AVOID. (job reference 1257384, 1268669) Initial Visit (£105): Our induction hob was repeatedly tripping the mains. Despite clearly explaining the issue, the engineer’s diagnostic method was limited to boiling water on the hob. He concluded that the appliance was “as good as gold.” No further checks were carried out, and the fault persisted. Second Visit: When the problem worsened, the same engineer returned. Again, his approach was to boil water on all four zones, which resulted in both sides of the hob and the touch screen failing completely (they were functioning prior to his visit). He then advised that both sides of the hob required replacement. We paid £700 for parts. Repair Attempt: The engineer arrived alone, despite stating that a second engineer would assist. The repair did not resolve the issue. We were subsequently informed that the touch screen board also needed replacing—something that could have been avoided had the fault been correctly diagnosed during the first visit. Damage Caused: After the engineer left (having ensured we signed his touchscreen), we discovered scratches on our kitchen island and a cracked induction hob screen. Customer Service: We have made multiple attempts to contact GloTech via phone and email, but all communication has been ignored. In total, we have spent £805, yet we are left with a non-functional hob, additional damage to our kitchen, and no accountability from GloTech. This level of service is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. We strongly advise others to avoid using GloTech. Our experience has been costly, frustrating, and completely unsatisfactory.

Job ref: 1268231 See my earlier review. This did prompt some immediate action from Glotech who phoned to say they would supply the dishwasher part - free of charge - and to fit it at a time to my convenience. Second phone call the next day came from a different person informing me that, as a gesture, they were providing the part free of charge. I said I already knew that (please refer to earlier review - communication clearly not strong). We arranged that they would come this morning and I asked - more than once - to ensure that it was an early morning appointment, not least because I had been told it would be an appointment to my convenience. (I also phoned yesterday. as a professional courtesy, to inform them that my mobile phone was playing up, and to request that they use the landline.) The booking confirmation, as before, said '8-1.00 despite my request for an early booking, and the promise of a time to suit me. It is now 12.40. Glotech called @ midday - using my mobile number, obviously, not the landline as requested. (Fortunately the mobile is now functioning.). They called to say the engineer was running late. I pointed out that he would be very late if we were talking about an initial appointment for 8-10. They said he was 'delayed' and would be 'on his way'. I pointed out that, having been waiting since 8.00, 'on his way' is absolutely no use to me. Apparently he will arrive between 1-2 - so much for an early morning appointment. And this is most definitely not to my convenience. Waiting in all morning for this sixth appointment has meant that I have missed an appointment I have paid for - cost £20 - and had to pay for an Uber for a guest who I'd promised to take to the station - cost £10. Will I get recompense for these? Is there any compensation for six visits, resulting in my waiting in for 5 hours (and more today) each time? Are customers normally meant to wait in for six visits for a simple dishwasher repair? I have given this review one star as I have to give it something in order to be able to submit this review. The engineer who did finally turn up at just before 2.00 appears to have done a fair job but, in summary: 6 visits; waiting time can be more than five hours; no times to suit customer requirements, even on the sixth visit; phone call from (so called) customer service appears to have no concept of how to deal with customers; communication within the company appears none existent. In total, a poor experience. I would urge customers to not use Glotech.

Customer care. Zero. I do not recommend this company. Appointment made in good faith. Then had a call to rearrange the time we had agreed on. Waited in all afternoon (12 - 5pm) No engineer turned up. No contact made. I phoned to enquire what was happening at 4.30. No explanation was given. A very unreliable company.

This company took £140 call out fee to confirm what I had texted when I made the appointment Assured they could mend my Miele dishwasher which needed a part Two weeks later and a further £204 for part and extra visit the Glotec technician was dumbfounded when trying to replace the failed part my machine lite up like a chrismas tree Exclaimed he had never seen any thing like it and legged it .I did what I should have done in the first place and contacted Miela . What a farce Do not use this company Go to the makers after sales they all have their own technicians who are product trained

I’m very disappointed with the service from Glotech Repairs. We called to book a repair for our tumble dryer that wasn’t drying clothes properly. During the call, we explained the issue in detail and mentioned that the machine was about six years old. When the technician arrived (on Tuesday, 14th October 2025), he immediately told us that the part needed to fix the issue wasn’t worth replacing and that self-condensing tumble dryers generally only last around five years. He then charged us £95 for the call-out, even though this was information that could easily have been shared over the phone. If Glotech had given the correct advice during the booking call, we would never have gone ahead with the appointment or paid the fee. We raised this with them, but they refused to take any accountability or offer a refund. Very disappointing experience — poor communication and no sense of responsibility for misleading customers. I would not recommend Glotech Repairs based on this experience.

No problem in arranging the appointment, Ray came to fix our fridge. Did an excellent job in 45 minutes. Really happy with the service. Would use them again.

