About Pod:

Pod is one of the UK’s leading EV charging providers, powering homes, public spaces and workplaces. We were innovators right from the get-go, helping people make the switch to electric in the very early days of EV travel. Today, a quarter of a million customers trust us to be the heart of their EV life, and we power over 5 million miles every day.

The people at Pod who take your money are good. Boy are they good. After twenty minutes of talking to an advisor I couldn't wait to shovel my cash into their account. And the engineer who fitted the thing three weeks later was brilliant. He was smart, cheerful, worked hard and tidied up afterwards. And he turned down a second cuppa, which is a rare thing. It was the people in the middle, the organisers, who spoiled the process for me. The guy who hung up on me 'cause I expressed disappointment at my 'two week' wait being extended to three. And the person who forgot to call with the new appointment date, leaving it entirely to chance whether or not I was at home when the doorbell rang. These people should try to get a refund for the cost of their customer care training, it's not working. Would I use Pod again? Probably yes, so much was good and the thing looks nice on the wall and works fine. Perhaps EDF, the new owners can sort out the dead wood in the office?

I found the experience very calm and informative. The engineer was polite and clean. He positioned the pod in the best place to ensure it did not look out of place. The whole process of installation was quick.

Nothing wrong with the Pod Point itself, but people should be warned, if you need any ground work done, DON'T ask Pod Point to do it. I was charged just under £1000.00 for a man to come and dig a small trench (using a spade, no other equipment) to lay a 2 metre pipe underground to run their cable. He took less than 2 hours. The excuses for the exorbitant costs - they use subcontractors, so have no control over the pricing and the contractor had to come a long way !!! I complained and complained and asked for them to reconsider, but to no avail. Basically ripping off their customers.

Extremely poor experience with misleading pricing and hidden charges. Ordered EV charger for £999 presented as complete installation cost, but Pod Point incrementally added £380 for "groundworks" and £200 for "extra labour" - total increased 58% to £1,579. Each charge was revealed only after previous payments made, preventing informed decision-making. Communication was poor throughout with week-long delays responding to emails and failure to provide VAT invoice for business purchase after 28 days. Installation route was misunderstood despite providing clear video evidence. "Standard installation" terminology is misleading when they know additional charges will apply. This appears systematic rather than isolated incident. Installation remains incomplete after paying £1,379. Have written a formal complaint to the company. If I don't receive a response within 10 days, I will be filing complaints with Trading Standards via Citizens Advice Bureau. The incremental charging approach is unacceptable - choose a company that provides honest upfront pricing instead.

Never use podpoint. Shocking service. Had my podpoint for 6 weeks and still not working. Mercedes recommends them but not sure why.

On star seems to be too generous for this company. Engineer booked but did not turn up to assess the job on 2 occasions. The call centre staff are very lovely but unable to action anything. The domestic project manger takes 5 days on average to respond to emails and will not take or return my calls. There is no consideration of booking appointments when I am available despite me giving them multiple dates. I am still waiting for my EV charger which I paid for 6 weeks ago. Appalling.

Abysmal service Abysmal service. Charger under warranty. I have been calling them for 48 hours as the charger does not work. I am just getting through to a call centre who are saying it is raised with our technical team, no engineer has taken the job yet! They can not tell me when someone will come out. They are literally doing nothing. I asked to speak to a manager and they just hung up the phone on me!!!

Absolutely useless. Worst organisation I have dealt with. No telephone number to contact them. Contact by email takes them several days to get back to you. The Pod Point charger itself is a piece of chunk. Parts constantly fail.

I just purchased a Pod Point which was delivered one week ago and after using it for a few days it broke and upon contacting Pod Point which is very difficult. Finally they want to send an engineer on the 2nd of April. I just purchased this a week ago and it got delivered installed And now I have to wait almost 2 1/2 weeks for someone to come round to have a look after just using it for a few days ridiculous.

Quick and efficient installation. The installer was very helpful in exposing the system and wider issues such as charging away from home.

It's now over 2 months since I ordered the home EV charger and I still can't use it. The initial process was straightforward and streamlined. However, Pod Point cancelled my installation on the day, then I had to wait weeks for the new installation date. Once the charger was installed they then said that I needed an inspection from Northern Powergrid. However it took a couple of weeks, and a few calls from me, before Pod Point finally got in touch with them. Once Northern Powergrid signed off the work Pod Point said that they'd activate my charge as soon as possible. It's now been days and it still hasn't been activated. It's really difficult to get in touch when you have a problem, staff rarely respond to emails or take days to reply and the call centre has really long wait times. I'd honestly avoid Pod Point if you're looking for a home EV charger.

The pod point solo 3 charger is best avoided if you are one of the ~10% of men who have colourblindness. The status LED is small and changes between red, yellow, green and blue. Only the blue light will be clearly indistinguishable without additional technology. Needless to say 95% of the reviews on here are by people who are oblivious to this problem. Hopefully Podpoint will do better with their next model.

Having bought a jaguar from a main dealer which came with a 'free charger' i was expecting a quick simple charger install. Unfortunately my house isnt a small new build but a larger victorian property. After weeks of photos and plans submitted i was told i needed cables underfloor. Podpoint engineers dont do any wiring that involves lofts , underfloor etc so i had to employ a electrician to run cables which took more time and expense. The whole thing became a bit of a marathon and a pain in the butt. What is the point of a EV charger install company if they only do 1 part of a job? If the charger wasnt part of a package i wouldnt have bothered. if you dont have a new property be ready for a bit of hassle and more costs.

Pod point charger has stopped working. Finally got an appointment for an engineer to visit… in 17 days time. Dreadful sarcastic customer support when I finally got through to a human. Thanks for the tip to use public chargers buddy except there’s only 4 in town and I’d have to push the car there to use them. Awful. Avoid this dreadful company.

Device and installing was great, it's the app that is problematic. Got a new phone and Pod Points two step verification just does not work. No customer support just generic faqs. Device still works at home guess I just won't be able to use their public network, there loss not mine.

Yes good initially but when it went wrong not very helpful as wanted £190 call out plus parts to rectify fault. They went on to say that I should have taken out their extended warranty. Lost faith in company and looked on call out fee as good money chasing bad so bought a Zappi Charger
