A shaky start where I was requested to send photos of the fuse box, desired installation place and everything in between. I am not an electrical engineer so missed out an important detail about grounding, so the installation was initially put on hold until the issue is rectified. Two weeks and one 3rd party electrician's visit later, it turned out my home wiring was fine, I just didn't know where to look and what to photograph. This delay could have been avoided if PodPoint actually sent an engineer on site to inspect the property, rather than communicating by emails. That being said, once this was clarified the booking went very quickly, within a few days. The engineer came on the agreed date and then another series of issues began. Apparently he was not told about the door between the fuse box and the desired installation location (despite all the photos I sent!), so he came without any parts for routing the cable around the corners. (I'd assume he'd have his van full of different bits for every occasion, but what do I know.) Eventually we agreed on a different location and I initially agreed for my parcel box to be removed for this purpose. In the end, it turned out the removal of the parcel box was completely unnecessary - but now I can't put it back immediately because the charger head holder is in its place. (According to the engineer, I can move it by myself to wherever I want, as soon as he's gone. Lucky me!) Again, all the above issues would have been avoided if only an engineer came to survey the place ahead of the installation. (All happening in March 2022, so COVID lockdown way behind us.) It also takes about 24h for the app/account/email address to be configured which, again, the engineer was unaware of. Initially he said he'd show me how the app works but then he spent another hour on the phone, fiddling with his tablet and switching the PodPoint off and back on. In the end he made an excuse and legged it, leaving me to talk to PodPoint support directly. The engineer, of course, was not from PodPoint but from another company they outsourced to. PodPoint were quick to respond via the app query, which sends an email to them; but again, when I attempted to reply to PodPoint's email, the return address was undeliverable. In the end, it all seems to be working now, but required an excessive and unnecessary level of my time and effort to get it done.

The installer didn’t complete the installation on the day and hasn’t returned to complete it!!

What should have been a simple process became very frustrating and annoying apart from the final installation which went well.Robotic, imprecise, instructions and communications.

The installation on the day was great, no issues (done by a 3rd party contractor). The customer support however trying to organise the installation was shockingly bad. If I wasn't getting a free pod-point through Audi I would have cancelled the installation weeks before the install and went with a different company. I sent numerous emails with absoultely no response. I had to call several times and had to wait over 30 mins to speak to someone then heard nothing back. I submitted all the required information for an Install back in October 21 and I finally manged to get the installation done on the very day my new EV arrived on the 10th March. Quite a simple task made very hard by poor customer sevice.

the full process has been terrible. I wish I had not done this with you!

I'm afraid my experience was not a great one. Delays in responding to simple email questions or even acknowledging the installation and then last minute requests from Pod Point only made the whole thing quite stressful. The Engineer then challenged what my electrician had done when a quick Google search would have told him that the RCD we had installed was correct. That was 30 minutes of added stress at the end I did not need !

I picked Pod Point because it is a well known brand. The installation was very poor however. The engineer was called Murray and he did not have enough of the white internal trunking so made various excuses to take the wiring via a different route from the one planned. He drilled into an internal brick wall unnecessarily and allowed brick dust to settle on my surfaces and belongings without making any effort to cover them. He said he did not carry any dust sheets for this purpose. He then had to discard the hole he had made and take the wiring a different way. It was totally avoidable. He was still at the house at 7.15pm working in the dark outside and having to turn off the electricity in the evening when the family was home instead of earlier in the day when it would have been less disruptive. The job was not completed so another engineer had to attend another day. The second engineer was extremely professional and good.

Very unnecessarily drawn out experience, that seemed to take 2 weeks to each stage. I rang up 5 or 6 times with up to 50 minute waits as I rarely got answers to my e-mails(even though that's what they ask you to do). The initial stage of ordering was cancelled and after that it took 7 weeks to get it installed. When I did speak to the people on the phone they were very polite and helpful but clearly overworked. Not their fault for my poor scoring. Install on the day was done by a local company and they were excellent.

