sent away for repair ...I was told it would take a week (it took two weeks). And they still don't work properly. Now I can't get appointment for a week and your customer services were of no help. I wouldn't recommend scrivens to anyone else.

Disgraceful and unprofessional outfit run by cowboys and clowns Constantly cancelling appointments at a moments notice or no notice at all Travelled half an hour with a distressed 89 year old cos never even bothered to inform us this one cancelled Taking our service elsewhere

Not seen an audiologist yet just got my appointment letter in two male first names and my first name spelt wrong as my surname bit nervous how my treatment will be

Disgusted with this company. I have trouble with my hearing aids and a decline in my hearing. Cannot get a hearing test for 6 months as told every 2 years for a test. They are not now doing a test at my GP Surgery and the nearest town do not have anyone to do a hearing test. Further more, Cannot book a test through a local centre, you have to go through the free phone number, waiting an hour today and received a negative answer. I will be pleased when my nhs contract is finished with this company. I did phone another centre of the same company and they had no record of me.

had an appointment at Scrivens, actual hearing test etc was well carried out and I felt the audiologist was very thorough and did not rush. Had NHS hearing aids fitted, the fit was not the best as they did not rest on my ears there was a gap between hearing aid and ear and I had trouble getting the right one to fit into my ear properly and at times it was painful trying. Went back and they fitted a new dome to the right one (she seem to have trouble getting the dome to fit onto the hearing aid), that night when I took them out the dome on the right ear came off and was left in my ear, luckily husband got it out. Went back to explain the problems I was having about poor fit, explained about fitment to ear etc, they tried another few ideas but nothing was suitable, so in the end I left the centre with a variety of domes and wires and told to go and play with them (I think she mean't try them). So I'm back off to my original hearing centre to see if they can once again help me out.

I went to the bury st edmunds for my pre booked appointment and was told they had no record of it. I showed them your letter to me. As I live approximately 1 hour drive away, you can imagine I wasn’t best pleased. Please take me OFF your listing as I now go to a local, more reliable company. Regards Andrea Ellis

NOT HAPPY AT ALL, HAD MY APPT 6TH MAY 2022. HAVE OLD HEARING NHS AIDS,, NEW MOULDS WERE DONE SENT TO YOU. NEW ONES CAME 16TH Sept 2022. ear moulds are too big make my ear lobes soar. reverted back to old hearing aids. my appts were at Portsmouth St Marys Treatment Centre, Echo room.

On 19th October 2022, I experienced very rude , authoritative and bossy attitude of all ladies at the reception. I don't know why? Those were different persons. Normally reception staff over there is good. But this was a very bad day for me over there.

Issued with hearings aids from Scrivens via GP surgery. Not happy with fit, made appointment but this was cancelled by Scrivens. Rescheduled... Scrivens cancelled again at short notice. Rescheduled by Scrivens for 1.30pm today. I attended 20minutes before appointment time. I then waited and waited, asked politely if I had been forgotten and was told no the audiologist would come to get me. Unfortunately at 2.45pm I was still waiting and could not and should not have to wait that amount of time. Will therefore go to another Hearing Centre and hope for better treatment.

Had new glasses from the North Walsham branch October 2021, after numerous visits over weeks they told us that neither my or my wife's glasses could be made to fit comfortably so we would have to claim on the insurance and get replacements (paying the excess). Only after escalating to head office did we manage to get an appointment with a properly trained (visiting) optician who managed to make them comfortable in one visit. We will not be going back.

I had my hearing test yesterday at Mill hill branch and the audiologist told me that you have sharp hearing loss in right ear and you need to see your GP urgently. He asked me that take the report and give it to your GP. Then he suddenly decide to post that letter to GP. Today I contacted my GP and they asked me for that report. When I contact scrivens to send me report they told me that it will take 10 working days. How can it be 10 working days if its urgent. I told then to send me the email so I can pass it to my GP and make the referral to consultant. The person Mr. nathan told me that it will take 10 working days for email as well. So poor people rely on post in this electronic era. Below they asking email address for verification.

Unfortunately and regretfully, Scrivdns Bakers arms, staff is very impolite, Refuse to hand over prescription after vision/sight test until get dilation test. Total black mailing. Please call me to listen full story. M iqbal 0791 220 6497 Thanks. Regards

Was told I was paying for three months contact lens supply,in fact I was paying for five months for three months supply. Beware none of this is mentioned in the contract or orally. Because I wasn't using them daily, I asked if I could just buy on a monthly basis told it wasn't possible. Paid for the first three months supply up front and it wasn't at any time I need to pay any extra.
