“As I haven’t tried all the meat I ordered I don’t feel that it would be appropriate to give the full five stars. However, I ordered the steaks as part of a friendly steak competition and my steaks won. Great service and produce so far.”

“This is my second order from you, the website is great, love the ideas and recipes too. I am preparing the beef ribs and slightly disappointed on the smell. I am a chef by trade and the smell is not good, I will wash and continue to cook them, but like I say not good!”

“The beef, pork and lamb I ordered were delicous but the beef and lamb had a significantly larger portion of fat left on the meat than I'm use to. Hope this was a one off because they were recommended to me by a friend and I'd like to order from them again.”

Hi there, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. It’s great to hear that you’ve enjoyed the produce you’ve tried so far. We’re passionate about the native breeds we supply and their longevity - one of the features of these breeds is their fat content, which is more generous than modern commercial breeds. In our experience a smaller, fatter carcass gives rise to unsurpassed flavour and quality. “The first time I have ordered meat from Swaledale, but it won't be the last. So far I have only eaten the pork chops and chicken breasts. The pork was amazing, very tasty and so succulant. The chicken tasted like chicken should, really great size one breast was enough for two of us so great value. Not tried the beef or gammon yet, but can't wait. Thankyou Swaledale such great quality meat x”

“The Mallard Duck is very small and not enough for two men , it would serve two children.VERY DISAPPOINTED bought duck before and expected it to be bigger than it was seeing it said it serves two people. Apart from this above i have been very pleased with previous orders. BE AWARE IF YOU ORDER THIS ITEM IT IS VERY SMALL.”

“Meat is good, but nothing special about it., Vacuum Packing is shoddy. Outer box burst with leaking liquid. Prices are about the same as every other wholesaler. Nothing special about swaledale to hold customer interest.”

“As with any online butcher, sometimes the quality is trumped by the volumes that have to be fulfilled. Overall, I have had good experience with Swaledale, but the last few times the buthery has been questionable.”

“Absolutely first class service and, excellent produce. As an elderly couple, we're unable to get out so much, so to be able to have such superior quality meat delivered to our door is a Godsend. I would definitely, highly, recommend. I've given all a 5* rating, rather than rate each item individually.”