I would draw your attention to the following statement extracted from Glotech's own website and prior to a repair order being raised. This is completely misleading because I had to pay for a second visit, a fact only presented to me after the initial order was raised. Further, the part required took an unacceptable time to arrive and then the date for the final repair was set for days after that; the repair date should have been pre-empted. I was then given an all day appointment despite the fact that you say that am and pm appointments are available. I feel that there has been a complete lack of interest and urgency throughout this matter. "Washing Machine Repair Service In London & Nationwide Here at Glotech we are washing machine repair experts and have been carrying out washing machine repairs in London for over 40 years! We can repair your machine and have it back up and running quickly- with same day and next day appointments available. Your machine can be repaired for a small one-off labour charge. This will cover you for the entire repair. If you need any parts then we just charge for these on top. Once back up and running you will receive our six months Glotech guarantee on the same fault, and any parts fitted. Book an engineer's visit online, or call our friendly staff today on 01727896798 for more information about our washing machine" All in all I was without my washing machine for two weeks and was chased for final payment even before the repair was done. All in all, poor customer service.

⭐ 1 Star – Avoid! Shocking Customer Service from Glotech Repairs (Cottingham) Initially, Glotech seemed helpful when booking an engineer for my elderly parents, one of whom is disabled and lives in a bungalow. However, the experience quickly turned into a nightmare. The engineer did not call ahead as promised by the office and simply turned up unannounced. The fridge freezer is only a couple of years old and just out of warranty. The engineer advised it was a manufacturing fault and that repairs would be too expensive or unreliable. He said the office would send a report and invoice, as Argos had agreed to replace the appliance if it was confirmed not fixable. Since then, I’ve chased repeatedly for the report – made several phone calls, asked for call-backs that never came, and only eventually received an invoice with a vague description (no mention of the manufacturing fault). When I explained how urgent the situation was, as my disabled mum has been left without a working fridge freezer for weeks, one staff member even laughed on the phone. This has left my parents not only without access to food but also without safe storage for vital medical supplies that must be kept refrigerated to keep my mum alive. Avoid this company at all costs. Shocking customer service, zero compassion, and no accountability once they’ve received payment!

I call for a repair and in five minutes I was told it cost 400 pounds and it took 3 days to order a part and then book for engineer to replace the part and it took about a week to get the things sorted.call out charges are very expensive.not recommended.if your appliances are old better be replaced new appliances.

I have had my repair cancelled 4 times for all different reason of Glotech, man sick, van broken down etc and had to take 4 days off work. Disgraceful service . All I wanted was a good repair service and completed, which has caused me lots of stress

I had glotech out for a quote to fix a wine cooler. I was originally told that i would need to pay £85 for a call out. The man that came to look at it told me it can be repaired, it needed fans and possibly a compressor but it could be fixed. Then charged me £105 for call out with no explanation for the increased cost. I called for the quote to fix it to be told that they can’t get access to the parts and I had to call the manufacturer. Beware of them bumping up prices and then not doing the actual work to fix it! I would never use this company to fix anything and will be telling everyone else to do the same. They should be ashamed of themselves taking money so freely from people.

Disappointed in many levels. Positive that they were quick to respond and showed up when expected. Diagnosis took 5 minutes. Paid £95 because apparently that covers any labour in case the part is available. No call back regarding the part for a few days, had to chase myself. Got a quote for the part and was not worth fixing. Which means no labour from their side. Was told that I would be offered a quote on new appliance and a discount will be offered too. No email for a few days, had to chase that too. Turns out the quote was about £100 more expensive than online prices for the same appliance and the discount offered was £25. My impression is all the money being made for the company comes from the initial visit. £95 for a 5 minute visit is not bad at all. Ended up buying a used one for the same fee as their visit. Wish I never bothered with them.

Would not use this company again, I was charged £105 for somebody to visit for less than 5 minutes to look at the error code and tell me they won’t repair my appliance. I think they really need to look at their pricing structure to charge for callouts and repairs separately as I feel very ripped off

I arranged a washing machine repair a week in advance and took the whole day off work, I’m self employed, was told they would attend between 8am-5pm, nobody showed up and not even a call, I had to call them and they were quite person I talked to was quite rude saying it was beyond their control and would not be able to help. I’m raging 😡 avoid this company!!!

Charged £175 for spending five mins to give me the same reason that I mentioned on the call prior to the engineer visit that the motor has failed for the cooker hood, given me a quote for new cooker hood and charging £180.00 labour to fix it, seems unfair and a complete rip off, stay away from this company.

Charged £105 for just a call out. Was told the new part would be ordered and fitted but was then informed after paying that the part was no longer available. Did not receive any compensation. Please avoid at all costs.

Avoid! Eye watering charges, little help and poor customer service. Charged over £300 for diagnostics which took a matter of minutes and no resolution leaving 2 out of 3 appliances still not fixed. Even the engineer agreed that these charges were excessive. Difficult to get hold of customers services on 3 attempts at calling. Offered a 10% discount only which is clearly inadequate. I will avoid using Glotech again both personally and professionally (rental business). Very disappointed.

I would not recommend using this company. We had to book two repairs for two separate appliances, which I did not initially think would be an issue. We gave the make and model numbers, meaning the company would have known full well the age of the appliances and the availability, or lack of, of parts. The engineer was polite, prompt etc, but told us that, given the age of the appliances they could not source parts. We were charged two sets of fees by Glotech, paid in advance, for call out fees and labour, despite the fact that no labour was provided and only one call out visit made.
