Branch of Birmingham at 41 Corporation St, Birmingham B2 4LS is rubbish. Change appointment from time to time but no notice inform me of cancellation. Waste my time, my daughter has eye checking over three weeks, promise 10 days to pick it, over three weeks now. No one contact me. After I urge for it, confirm me to come on 9 Sept. 8 Sept, I call it again but replied that no appointment made for me. How crazy is this branch!

My elderly mother (who is profoundly death in one ear and poor hearing in the other) had an appointment today, your team called and cancelled last minute, she couldnt hear or understand the message, and when we turned up at the appointment we were told the room was hired and no contact details at all. I took the day off work and we cant get through to anyone on the phone- terrible service!

I was referred to Scrivens by my GP as they had a clinic in the surgery. In the end, this was not possible and I had to go into the local branch instead. The consultation was fine and I was supplied with new aids which were an improvement on my old ones. However, when I needed a follow up, the problems started. First, the branch did not have an audiologist. I was advised I would be informed when one was found. This never happened. Eventually I got so frustrated that I complained at the surgery. An appointment was made for me, but was cancelled by Scrivens at very short notice. Since then, 3 more appointments have been made and all cancelled the day before. Unfortunately, as an NHS patient, I am tied to Scrivens for 5 years. Looks like they are happy to take the cash. But not provide the service.

Was refered by NHS to Scrivens to supply replacement hearing aid, Was not contacted by Scrivens telling me this and it was only after 5 weeks and a return visit to my doctor for an update an appointment was arranged. Was told the ear moulds would be ready in 2 to 4 weeks. Its now 8 weeks later and still no sign of them.

My Mother is registered Blind and has hearing issues meaning she required an appointment with Scrivens She has waited 8 weeks for the appointment at Langford branch only for it to be cancelled the day before Now she has boon told she needs to wait another 8 weeks and attend a surgery farther away She is very upset at the way this has been handled It is shameful that Scrivens are treating an elderly disabled lady with such disrespect

I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS OPTICIAN, AS I WAS TOLD AN OUTRIGHT LIE AND MADE TO FEEL LIKE A FOOL.THE STAFF ARE FINE, VERY FRIENDLY, BUT THE PARTICULAR OPTICIAN AFTER GIVING ME A NEW PRESCRIPTION,THEN SAID I DID NOT QUALIFY FOR AN NHS VOUCHER, WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING MY DETAILS, SO I WILL NOT BE RETURNING THERE.

I had my usual optical test and decided to try varifocals as an alternative to my normal 2 pairs of glasses for reading and distance. I had extra coatings for scratch and light reflection and bought insurance. There is a cooling off period in case varifocals don’t suit you which I found to be the case and had started wearing my old glasses. I got in touch with scrivens to discuss the change and they said to come into the shop to discuss etc. In the meantime I lost the varifocals and advised them if this. They then told me I’d need to replace them before I could change back tp 2 different pairs which seemed strange as I didn’t want varifocals and they continued to say by the time the replacements came back I’d be out of time to change them to 2 pairs. Well, what a position I’m in now with no new glasses and have paid out such a lot. This is disgraceful, They’ve made it impossible due to their timings when it’s not my fault it takes them that long to replace what I didn’t want anyway.. I’m going to trading standards and hope this is resolved. I have since contacted them on 2 occasions and they say the same as above and now have stopped responding to me !

Well that's me, won't go near scrivens again. Totally useless disorganised outfit. It's a shame because there are some good people there, but organisation is diabolical. Kevin

My Mum received absolutely horrendous service at your Tewkesbury store last week! Where are the usual knowledgeable, understanding staff? No one knew what they were doing, all they seemed to care about was how much money she would spend! She has never been quoted or charged that much previously at Scrivens for varifocals, why so much this time? Also the man that served her smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, which was very very off putting. We took her to Boots down the road today, what a difference, clean, professional and spent much less then we were quoted at Scrivens this visit! Unfortunately my Mum and our extended family will not be back any time soon!

