A waste of £90. The engineer arrived. I described the problem (Bosche wasing machine, F.21 code and a scraping sound for a few days before). He didn't even bother to switch the machine on He said it needed a new motor and was going to charge £290 for it. A quick online search saw the exact same motor available for £150. I told him I would sort it out myself.

Far TOO expensive, obscene amount for such a fleeting visit, will not use it again.

My freezer failed and I foolishly chose a local company Glotech to come to my house to do an assessment (looking at the good reviews and ignoring the bad ones). Within 5 minutes of arrival the technician decided that the compressor was faulty. A new compressor would cost £400 (Bosch tells me they cost around £100) and there was no guarantee that it would fix the problem. Then the technician said the pipe at the back was corroded and the gas fluid was leaking out, to get the gas replaced was not a guaranteed fix. At this point it seemed to me that the preferred choice of action would be to obtain a new freezer so I thank them for their help and bid them on their way. After 30 minutes the freezer seemed to be working again and sure enough it was chilling so we put water in the icetrays ice and it froze and was operational for the next two days. I decided to ring Glotech and speak to a manager, I was told they would put me through to a Beatrice however then it transpired Beatrice was in a meeting with HR and was not available and would ring me back. This call actually never happened, she never rang back, after two days I decided to try again and asked to speak to Beatrice. I was put on hold and it rang for about 10 to 15 minutes, then the call just dropped out. So, I called again and was told that Beatrice was in the warehouse trying to sort out a problem and was unavailable, I was told that if I left a number she would ring back. Well here I am still waiting and no phone calls from Beatrice. It would seem that customers are low down on the priority list for Glotech; HR and warehouse all are more important than customers. I have seen bad reviews on Trustpilot and since my experience, I very clearly mirror them with the treatment that I have received. I'm left with no choice that having wasted the best part of £100 on a company who were trying to convince me to buy new freezer from them, that I want nothing more to do with this company and will go and buy my new freezer from a reputable company.

I would not use Glotech again ! Despite clearly describing the problem in the booking form along with the make & model of the Washing Machine, they still proceeded with a visit and charged me £90 for a 5 minute visit to tell me that a repair would cost more than a new washing machine. I feel this probably happens quite a lot. Their website does not mention anywhere that the £90 fixing fee would still be charged even if the machine cannot be repaired. To add further insult, I received an email afterwards: "We hope your Zanussi Freestanding Washing Machine is back to its normal self and giving you a helping hand with your daily household chores!" & "Now that your appliance is back up and running why not protect it against any further breakdowns?" Not happy at all. That's time and money wasted.

No engineer turned up and when I called customer service they simply said they didn't know why and there was nothing they could do. they did not seem surprised. Not even an apology for the wasted time.

Our fridge/freezer broke so we called Glotech. Failed to find the problem in 2 visits. They tried to charge us £80 for a new piece. We went to some one else and they found ice had blocked the back and r didn’t need any new pieces.

The Engerniear came in to My house with the full knowledge about my wine cooler after I left a note about the faults that where wrong with it and then he was in my house 30 seconds opened the fridge door and said we need a new compressor and the office will call me tomorrow with a quote for the part supplied by them and then charged me £95 for the visit. Next day I had to call the office as they never made contact and the person who answered my call was so rude he actually laughed when I told him about the situation that happened the day before with his engineer he thought it was funny a man spent 30 seconds in my house and only opened the wine cooler door and diagnosed that it needed a new compressor without even looking at the back the back wine cooler and left with £95 oc my hard earned money and to add insult to injury the customer help line told me a new compressor is £729 for the particular model and that includes free fitting that was included in my call out fee of £95 please these people are a joke and only out to get the call out fee I am asking you to try other companies I also managed to get the same compressor for £145 on line and it was the same make and model

Not professionals! I have booked an engineer for my dishwasher and on the day of the visit they called and cancelled it because the engineer had called in sick. Made another booking, a week later. I received a call from the engineer 8.00 in the morning informing me that he will be arriving in 10 min. I kindly asked to give us 20 min to take our child to school. He agreed but still arrived at the house in 10 min and he started talking to my wife, in a not so polite way, that he can not wait because it is not cost effective, about things in the contract that we had agreed and left. This discussion took place for about 15 min, in which my wife could have dropped the child and returned. Also, my wife had to book 2 days off to be home for the visits that never happened! As about customer service, was not helpful at all! It is sad when you realise that they just care about their own profits and nothing else!

