Having made an online appointment it was cancelled and I was told to phone and rebook. I did this on and off all day but no one answered my call. I have now booked with another company.

1st appointment cancelled at last minute , waited in all morning for the 2nd appointment to be told that the engineer couldn't park his van!! We live near a main road in Scarborough! No apology from anyone. Wouldn't recommend and won't be trying to use them again!

Engineer had to come out three times. The margin on parts is extortionate. First visit the engineer was here for about 5mins without actually looking inside the appliance (an oven) to basically confirm my description of the issue. Ordered wrong parts which was ascertained on the second visit when he actually opened the appliance up, so third visit for the fix, of which I am not impressed by end result (CPU board with clock display which is now a bit wonky). Oh and I am still waiting refund for the parts I unnecessarily paid for (which were c.50% more expensive than if I went direct to manufacturer). In short, looked like good value, but underlying it cost me more than a new oven with an underwhelming fix. I suppose I can still cook with it, but I won't be using them again.

BEWARE. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE A MACHINE PROBLEM. THEY WILL NOT SERVICE A MACHINE TO GET IT WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN. I booked Glotech to come to look at a Samsung Tumble dryer that wasn't drying properly. They sent an engineer who didn't even open the machine. He took a look in the heat exchange compartment and tried to use our hoover on it. There is absolutely no way this would work as there is too much moisture. He then said the machine was a write off and we should get a replacement. This is simply not true. You can find videos on youTube showing how to service machines. Glotech refuse to do this. When I booked Glotech I assumed that they would send an engineer who would be able to repair the machine and get it working properly again as although the machine is now out of warranty it is not that old and there is little wrong with it. Frankly I can do this myself but I would prefer an expert to do it. When I complained Glotech sent another engineer who did nothing more than look at the machine and confirm what I already know and had told them. The machine needs the heat exchange thoroughly cleaning. Glowtech now tell me that they don't do this work. They differentiate between repairs which to them is supplying a replacement parts and servicing which would involve cleaning. I get the feeling their real interest is to upsell a new machine to be honest. No where on their website, in the process of booking, in their booking confirmations is there anything where they state that they won't clean a unit (service) and only repair (supply replacement parts). Glotech are refusing to refund me despite the fact that I was very clear that the unit had a problem which required the heat exchange unit to be cleaned from the start. I find it disgusting that a company who protray themselves as being a family run business and an honest value for money service are acting in this way and I am now determined to make sure others don't incurr costs with them and face a similar fate. The fact that they are writing off machines which just need cleaning is damaging for the environment. PLEASE THINK VERY HARD ABOUT CALLING THEM TO FIX YOUR MACHINE.

I am sorry to say that this Company (who I hadn't used before),let me down at every level. On two consecutive days in in mid February they cancelled appointments because of a problem with their van and I wasted all that time waiting for them. Then finally the engineer came on the third day and spent 10 minutes diagnosing a new part. A few days later they said the part would be £369. For this service I paid £125 up front. When I complained, their attitude was 'terms and conditions'. I asked about a complaints process and they hadn't got one (or at least not one they would tell me about). I shan't use them again.

Be aware that when using this company you may have to pay twice (or more) for several visits before they actually fix your appliance. In order to prevent any issues, I wanted to change the seal in my SMEG dishwasher and requested an engineer. However, shortly after his visit, it started leaking (it didn't have any leakage before!). Despite this issue, they stated that the engineer wasn't at fault and that they could not be liable as the part was provided separately, even though it had been purchased through the official website according to the specification of the dishwasher. The customer service suggested another engineer to fix my dishwasher but I had to pay again for the visit. I found it's very unprofessional and canning because of the following reasons: First of all, the engineer should have: *warned me that the company isn't responsible if the part provided by clients; *informed me if the part provided was unsuitable; *suggested a Glotech's part instead to get an after-service guarantee; * and, most importantly, checked if his work was of a good standard and the appliance was in working order! For a few days, the water leaked under the kitchen unnoticed before the paddle covered a significant area of the kitchen floor. Secondly, I would accept that the faulty part was a problem, but now I CAN'T TRUST that the second visit will be the last one, and they will repair their repair. It would be easier and cheaper to buy a new one than to use the Glotech repair.

I contacted Glotech in July 2023 to request an engineer to fix the ice maker in my freestanding fridge freezer. I paid the call out fee over the phone as requested . Unfortunately the engineer was unable to repair it as it required a part from Siemens. I was then asked to pay for the part upfront as it needed to be ordered. Several months passed and I’d heard nothing from Glotech so I contacted them to request an update. I was told they didn’t have an update and it was still on order. I expressed my displeasure that there didn’t appear to be any monitoring of my part order and that I’d had to chase it myself. I called Glotech several more times and had the same response. In fact that it might not be possible to get the required part as my freezer is circa 10+ years old. In December I received two calls from them suggesting that I would be updated in the new year. Last week I had a call from Glotech saying the part now wasn’t available and suggesting either a credit or a refund. I have finally received a refund of £240.25 not the £330.19 I was expecting as they have deducted the call out fee which I paid prior to the engineer’s visit in July. I don’t generally write reviews but I feel very disappointed.