If I could give zero stars I would. Not only did Scrivens break my glasses when fitting them but then they just gave them back to me broken and would have left it at that if I hadn’t threatened to take them to court at which point the manufacturer stepped in and gave me a replacement frame. Avoid due to very poor aftercare and customer service.

Ordered my new glasses through the insurance i had taken out because i lost them ! After 4 weeks no notification from Scrivens so i called in ,they told me they had not been ordered for me the lady i ordered them with had just not ordered them ?? I have had to wait another week while they hurried my order through ? I have not been given any explanation as to why my glasses were not ordered for me ?So for 5 weeks i have had to struggle through with £2.50 glasses which were barely suitable for me to read with .

why can't I get spare tubes and domes for my NHS hearing aids? I keep asking, I keep complaining. nothing changes I don't understand why I have to beg for tubes and domes. do you have a policy?

Husband had a hearing test, told he needed aids and that someone would call to arrange an appointment for fitting. No one has bothered to call so now he has been to Boots and collects them next week. Would not recommend Scrivens.

I had my usual eye test and all went well. I bought some varifocals and had extra coating along with insurance. Later and within the cooking off period I realised I did not take to varifocals and made an appointment to change to separate glasses. In the meantime I lost them and was told I couldn’t get separate glasses as by the time I had them replaced it would be outside of the cooling off period. It’s not my fault you take that kind to replace and knowing I actually did not want them replacing, just changing for separate glasses for creating and distance, I’m dismayed at this ridiculous position you put me in.

My first appointment 1st February 2022, cancelled by Scrivens but no-one thought to let me know. Second appointment 14th February, again cancelled by Scrivens but this time I was informed. Third appointment 19th February for consultation. Forth appointment 28th February ordered £2,695.00 re-chargeable Bluetooth hearing aids, paying £404.25 deposit, to expect delivery in 2 - 3 weeks. After 4 weeks, 28/03/2022, I received a call from Scrivens HO asking me why I had missed my appointment, which I had not been made aware. The caller offered me a new appointment on 25th April at which I became somewhat annoyed. An appointment was subsequently made for the same day, 28th, at 4pm. Unbelievably an hour later I received a call from HO again informing me that the hearing aids could not be located, apologised and cancelled the 4pm appointment. (How could I have missed an appointment earlier in the day if they had no hearing aids to supply!!!). an appointment was made for 4th April and everything seemed OK except we were not able to connect to Bluetooth, only to find that they had not specified Bluetooth on the order although I had paid for it!!! The hearing aids were returned and "expressed" for collection on 11th April. I collected them on the 11th thinking AT LAST, but no, we still could not connect to Bluetooth or the APP. We thought it was the wifi in the small surgery so I said I would try at home and let them know. At home I tried and tried but no good, connect to my ipad, yes, so what was wrong. By chance my grandson, who is a wizz at IT came to visit, he immediately checked the phone's compatibility with the APP, not compatible. At no time during the whole process of purchasing the hearing aids was a specific phone requirement discussed. If I am to keep the hearing aids I have to buy a new phone and will Scrivens make a contribution, yes, £100.00. I returned them on 23rd May and asked for my deposit to be refunded, which only took two weeks. As you can expect from my experience I would not recommend Scriven Hearing Care to anyone.

Tried to book an appointment at Hebden Bridge through NHS referrals. No appointments. Apparently they are only there once every two weeks and only book appointments for a month ahead, which is only two sessions so no wonder there are no appointments! Poor service I think. Clearly I have to look elsewhere.

Have attempted six times to contact you by phone, no response only dreadful music, are you there??? do you care about customers??? I think not!! Customer service, rubbish!!!!

Went to WSM branch Greenslades. Helpful staff except for a lady, then met the rudest Optician I've ever known. Arrogant, male who humiliated me. Made me and my husband wait for hours.

Do they actually take calls? Tried THREE times today and just get banal music. I've been a customer for three years 9NHS and Private) - not any more! I'm going to take my business elsewhere. Appalling Customer Service.