Engineer spent hours on the machine before he left he told me the machine is useable I’ve changed the brushes although the motor needs replacing, Next day I turned on a wash before I left out, & to know it had started leaking all over the kitchen floor, and the motor went with a burning smoke smell? If my daughter wasn’t home, my home would have been on fire! Not happy with glotech will ring to register a complaint

I phoned the Dereham office on 13/5/23 explained the heating element in my fan oven had gone - job booked for 16/5/23. I offered the lady I spoke to the part number that their Essex office had used when they repaired my oven in 2021. But she said she would source that. They contacted me on 15/5/23 for payment I mentioned the heater element, they reacted as though I had never told them about it. Said they would have to order part and repair was moved to 18/5/23. On 16/5/23 I had a call from their head office to say their engineer was out of area on 18/5/23 and then on 2 weeks holiday. I asked them to contact Essex office who had repaired same problem back in 2021. They came back to me to say no-one was available so I cancelled repair. Why when they spoke to me on 15/5/23 did they move the repair to 18/5/23 knowing the engineer was out of area. I cannot believe that the lady in the Dereham office taking bookings for repairs would not know that the engineer was out of area and then on holiday.

Made appointment online for washer repair. Engineer asked a few questions and diagnosed bearing had gone and advised £400+to repair… without any testing! Charged me £90 for 3 minute appointment. Told me the office would be able to get me a new machine…prices matched to any major retailer, and fitting and disposal would be half price as I’d paid for call out. Found the bosch machine I wanted from John Lewis £769… same machine £999 from glo tech. Lady advised they would reluctantly price match… called back to place order and surprise surprise it was the last machine and was now out of stock 5 minutes later…. Funny that!!

I took out a 'repair and protect' policy with them for an appliance for a year. I never received details of the policy, only a DD instructions. I chased them for it for a while, but then I forgot. They did the repair and started to draw the DD. I have 12 flats and something is always going on with them, but recently I suspected that the Glotech policy should have ended a while ago. In fact they drew the money for a further 10 months. No renewal notification, nothing. I just called them to ask for my money back. Talked to Amna who was singularly unhelpful. She said they sent me the policy... I never received it... And it's in their terms and conditions that they just keep drawing the money until I cancel it. What?!?! That's underhanded. Every other insurance policy asks you if you wish to renew after 12 months. They advertise it for 12 months!!! Not sure I would have spotted this little gem even if I did receive the T&Cs and they don't point this out verbally when you take the policy out. She was not willing to refund the overpayment, kept saying we emailed you the T&C's. Glotech just lost my custom forever. They are a rogue, money grabbing and underhanded company.

The communication from engineer to office and back to the customer was poor. The engineers are contractors and are working for more than one company and also their own work, my particular engineer was also part of the trust a trader network and was taking their callouts as well. Sadly, my experience was that the company was tethered in red tape and forms and processes and it did not leave the engineer with any flexibility to find a fix. He cam, reported a fault, or confirmed our fault. Then instructed the office to order the part. And then I then had to chase the office for one, what was needed, and the price, and then schedule in the engineer again. A local engineer would of gone and purchased the part if it was available and fitted it there and then, or if it wasn't stock ordered it and then scheduled to come back, it just seemed there was no interest other than schedulling a return. I understand the engineer is paid per visit even though, we as glotech customers pay one fixed fee that covers any amount of visits the engineer has to make. From what I was quoted for the first part, glotech build this in, as the cost of the parts are priced well above what they are to buy, which is no consolation after paying the fized fee as once you've paid it you are pretty much committed to staying with them and ordering the part. My broken appliance was a dishwasher, which had never been used from new (it was in a new build and that was 8 years ago) so it wasn't through use or wear and tear. After being told after fitting one part, that it needed another to get it working, I decided to take the loss of the fixed fee and ordered a new appliance from aO.com as it was cheaper than ordering just the second part that i was told was needed, and there was still then the doubt, would we need a third part? I also paid a local heating and plumbing company to fit and didn't call glotech out as it wasn't covered as they didn't supply the new appliance. (which was the glotech fee, so I'd of been better in hinsight to of just brought a new one) hindsight is a wonderful thing! I used glotech wanting a professional service and a quick guaranteed fix. I didn't expect them to be using contractors. I wish i'd of used a local plumbing and heating engineer, It would of been cheaper long term and they'd of been more efficient with the inconvenience and visits which cost time and money off work. I'll not be using glotech again and I wouldn't recommend them.
