The person I spoke to on the phone was not enthusiastic about their job and therefore not helpful. They also gave inaccurate information (that the black box) would be a plug-in, so I took out the policy on this information. Thankfully I was able to phone again and cancel the policy, though not before I had to argue that as I was cancelling within 14 days the cancellation fee did not apply. Staff need better training and/or better managers

Will not advise anyone to buy a policy from wise. Don't be fooled by there prices. The headache is not worth it.

Acceleration constantly in the very poor area of the graph, every other aspect is near 100% so makes no sense at all, you may try fob off with there's no abnormalities with the box if it's recording the other scores but when multiple people are reporting the same thing whether it be Acceleration or breaking there's obviously a problem, I got an email to say my premium would go down but now my Acceleration is dropping rapidly which makes my score drop 1 by 1 affecting my premium of course, I won't be paying any money if poor Acceleration continues to be recorded and I see the scores change infront of me, what an absolute scam. Might aswell be pushing the car with an Acceleration score of 0.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We have tested the telematics device and there are no anomalies or issues with the data that is being recorded. We have hints and tips on our website on how to improve the acceleration score. When it comes to acceleration, easy does it! It is widely accepted that many accidents are a result of dangerous or risky driving maneuvers and driving aggressively. You can improve your acceleration score by increasing your speed gently and driving smoothly. This will not only improve your score but will also save you money on fuel. When you need to stop or slow down, decelerate smoothly to allow yourself more time to think about what's coming up on the road ahead. You can also change gear earlier: try changing up at an engine speed of around 2,000 rpm in a diesel car or around 2,500 rpm in a petrol car. Absolutely terrible service. Had issues with dodgy brake readings in black box. They say it's all fine when braking score is 0 and only happens when car is driven short distance. Customer service are very unhelpful. Unable to talk to anyone who can provide a proper answer. Would recommend avoiding this company

Hello, We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the policy. If there was an anomaly with the box, all the scores would be 0. The same instrument measure acceleration and braking, so if you have a different score for both behaviors, the box is working as it should. If you would like more in depth data on your braking score, we can provide this to you. It will tell you when and where the braking score has been adversely effected. I have problem with black box to fit with toyota Prius plus and I thought so they provide me bluetooth versions. I tried to call them but no answers. Please don't buy any policy from this company they are cheaper but cheater and third class service. I will rise complain to government Portal and they should shut this type of company.

If I could put -5 stars, I would do so. Wisedriving tricks you to buy their insurance saying that they provide it cheaper than other providers. It might be true for the first year, then it will increase and you will end up paying more than paying directly to an insurance broker. On top of it, when you want to cancel their policy, they ask you to pay ~£200 for cancelling (while on their website, they only state £75 for cancelling fee- which is already high enough). They then try to menace you with credit/debt control and all kind of things to make you pay because they know you don't want your credit score to be affected. I won't let it go easily like this, Wisedriving. If anyone else is also in the same situation as us, please also contact legal service to get them investigated. Hopefully, it will stop their bad practice and help other people to do not fall into their trick.

Hello Le Dang, We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your policy. We work with a panel of insurers to find the most competitive quote available. Insurers change their rates constantly and we have no control over that. We do however, provide your renewal quote in advance of the renewal date to allow you time to shop around and make a decision. You can stop the renewal, free of charge. There is a cancellation fee of £75, if you cancel mid-term. You are also charged for the time you have been on cover and the cost of the telematics box is non-refundable. We will calculate how much money you have paid us and if this does not cover the above costs, there will be an outstanding balance to pay. We will also provide you with a breakdown of costs. We allow an amount of time for you to pay the outstanding balance but, this is not an indefinate amount of time and we do chase for debt. Many thanks, Holly

Stay away from this company. It is the worst ever insurance company. Everyday i receive emails from saying that they will cancel my insurance insurance because the black box has been removed from the windscreen when in fact its not!. The box is faulty and keeps falling off from the windscreen. When i tried to call them I have to wait at least 20-30 mins to get to someone and then they told me I need to pay an extra charge for a replacement box when in fact its their fault! Then i keep getting emails saying that my box battery is low and I need to charge it but they never supplied a charging cable in the first place! They expect you to spend money by buying a charging cable. When you charge the box after 1 month you get same issue, the battery went low again. It is just a constant pain and very frustrating. I can't wait for my insurance to end so that I leave this company. I STRONGLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! I will make a formal complaint to the relevant authority. They look like a bogus company which needs to be reported

The after sales is absolutely awful and would never recommend. I've been hung up on 3 times in one night after spending 20 minutes each time to get through. All I want to do is change the car on my policy. Disgraceful attitude !!!!!

