Hello Thankyou for your review. We contacted you within 48 hours of placing the order via telephone to advise that unfortunately the supplier had advised the item was not available to send. A refund was issued for you. Additionally, the refund for the postage paid to have the items delivered was processed however we understand how disappointed you are that you didnt receive your sandals and are very sorry. Ordered shoes on Monday, received confirmation an hour later. Tuesday had an email saying shoes had been despatched. Wednesday had another email saying shoes were out of stock and my order had been cancelled. Rang to complain and told 'we try to keep our website upto date'. Hopeless, I expect much better service from Charles Clinkard.

Hello Thankyou for your review. At the point of the order being placed, the item was available with the manufacturer and the request for this item was processed. They contacted us on the 21st July to advise they did not have the items and this would now be cancelled. Order was paid for, advised for delivery - then advised that stock was all sold, therefore order cancelled and refunded. Crazy

Hotter informed us that when they went to select the shoes to be sent, they found the stock was not available and we processed the cancellation as soon as were aware. Nice shoes, fantastic phone help - appalling delivery policy, needs a signature and on a different day. Locked parcel box spurned - had to collect ON WAY TO HOLIDAY from royal Mail collection centre. Website should give the option to have signature - won’t be ordering from you again because of this - what a nightmare !

Ordered a pair of sebago boat shoes size 7, they sent a 71/2 And refused to send a shipping label. Basically blaming me for their error.

We are based in the UK and the sizes listed are also reflected as UK sizing however we do include a handy conversion for this style. A UK 7 is equivalent in Sebago to a USA 7.5 and if you were looking to have the same style showing the US7, this would be a UK 6.5 which is unfortunately not available. The sizing of these slippers bears no relation to the number on them. I am returning my latest purchase. I normally take size 12 in slippers and purchased a pair a year ago. They are so large that they fall off my feet even wearing padded hiking socks. I have now bought (and will return ) a pair of size 11 because this is in principle a nice slipper. They are so tight I need to use a shoe horn to get them on even with bare feet. Clinkard need to have a word with the manufacturer.

My order never arrived. I was told DPD had lost it! I got a refund but I really wanted the shoes but no more left. Very disappointing.

Actually working through the website and purchasing shoes was a very experience.... HOWEVER the delivery company they use DPD is/was diabolical and this does reflect on Charles Clinkard.... when you have stayed in for a delivery that DPD sent (two hour slot) and then you receive a text/email to say item has been handed to me... included is a photograph of a package leaning against a door without showing the number on the door where it was and the fact that the carpet in the corridor is totally different to the one in our block......

These sandals cost £95 and I was billed for that amount. So it was disappointing for the sandals to be delivered with a sticker inside stating that the price was only 79 euros! Why was I charged £95? This meant that I was being overcharged by £24. Needless to say these were returned for a refund, even though they were great shoes.

Disappointing. When the shoes arrived they were each a different shade of gold - the colour difference really stood out and although they fitted well, I had to return them.

Ordered biker boots never arrived after 2 phone calls to ask where they were was told they were lost in transit so refunded money but I really would of liked the boots !!

Ordered two pairs of the same shoes as was unsure what size i would be. Both of them came in a torn, battered box and one of which had a return note from a previous customer on it! Returned to my local store who were gobsmacked and extremely apologetic. Fantastic service in store but will not be ordering online again.

Thank you for your review. We are extremely sorry for the experience that you have had with your order. All items to be dispatched should be checked for quality and although a box is there to protect the shoes, if it is damaged, we can transfer the shoes to a plain box. As you are aware, we do accept unworn returns, but these should be checked carefully and any notes within the package removed. We apologise sincerely that this was not the case here. Very poor customer service. One pair of sandels when I opened the box had a sticker on it saying it was a special offer, reduced to £68 from £85. However I was charged the full price . Having rung customer services I was asked to email them a picture with order number etc. This I have done twice but have had no response. Neither is it very clear on your website that you have to pay postage on returns. I had to pay £11 to return a pair of shoes. Won’t be buying from Charles Clinkard again

Have many pairs of Gabor wide fit shoes trainers and sandals. Ordered new pair from CC. They were way too tight so asked for returns label as obviously not as they were advertised ie wide fit. They refused. Advice is to return them tracked which I did through post office. Cost over £8. Will not be using them again but going through someone like John Lewis who do offer free returns. Buyers beware!!

Thank you for your review. It is in our returns information that we ask customers to return unwanted items at their own cost. There is a link on our website to Collect + where you can buy a label for return, at a cost of £4.49, but this covers up to 10 kilo. If you have only one pair to send back, like yourself, you can use a second class postage service with an tracking added, we find that most come back at a cost of under £4 depending on the weight. You can if you wish, take the shoes back to any Charles Clinkard store if there is one near to you, and we do allow up to one full year for returns to come back so long as they are unworn. I have twice advised someone that I do not get points although I have an account online and card as when I can I shop in York. Nobody has bothered to email me about this.

New shoes already coming apart. Unsuitable shoes also returned with a cost of £5 to Yodel - disappointing. Won't be purchasing from Charles Clinkards in future.

Bought shoes that were £39.99, they arrived with a £27 sale sticker inside them. After sending them back I bought them direct from Start Rite for 24.99.
