It turned out all right in the end, but it was a long journey. The initial application was made online at the beginning of July 2022 and the installation was finally completed on 28 October. It is probably much quicker if you have a parking area immediately adjacent to the house. Our garage is 35 meters away, at the bottom of the garden. This required countless photographs before an engineer was commissioned to come and explore the possibilities, and another engineer's visit because the first one left the company before the installation was attempted. In all, it has cost over £2000. It seems to me that the process would be much simpler if the job was classified as either "standard" (i.e. adjacent to the house) or "non-standard", which immediately prompted and engineer's visit.

Process of ordering, paying and organising installation date was great. The actual installation could have been better. The garage was cleaned up afterwards, brick dust left everywhere, which meant I had to spend about 40 mins cleaning up. Move complained about this and still waiting for a reply!

The chap who came to fit the pod and conducted a pre-installation survey was fantastic. However everything else was horrendous. The questions I received back to the installation form were unclear, unhelpful and you needed to have an electrical degree to understand. In hindsight I wish I had used a firm that automatically conducted a site visit first.

PodPoint suffers from very limited capacity & expertise at its booking & contact centre. Our groundworks booking was communicated to us but not the groundwork team, so they didn't show up, and installation had to be postponed. The necessary data cable was not sent to us as required. Fortunately the installer was great & able to cope with what he termed PodPoint's "usual inefficiency". There are very few people at the contact centre & emails are often unanswered. If there is a race to install EV points, I'd back another provider.

The ordering, booking and installation was all super easy. The installer arrived on time and was helpful in advising the best location and then explaining how it works. The disappointing element was the connection with the App which you can’t do for an hour or so after installation. The charger wouldn’t connect to my app, I raised several support calls and it took 4 days for anyone to get back to me. I also searched and searched and there’s no live chat, email etc. I tried phoning but couldn’t get a response just felt the customer support was poor after I’d paid my money!

Install felt a little rushed. Online survey was pointless as lots of things changed when the installer looked at things. Had to move parcel box which now doesn’t open fully when charging… at least the unit itself works.

The web based ordering process was very easy at first However the survey information submission took longer than described Then the back and forth emails clarifying points could have been carried out more quickly with a phone call or a vist as it turned out there were no issues at all and it was a simple install. This element was a very poor experience The on the day installation was extremely high quality and a very good experience and the fitter excellent and should be comended.

It was ok. The installer suggested wiring through the garage (great idea, which I didn’t know was an option) but then asked me to clear the garage for safe access, which was totally reasonable, but it was clear he was irritated he has to wait whilst he watched me move BBQ’s, Bikes and other items.

I had a mixed experience, I required multiple emails and explanations of the layout of the house which still wasn’t enough as I then had 2 visits to get the installation complete. Yazmin was very polite is the emails and the 2 technicians that turned up were very helpful and explained what was required. There was an issue with the external wall that was drilled and a piece of brick was damaged and subsequently flies back on, see image.

I arranged the installation and was told I would receive a call prior to installation, the Engineer arrived without notification which caused a disruption to meetings I had planned. Installation was carried out professionally with full explanation of what would happen. Once installed Engineer further explained what had been carried out and how next to proceed. Very Professional Installation, pre-installation communications could be improved.

Unacceptable leaving it to the customer to provide all the data, information & photographs online to Podpoint for its desktop preliminary survey & risk assessment. £999 should buy an initial onside visit, advice & guidance. Good service after that especially from the engineer who installed the charging unit, commissioned it, made the electrical connections, & assisted with setup of the Podpoint App.

Should have come with a lock and not separate unless it was a special lock. As it should have had a place for a padlock at least to be out on it. Customer service do not come back quick enough when contacted. Car not arrived so do. It know how good it is. Looks good though

Very pleased with the installer on the day, he had some technical queries around my meter but got the support he needed from his office to resolve I believe, phoned ahead too so i new he was on his way. Was frustrated regarding the route as agreement with engineer made a few weeks in advance on the phone which was later disputed.

Fitter very good and did what promised to. Still waiting for an email to link to my account my home system, despite being told it would arrive within a few hours and sending emails to chase it up when I did not hear. Still waiting . Also when booking installation on phone very confusing process despite sending numerous pictures.

Everything went OK,lots of emails explaining the installation, had to provide a lot of pictures which the engineer I think never saw...installation was OK but the first 20 mins I had to convince the engineer how the install was going to happen....very frustrating but we got there in the end....not had time to test as car not coming until march 2023

The charger works fine when it works. However it’s totally reliant on my very average internet connection and when that’s insufficient I can’t charge my car. Seems bonkers that my wifi strength determines whether I can charge my car or not. Unless of course there’s a non WiFi option which I don’t know about.