Pathetic insurance company i have cancelled my policy they still charged for next month already I cancelled it 15 days ago they didn’t send a cancellation request to close brothers to stop my insurance credit agreement poor service they are just looting first they told me your monthly payments gonna be 53 then they said ur not good driver so they were charging me 72 when I cancelled it they saying we gonna charge me £96 and also they already charged my next month credit Wow what a pathetic insurance company I an gonna sue you I am single mother of two kids Working day and night And they are making money from looting us Shameeeeee

Hi Maryan We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your policy. To explain, your telematics box will monitor your driving behaviours (speed, acceleration, braking and time of day). You are scored on how well you drive and you can be either given a refund or an additional premium based on how well you drive. This is disclosed to all our customers prior to them accepting a quote with us. When you cancel your policy, we will calculate how much money you have paid to us, then deduct the cancellaion fee and the cost for the time you have been insured. Please also note the cost for the telematics box is non-refundable. Any direct debit payments made are taken into account. Dependent on what you have paid us versus the cost of insurance and fees, you may be either due a refund or owe us money. Upon cancellation, your credit agreement is also cancelled. Charged me £200 to change my vehicle because somehow their black boxes don't work on multiple cars, so either they use the worst black boxes known to man or just scam everyone they can out of hundreds of quid

Hi David We are sorry to hear you are unhappy. Our telematics devices are aligned to the specific vehicle on cover, therefore, when you change said vehicle, a new device needs to be installed. We do inform our customers about this and the charge applicable, at point of sale and, prior to completing a change of vehicle. Please also be advised, the cost of a new device is £150. Any other charge applied, comes from your insurer, who determine whether your insurance will cost more or less on the new vehicle. Many thanks, Holly

**AVOID!!** Don’t bother with this insurance company, more hassle than it’s worth! No one knows what they are doing when they are on the phone to you, unless you will give them more money to solve a problem that’s been going on for months! (I refuse to give them any more money!) I was told my monthly payments will be going up as my driving score had dropped all while having emails saying if my black box isn’t connected by a certain date they will cancel the insurance, I have sent numerous photos of me connecting the box but nothing seems to work, I just get passed the same info again and again and no actual help given! So which is it? Is it working or not? Can’t wait for the policy to be up so I can move to a more professional company!

Absolutely rubbish the whole insurance I can’t believe how much there trying to charge me do not go with this company at all. They promise a good price at first but the black boxes arnt even accurate at all they clearly try to get money out of you left right and Center.

Has got to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced. On hold for over half hour get cut off, not a one off either, called back and spent a further 1.5 hrs on hold. Do not use this company!!

If I could not give even a start, I would be very happy, because they do not deserve even one star. I would never recommend this insurer to none of my friends neither family. all started bad and its been fighting with them all the time. I told them that my car is kept in a locked garage and that there will be no sun light in there (obviously). They sent a device that with no power cable and now they expect me to spend money and purchase a power cable for charging it whenever it need charging. Failing to comply they are threatening me with canceling my insurance policy. Now I am forced to purchase a cable and charge the device if I don't want my insurance to be canceled. The point here is: they know the device will need charging, they provide you with a device without the charger and yet they still expect you to spend money and purchase a charger after you have paid your insurance in one installment. I cannot wait to finish my term with them as it does not worth me changing to another insurance right now, because they will not refund me the correspondent remaining of the money I paid in. If you use your car more often than what you said to them, they send you a letter threatening with canceling your policy, if you said you are using your car very often, and then you don't use it too often, also is a problem, they send you a letter threatening your with canceling your policy. even when you are not doing anything you will still have a letter threatening you with canceling your policy. Today I was on the phone with them, while I was talking, the call dropped and they never called back. they got lots of background noise whenever you are calling them, and when you try to let them know that you cannot hear them well, then they hung up the phone and never call back. For them to get on the phone is another drama. After waiting nearly 30 minutes for someone finally to pick up the phone, she started asking me all the same details I already inserted on the automatic response system they get in place. Just wasting peoples time. They are for me the worst company ever in the United Kingdom. I will never use this company in any of they services.

