I take a standard size 8(42) and these were sold as such. They turned out to be a size 41 and were too small. For the price paid, I decided not to walk a mile to the nearest post office and pay to return them, so they went to the nearest charity outlet.

Bought the reiker Elton chelsea boots in darlington store I find them uncomfortable also they leak water in at the sole wouldn't recommend them

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately due to the stitching around the sole of this lovely boot, they are not waterproof. I returned my Gabor boots which were too small and had to pay £8.95 return postage. To ensure the cost if lost in transit was covered. I complained about this cost via their email which promised a response within 48 hours. I have not yet had a response. I also spoke to customer care and still have not received a response. I would not recommend using this website for purchasing footwear as it is unreasonable to expect customers to pay £8.95 if they are not a good fit.

Thank you for your review. We do recommend a tracked service but you do not have to do this. There is a link on our website to Collect + which is £4.49 and covers up to 10 kilos. You can also take a return back to any Charles clinkard store for refund. We reply to all emails within 48 hours, I have looked for one from you and can only find emails back in 2018, where we spoke to you about a handbag. I bought Gabor Jenkins boot black size 5.5, it came without the box, apparently the box was damaged !! But size 5.5 is still available to purchase!! They didn’t even pack it in another box !! Just placed it in some flimsy waxed tissue !! Not even the Gabor packing !! With no packing inside the boots either !! When I complained thry said sorry the original box was damaged!! What like on every size 5.5 !! I don’t think so !! I want the box !! So they say I now have to go to my local store to collect a box !! At my insistence they eventually agreed to refund my travel costs !! I will never shop with Clinkards again !! I expected much better customer service !! Very dissatisfied & disappointed !!

Hello Thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear your purchase wasn’t sent out to you in its original packaging. As explained unfortunately the box was damaged and we did not feel it would be acceptable to send them out in the original damaged box to yourself. We packed them in one of our boxes, wrapped in tissue but unfortunately no padding for the boots was provided which we apologise for. We always aim to send out our shoes presented to a standard we expect. I am glad to hear we managed to source you a replacement box from one of our stores and your travel costs have been covered for retrieving it. The boots I was sent were faulty. Very disappointed. They arrived in a sorry state clearly they had been sent out before and returned. Local Branch did an exchange

I recently ordered a pair of Gabor Boat wide fitting ankle boots. These boots were never wide fitting as stated. Disappointed.

Disgusted that not only are returns nor free, your collect plus returns doesn’t insure anywhere near the. Cost of 3 pairs shoes I want to return. A very expensive purchase so won’t be using you again!

Thank you for your review. As stated in our terms and conditions, delivery is free which we pay for, and any exchanges are sent to customers again at our cost, but returns are at the customer own cost. We do not have our own courier, the link on our website is to Collect+ but is an external company but you may use whichever service you wish. You can take orders back to a Charles Clinkard store, you have up to one year so long as the item is unworn or maybe send back by Royal Mail second class to keep costs low. The shoes cost £95.00 and they are too big I ordered my normal size so I know have to pay to return them this is my last purchase on the internet

You can take the shoes back to a Charles Clinkard store, you have up to one year so long as unworn, there are a few not too far away from you if you are in the area at all. There is a link on our website for £4.49 with Collect + which will cover the return of your shoes, however you may find a different postal service which is cheaper. Thank you for your review. We do have a free standard delivery offer which will be dispatched within 5 working days. There is also express at £3.99 and next day at £5.99. As we do not have our own courier we use DPD or Royal Mail, usually an overnight service. I can see that you ordered on 31st August and received on 5th September. We ordered a pair of shoes for our sons return to school. Like most people we leave this until the last week of the holidays as kids feet grow at a silly rate. Anyway we ordered them for delivery to store. Picked them up on the last Friday of the holidays. Opened them at home only to realise that the shoes where different and obviously couldn't be worn. Spoke with customer service who weren't that helpful other than advising to send them back, they also wouldn't send a replacement until these had been received back. In the end we decided to ring around all the stores closest to us and managed to locate a pair in stock, the same what we'd ordered. This store was over an hour away which in today's market probably cost me £10 in fuel. On this occasion, I was very unhappy with Clinkards.

Shoes ordered 29 August… tracking didn’t work - lost in transit. Second pair sent overnight on 6 sept. Still nothing. Waiting for some answers, but told I “might” get them by Monday. Two weeks for delivery of a pair of shoes… disappointing at best.

Terrible experience in terms of delivery. 2 pairs of school shoes ordered 2 weeks prior to new school term, delivery rescheduled 4 times due to 'unforeseen circumstances'. When DPD were contacted they were very unhelpful saying the delivery van's sat nav was down so they couldn't tell where the driver was. Eventually shoes arrived 3 days after school term started so they will be returned as I had to buy alternatives.

why say you have the stock and after it's ordered and paid you say you don't have it and all the hassel to get the money returned poor show.

Where is measured in store and then they didn’t have the shoes we wanted online so they were sent for in Paignton leather when they arrived they did not fit to drive to the retailer where was then sold the biggest size and had to buy insoles highly disappointed in the customer service when I went back to store to sort the shoes out

I ordered these sandals after you informed me that they were back in stock When I travelled 20 miles to pick them up they were a completely different colour No other sandals were available I suggest you check the items before sending them out

We are sorry to hear that this has happened. Colours can vary when you view on the website, but should have been brown as described. I am not sure what colour you received, but we only have the one colour so it must be an image problem, we are sorry if this is the case. We do hope that you find a colour that you like better. Rude and poor customer service at the Newbury store - arrived at 5.05pm (published closing time is 5.30pm) and was informed that there are no children's fittings after 5pm despite no one else waiting. There was no apology nor acknowledgement that the website does not say this. Fortunately Clarks were more helpful!