Although placing the order was a simple experience, the logistics on the installation date was awful. I had the installation cancelled 4 times and this was generally either cancelled the evening before the installation date or else was cancelled on the day of installation. I had taken days leave for each of the "arranged" installation dates. However when the engineer did turn up, and he was on time, the installation was simple and he took time to show me how it all worked. Get the logistics of the installation dates sorted and it will be a 5 star rating, however this did let the score down so I gave a 2 star.

Has Pod Point database been hacked? Today I had a scam email pretending to be from Pod Point to my account email saying the usual log in to fake link or account will be cancelled. Then Google search found a Which report saying Pod Point data was a security risk :-(

Cleared my garage out for 90 mins ahead of installation on a Thursday. Engineer called in sick so installation was postponed. Had to put everything back into my garage. Communication was provided & slot confirmed for Sat 8-12. Emptied garage again. Had plans but my mother in law stayed in the house to await engineer arrival. No return e-mail when engineer didn't show. Provided telephone number rang out. Random number called me at 1.30 & said he would be with me after 2. Had to cancel afternoon plans but install was then successful. Could put things back in my garage again. Sickness happens. Communication & management after that V poor

Please be aware that pod point will take your money upfront and then send you forms to fill in and take your own photos as the survey. At no point do pod point do any work. The installation, subcontracted out, was good.

Bad communication and very tricky to get on the phone. Never showed up to install and had to wait a month for the next date. Overall took 3 months to get installed.

First, let me say the two fitters I had was spot on and I had absolutely no issues with either of them who both kept me informed and explained what they were doing. However, the rest of my experience was poor both in communication and delivery. I sent all the pictures (three times) of my house and where the connection would be required. On the first occasion, the fitter arrived and explained he had been booked out on a second job and wouldn't have time to finish it I explained that I had sent you all my details and he said well he won't have time to finish. I then had to go through the rigmarole of trying to re-book your fitters which was appaling, I was then told I had to pay an additional fee of over £150. When your second fitter came he believed he was there for a full install, in fact, he had the job completed in no time, all very poor from your side

The installation of my POD is generally fine, however, I am very disappointed that the trip switch is located directly next to the point, on the external wall of my property. The technician didn't discuss this with me at all before installation. Surely this trip shouldn't be accessible from outside the property? I know it's ultimately a safety tool, but it would be good from a security perspective if I could switch the point off whilst on holiday for example; as it stands, I cannot do that. For that reason, I am ultimately very disappointed with the end result.

Pre installation was very difficult and as a customer, I felt isolated and on my own as I was unable o speak to anybody about the requirements for the order to progress. Installation was great and a much better experience

The man who fitted the pod point told us that the control panel on it had broken during the installation and he could not fix it. He said podpoint would be in touch and someone from the maintenance team would contact us. He also left quite a mess from drilling, dust all over a bench next to the charger and tried to glue a piece of brick back into the house that had broken. I contacted podpoint after 1 week but there are no notes left on the computer regarding the installation. I was told that the lady who dealt with my booking would be in touch. I am still awaiting a phonecall to follow this up 3 weeks later. We have used the charger and it actually seems to be working, however it will not connect to wi fi for me to use the app.

Installation is not at the level I would expect from a national company. Wire left hanging loose, shoddy pinning of wire to walls, ducting poorly fitted and not all installed or capped/connected at end, marks left on ceiling, alarm sensor not reinstalled after being removed to make job easier, fitter turned up had forgotten stuff, left a total mess brushed dust into corner (including a wedding invite he had knocked of fridge) left prompt at 1800 like he had somewhere more important to be saying he would be back to finish and has not turned up to do so. Lock that was ordered at initial purchase not delivered or installed. Overall, I'm not impressed with fitting. Preinstalation page does not provide enough space for all the pictures that would assist planning, I ended up having to crop all the pictures, losing the details that would assist in the planning process.