If I could go lower than one star I would, terrible insurance company. I’ve been on hold for an hour and still no answer. The website is complicated and the people don’t help you what so ever so avoid this insurance company at all costs.

Avoid like the plague, this is a rogue business operation! I will keep it simple, had problems installing the telematics black box at the start of the policy, immediately I was sent an email that my policy will be cancelled and that of 25th December yes - Christmas day!! Called the company to explain and request the manger to call me back before the 24th December, took them almost three weeks for a manager to call back after several persistent calls. During my attempts I was given the pathetic excuse that only ONE manger existed and they are on annual leave for three weeks, and there was no other methods of escalating my concerns. My black box was not fit for purpose and will not remain on the windscreen as the adhesive design is inadequate, it keeps falling off and subsequent to this I received another email of non compliance of the box instalment and the policy will be cancelled! After several calls to the company, and long waiting times to get through, once the agents could see from their notes, my pending issues they would put me on hold and cut the call - coincidentally. (This happened several times, and they would not call you back). Other confusing issues which are not explained at the time of taking out the policy or prior; importantly is that the the Telematic black box device does not form part of your rights to obtain a refund during your statutory UK cooling off period, should anyone wish to cancel your insurance policy, and the fee £150 is chargeable for the box plus a £70 circa cancellation fee. So when you buy the insurance you are locked in by default - which is scandalous. Another confusing aspect for the consumer is they use a separate company for their credit agreements (If you pay monthly instalments) call ‘Close Brothers Finance’, which they don’t tell you, until you receive your agreement in the post to which MUST BE SIGNED FOR! Frustratingly this is the first time I have ver had to do this for insurance. They will confuse the hell out of customers by operating under several different trading names; Close Brothers Finance, WISE and iGO4 and Pukka Services. For the end consumer, it is not made clear whom is whom! Not to mention another company that surprisingly called my on boxing day asking if I coughed in my car the night before, (seriously) who said he is not part of the insurance company but worked for their precious telematic black box company. All very bizarre trading activities I have to admit. Bad points -Non U.K. Call Centres -Extremely long waiting times to call through (anything from 20 - 45 minutes, in my experience) -Quality of the call is very poor and so is communication, you have to ask them to repeat themselves. -Black box is solar panelled but yet it requires a charging, owe not to mention they do not provide the charger!? -The box has to be accurately installed onto your vehicle's windscreen which should not be removed other tampered with otherwise you will be informed a cancellation of policy -This is the best bit; they provide you with a ‘solar panel’ enabled black box device, wait for it… That ironically requires charging, and have you know it, they don’t supply the USB C cable to charge in your vehicle. Not to mention they don’t tell you this! If you remove the device to charge it, you get penalised for it! In essence the black box device is not fit for consumer purpose and in fact it one can assume it is designed to catch you out, solely for the purpose of making more money from you. (extorting money from you by hiking you premiums so I have heard). -The the telematic black box device is more hassle than it is actually worth with WISE insurance, trust me other companies do it much better! -WISE Insuarnce is a rogue company and it is beyond belief that the insurance ombudsman haven’t already shut them down. (It’s just a matter of time). -The black box device is non-transferable to another vehicle should you wish to change your vehicle during your active policy, you will have to purchase another at fee of £150! Good points Based on their performance of severe poor customer service, after taking the policy out for only two and half months, I made a ‘wise’ decision to cancel my policy due to having no faith in the company should anything happen in future events of an accident and trying to get matters handled the correct way. It was the best thing I ever did for my peace and sanity, I have been driving for over 25 years and never have I come cross such a shambles of an operation such as WISE Insurance. My advise is stay away, and pay for reputed and established companies don’t cut cost it pays for its self. Good points Based on their performance of severe poor customer service, after taking the policy out for only two and half months, I made a ‘wise’ decision to cancelled my policy due to having no faith in the company should anything happen in future events of an accident and trying to get matters handled the correct way. As we are a broker, we work with Close Brothers Premium Finance who provide the funding for our customers who chose to pay via monthly instalments. We work alongside ThingCo who supply the telematics device and provide us with the data information. With regards to the cancellation costs, these fees are stipulated in our terms and conditions which you would have read and agreed to when you set up the policy. I can see one of our team managers contacted you to discuss the issues you raised and waived the cancellation fee as a gesture of goodwill due to the service you received.
