I ordered some boots online from Charles Clinkard. They were £180. When they arrived the box was battered, the packaging scruffy, the boots were scratched, the heel marked - they had obviously been worn previously. There was even a pair of socks in the box! Not happy. Returned them to the shop to a fairly pleasant young man who didn’t seem surprised or concerned. Subsequently managed to get the boots for over £30 less and in pristine condition from an excellent company in the Midlands. Won’t shop at Clinkards again.

I received the shoes I ordered and was very disappointed. They looked very plasticky and were hard and uncomfortable. I have bought Charles Clinkard shoes many times and first time not happy at all. I returned the shoes a week ago ......tracked.....Next day delivery and still haven't received my refund.

I ordered a pair of shoes which were Clarks and great quality however they were the wrong size. I tried to exchange the shoes for a different size but was told I had to cover all postage and packaging and when I told to the customer advisor that I was unimpressed and would be sharing my experience, the advisor hung up on me. I will never use this company again and i’m horrified at the way they dealt with my request. No one has tried to come back to me to rectify my issue.

I placed an order for some sandals which I wanted for my holiday I had booked last minute. Thank fully I had them delivered to store as when I opened them to check the size found the package contained a pump which I had not ordered. Given I was going on holiday the next day I was completely left in the lurch. The ladies in the shop where lovely and returned the parcel on my behalf however was so disappointed not to have received the actual item I ordered.

The boots were damaged on arrival with a mark on the toe .Which was a good start .Ihave returned the boots but am having trouble getting my postage back as I do not have a pay pal account so they required my bank details to do a bank transfer of 3pounds and 25p the amount for the postage.Why cannot the postage just be added to the original refundded for the boots.All so long winded when you have my card details any way .

Why do you continue to separate children's footwear into 'boys' and 'girls' sections? They are just shoes and children should be free to browse different styles without feeling they have to be pigeonholed . To make things worse, each time we've visited recently and my daughters have been keen to select from the 'boys' range the shop assistants have appeared surprised and been quick to point out that they should instead be looking at the 'girls' section, leaving me feeling I have to justify the fact that my children prefer sensible, comfortable, practical shoes to those with sequins and unicorns plastered all over them. Please sort out this outdated way of organising your stores, and provide some staff training about freedom of choice and not applying judgement to those choices.

The whole process was a nightmare Very slow despatch and no advice that the shoes had reached the Cheltenham Store. Called in by chance and the shoes had been in the store for days and staff tried to say I had been emailed. This added insult to injury as I monitor my emails carefully and was waiting for the shoes. In addition there was nowhere to input my loyalty card online and shop said it was automatic. When challenged they found it was not and said they would input the purchase. I wonder…….

Was very disappointed when ordering my Cara high knee boots I asked what the fit was like and my reply was that no one had returned them I was not made aware that the boots was going to take a week for delivery if that was the case I wouldn’t have ordered as I was going on holiday needed them.The boots arrived a week later to find they were a very small fit nothing like a size 8 and also I couldn’t get the zip past my ankle I returned them and had to pay £12 postage not a happy customer false sales talk

The boots were ordered and arrived scratched and damaged with marks all over them. Unfortunately the boot didn’t get to be worn, so the scores are on the basis of my experience of when I did try them on. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the customer service levels of the staff at Stratford Upon Avon Charles Clinkard who tried to imply the damage was my fault when in fact they arrived in that state.

Would not purchase from you as you do not have a free returns policy, customers have to pay at their own expense for the return postage. Tracked is £8.99 to ensure it is returned safely or the refund will not be paid out. All online companies have a safe return policy. This should be made know to your customers when purchasing from you.

Sadly when my order arrived the childrens Doctor Martens had been worn previously and were creased . Had to return the order as as they didn’t have another pair in the size .

The Bugatti shoes I got are scratched and it is clear these have already been used. They should be replaced! Please call me on 07783974823 to advise me how to return them and be refunded. I am very disappointed and you should offer better remedial action.

You need to make it clear to customers that they have to pay return for items, themselves. Had I known that, I wouldn’t have used your online shop. It’s too expensive.

Bought a pair of boots, sadly too small. Cost me £11 to return them! I then bought the same boots from Amazon in 2 different sizes and could return the pair that didn’t fit free of charge. Boots were the same price at both Amazon and Charles Clinkard. I will not attempt to buy shoes again from you as feel it is necessary with shoes to try and sometimes return.

The website does include as much information regarding both delivery and returns to allow our customers to make an informed choice We give free delivery on orders over £40.00 and you have up to 365 days to return if unworn and in the original packing for a refund or an exchange. Returns can be taken to a Post Office or customers are welcome to take them to a Charles Clinkard store or use an alternative service convenient to you. Amazon is a marketplace and has the facility for other retailers to choose the relevant services however some will come at a premium to the customer or the store selling.
