“Turkey was delicious and delivery was on time and the turkey was chilled properly. However when I order a turkey that should weigh between 5 and 6 kilos I do not expect it to weigh 4.91kg. I know it is only a small difference but when you pay a premium price for the turkey I did expect it to weigh 5kgs at the very least.”

“The turkey was delicious - but the delivery was disappointing. One of the reasons for buying from you was that you were local, but the turkey went down to Hinckley before coming back to Yorkshire, and it was delivered on 21st (at around 6.30pm) rather than the expected 20th (I’ve got screenshots). Presumably it spent over 24 hours in transit. I have an order due to be delivered on 31st and can only hope that it’s delivered on that date.”

“Overall it’s a very good service and online butchers. I’d say they are behind the curve in not phasing out Prague Powder/ sodium Nitrites. And if thy did I think they’d find the market other product expanded. Until they do the processed meat we will only use for very rare occasions given its widely known health issues.”

“Chicken livers tasted very weird, in fact they didn't really taste of anything. Very disappointed, think I'm going to have to throw them away. Otherwise, all other items are fabulous.”

“Great website with recipes and ordering meat was easy. Good communication about parcel delivery. However, the delivery driver did not knock our door, and left the parcel on the pavement outside our house. Luckily I was in the front room to see this, so was able to pick this up. Previously, we have experienced items left in this way have been stolen.”

“Very fresh game, great packaging and delivery. Some feathers may remain, and sometimes a little blood remains outside of the vacuum packaging. But other than those minor things, would recommend for the great meat quality.”

“Our order arrived promptly, very well packaged and beautfully chilled. The faggots were delicious and we are looking forward to enjoying all the other delights we received. One item missing from the delivery but a rapid refund was made, so we'll be back for more before too long.”

“My delivery was a day late but I think this was down to DPD. They said they couldn't deliver to my area on the promised date and delivered it the next day. Although the ice containers were defrosted the meat all seems to be OK. Have yet to cook any of the meat so can'r comment on that.”

“In short, the best meat I've ever bought from a butchers bar none. The only thing letting Swaledale down for me is that it was the worse delivery experience I've ever had, with the driver not showing up, leaving me wondering if I was actually going to get my order, especially when it was a delivery day I had specifically picked, which was a massive let down. In short, if Swaledale either got a better delivery partner or if DPD improved, ordering from Swaledale would be a 5 star experience. Absolitely fantastic. It's just a shame that as an experience, I have to include my experience with the delivery of what I ordered and for me that's worth dropping a star over and it was so bad I'd considered dropping two. However, that didn't seem fair. If you're willing to put up with DPD, then definitely order from Swaledale, they're incredible and as an example, I placed my second order with them recently, which goes to show that despite sub par delivery, I can deal with it so I can get incredible products.”

“I expected my meat delivery to be early in the morning delivery or one of the first to be delivered. Unfortunately I was the last delivery at gone 6.30pm in the evening and my order was defrosted and a very wet soggy box was dumped hard against my door making a loud noise that disturbed me and my family as we thought someone had broken into the house...It was a very messy order we received that had to be carefully unpacked and refrozen...As the delivery company was situated in my village, I don't know why I had to wait from 10am before it had set off making deliveries to gone 6.30pm to have my meat delivered??!...i have yet to taste my order and hope it hasn't spoiled in anyway!!..i would have given 5 stars but your delivery company has spoiled my first order from Swaledale Butchers!😞”

One detail that is pertinent is that the contents of your order had not defrosted, we ship everything fresh - as such you can freeze any items as you wish with no concerns. “Only 4 stars as we have only used one pack of beef mince but this was very very nice. I would like to say that using DPD couriers is a negative with us. Whatever delivery the couriers NEVER knock on the door ( and we are usually in) but leave it in the safe place. I was very annoyed that they did this with the meat delivery as we were in all day and didn’t discover it until I looked at my phone 30 minutes after it was delivered. Perhaps you can feed this back. Thank you”
