Didn’t work for the first week and had to wait quite a while for someone to come back out and fix it

I found the process of installation problematic. The person sent by Pod Point was condescending (‘give me your Wi-Fi password, I will tell you later why I need it’), took no care when working to keep noise down (ie loud telephone call unrelated to the work under my and my neighbours windows where we work) and then cut the electricity off without checking if we had the PCs switched off so that we don’t lose work. Overall very little consideration for the customer as part of the installation - I would not chose this company in future

The installtion was brilliant, really great guy and good comms. The fact it took 6 weeks from my purchasing the Pod Point to getting feedback that i needed an electrician to get it installed was really poor, and required me chasing via email and twitter before i got any response.

Had to chase installation as the engineer didn't turn up on our first date even though I had confirmed it. The installation itself went fine but feel that clearing up after work could have been better as I had to ask him to take the rubbish away, and I was still left picking up bits of wire and plastic debris afterwards

Before I ordered my unit I was constantly contacted by phone and email. After the installation you all lost interest and then I struggled to speak to anyone as my unit was faulty. It was originally installed wrong, wired up wrong and so the wifi didn’t work and it ran at 2.2kw. £900 and I couldn’t use it!

From payment to installation little to no communication from Podpoint. I had to chase them for a date/time. Engineer who came to do the install was somewhat surly and unhelpful. Despite Podpoint asking for a lot of information prior to install including asking for numerous photographs etc it seemed pretty clear that the guy who came to install had seen/received nothing. The installation was by a third party contractor to Podpoint - not a great ambassador for the company. Would not advise others to use Podpoint based on their customer service thus far. Very disappointing.

Install went well however we felt the engineer installed the charger in a manner that was easy for him and made excuses as to why he didnt think it was best to install where we wanted the charger. As a consequence we have to drag the cable across the garage past another car to be able to charge our car.

My installation was very easy with all containment installed by others, all that was needed was cable. Everything was fully explained in the pre-installation photographs etc. but the electrician still turned up without the cable. I believe pod point should complete a proper survey of a property before sending the installation engineer to avoid these issues. I ended up supplying the cable to enable installation to be completed on the day. The electrician was excellent.

The process to arrange the installation was simple and easy and the calls to arrange etc were all good so no issues there. The installation was the issue. The work internally with the wiring was fine but the engineer has drilled through my external wall from the inside using too much force and has shattered the bricks on the outside of the house as the drill bit went through. Most of this is covered up by the charger but if I ever get rid of it in the future I am left with an unsightly mess which will be costly to repair. Also the charger doesn't fully cover it and some of it can still be seen on one side as shown in the photo where the engineer has tried to hide it with silicone sealant.

When I placed the order I was warned of high demand and long lead times, which was frustrating as a starting position. The form to book an electrician to fit the unit was lengthy and you could not save it part way through so you had to complete it in one go which took up a lot of time having to upload all of the photos required. When I completed the form the engineer called and said they had a cancellation and could fit two days later!! great.. but that would suggest the long lead time was because the government funding had expired. So I could no longer claim part of the cost back.. which makes the Pod Point a very expensive unit! To add to my frustration when the pod point was fitted the engineer used a circuit breaker on my fuse board for another item in my house. I now have to pay for another electrician to fit another breaker and incur more costs. This was not worth the trouble and cost. In addition to the expensive wall unit the overpriced cable and the additional call-out charge from my electrician I feel I would be better off just plugging in the car to a normal plug socket.

I had organised installation for a friday, which I had taken annual leave for. On the day no one turned up and when I contacted Pod Point I was informed there had been a mistake with the email and it had been scheduled for the following Tuesday. As this was such short notice I was unable to then get the day off work. The only other date available was Sunday (which I also had work scheduled for) and as it needed completing before the end of the month to qualify for the government grant I had to cancel my Sunday shift. This has resulted in a wasted annual leave day for the original schedule and also a loss of earnings from the Sunday cancelled shift. On the day of installation, Paul was very helpful. He did a great job and considered the aesthetics of the wiring to the charge point as well as advising on the placement. He also was able to advise at a later date on how to connect the charge point to a new wifi system.

The installation is fine and works well. However, the company have been very difficult to deal with and have overcharged me for works they claimed would be needed but have not been needed. They then did not respond to my enquiries to request a partial refund. We had a cable installed already but rather than use this, the installer insisted on putting in a new unsightly cable as he had brought the wrong cable clips for just the data cable. He also forgot to bring a ladder, despite knowing it was a two storey house, and was on his own, which was not very safe when we lent him a ladder.

A very traumatic experience. Various emails asking for the same information and photographs over and over again. Also asked to address what seemed highly technical questions which were difficult to understand. It felt like we were just being strung along as the company was too busy. Just wish they would have said it will take 3 months rather than wasting our time. I would have been willing to wait. The engineer himself was good when he came. Had to email and telephone. Responses varied from quick, to NOT at all at times. However it all seems to be working well now which is the most important