We had a booking between eight and 1. I called at 830 to get a time estimate. They told me it would probably be closer to 2. At 2:15 they said they were behind. Maybe 430. Then at 430 I called again. After taking a day off work, waiting all day they tell me they won't be able to make it. They never called me. I called each time. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They said he would call right back. Instead I got a call the next morning during my teaching time. They wanted me to take ANOTHER day off work. I asked for a late afternoon or Saturday. That was not a choice. The man said appointments are not guaranteed. Since when? If I cancel the website says I an be charged.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, as many reviews stated, they will come around, charg you, tell you that somebody will call regarding the pricing of the part, and after chasing them they will tell that the part is not available or that they couldn't find it, when I first spoke to the man on the phone he literally said that they able to fix 95% of appliances, well not mine and from what I can see from other reviews they definitely DO NOT fix 95% of appliances,I'm starting to question if they don't do it on purpose as there are lots of 1 star reviews stating exactly the same problem, part not found or not available or whatever, sound a bit like bs for a company that can fix almost every appliances, ended up spending 90£ for someone to come and tell me what I already knew, robbing people, ridiculous

I opted for Glotech repairs due to the promise of 'fully equipped vans'. After booking I received two emails - one from Glotech confirming the appointment and another from a company I hadn't heard of asking me to confirm the appointment. I contacted the latter to tell them I hadn't booked them and they told me they were subcontractors to Glotech. Glotech hadn't disclosed the use of subcontractors - their (Glotech) words being the work would be done by one of their 'local engineers'. During the booking call, I mentioned that my plumber had said it was likely to be the pump - however, the engineer who came didn't have that part. He told me to wait for an email with a quote for the part, which once I accepted, could be ordered and then, when it arrived, could be fitted. On reaching out to Glotech for the quote and they directed me to the sub-contracted firm. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the lack of transparency regarding subcontracting for this very reason - that I was being told to deal with a separate company instead of Glotech who I had actually engaged. The Glotech representative argued that their mention of "one of our local engineers" implied subcontractors. When I pointed out that using the word local between 'our' and 'engineer' does not mean subcontractors. He dismissively rejected this saying it was a matter of semantics and I was the only person to be confused by this. I have no problem with the actual firm that the work has been subcontracted to but I do not like the empty promise of a fully equipped van, the lack of transparency regarding who is carrying out the work and I didn't like the attitude of the Glotech representative I spoke to the second time.

Unfortunately despite the one of labour charge at the sum of £112 they then provide you with a quote for a repair that is far from competitive. As a non expert i can procure a compressor direct from the manufactures as in Hotpoint considerably cheaper than Glotech, they also cannot guarantee a re-gas hence defeats the object of a repair. In summary it is nothing more than a sales gimmick as in one of fee than provide you with a unrealistic cost for repair hence cheaper to procure brand new fridge freezer ! I can only imagine that they make £112 per visit and do not carryout any repairs by providing an unrealistic, uncompetitive cost for repair of which they cannot guarantee such as a re-gas hence defeats the object. Never trust a company has nothing but 5 star reviews as again making money by simply paying you a visit knowing if they provide you with a unrealistic cost for repair so therefore they don't have to supply any labour at £112 one off fee. If I can obtain the part cheaper direct from the manufactures than them of who, should have a better rate than me as in a one off then they are far from competitive. I will ensure get this out to as many social platforms as possible to prevent people from being ripped off!

Avoid this company- I wish I had the read the previous reviews It is a call centre who give work to independent engineers who live in your area. All parts are ordered through Glotech (you pay before they can be ordered) so parts first arrive with Glotech and then forwarded to engineer so expect a long delay between visits; eg 2 weeks. I had 3 parts fitted across 2 visits and still my machine was not working and so offered another visit (3 weeks) Gave up and had it fixed by CheckaTrade engineer, who having asked me several questions to establish the fault, arrived following day and replaced the first part fitted by Glotech as it was the wrong size (ie too small) for my machine. I wonder how many visits it would have taken for this to have been resolved by Glotech (if ever) and how many other parts could have been replaced before it cost me more than a new machine. Shocking company and an expensive mistake made by me for using it.

Three Engineer visits, expensive new part and still not fixed. Have spent over £200 and got nothing to show for it. Their offer is to order yet another part from them at over £100, but who knows if this would actually work, they certainly don't. Avoid this company.

Extremely expensive! Extremely rude and late engineer! Had to wait 5 days to get a ‘simple’ standard dishwasher part, (simple YouTube’ing told me that! Engineer arrived in a brand new Coupe Mercedes, not even a van! Carried no ‘basic’ parts! A time slot to return to fit the part of 8:00 till 5:00 pm! … whilst I take a whole day off work! … culminates in a complete rip off and bad customer service and consideration! NOT USING AGAIN! EVER!

I booked for a repair for my tumble dryer. The engineer visited and didn't have the part. I paid him for the visit, which included his return visit for the repair. Head office then rang to say it was a two person job and I would have to pay for another engineer. Total cost would be more than a new machine. The refused to refund me for my initial payment. Terrible service. Company trying to rip off customers

Do avoid at all costs. The main aim is to get your money and then to say sorry it’s unrepeatable without even talking a multimeter out or any other means to diagnose the fault. No diagnosis was offered apart from it could be this or it could be that. 40% success rate if that is tried bla bla bla Very disappointed and can only surmise how much money is made through this kind of scam

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Technician came 3 times, each time not resolving the issue and even making it worse !! No admission of mistake, completely dishonest and charged for repairs that not only did not resolve the issue but completely destroyed the machine !!!! supposedly I put paper in the machine and I am responsible ?! Like a piece of paper accidentally getting in the drum could destroy a machine and they also couldn't fix that in 3 visits ???!!

Charged £80 for call out lasting 7 mins. When I got quote for over £500, they added repairs that did not need doing but when questioned about the extra work got told they don’t just change bearings. True cost off repairs is £200 Not very environmentally friendly changing parts that are working find and have no need to be changed Cannot understand why they need to change so many parts

I booked a wine cooler repair via a third party (Mix Repairs). They turned up, charged £90 and said they needed to order a part and then didn’t hear anything further from them. When I chased them they said the part was no longer available and so I’d need a new cooler. Total rip off.
