“Really quick and excellent service. Easy to deal with I bought a shoulder of mutton. It was completely delicious. Cooked it low and slow for about 7 hours. Its probably not an everyday cut of meat but I'd recommend it for a special occasion. Thank you The only downside was delivery. Even though I was at home, the delivery was left in its packaging outside in the rain. I tried to complain to the delivery company but they were not interested and made it impossible”

“Always been a fan of the Courtyard Dairy and discovered Swaledale butchers through them. Had first box of mutton delivered - already eaten the chops!!! Delicious… Fully support… Looking forward to purchasing my second box.”

“While I am new to ordering from Swaledale Butchers and so far have only consumed a couple of the products ordered, I can say that i'm hugely impressed with the service provided. The ordering process could not have been easier, while the delivery with DPD was efficient and trustworthy, I use DPD all the time, and the clever packaging and protection provided with their ice packs was excellent, all were still mostly frozen on arrival inspiring confidence in the condition of the products. In a time when we can no longer trust labelling of products that are supposed to be British, or local, due to the ease with which these schemes can be scammed, it's very reassuring to have found a source of quality British reared meat and at the same time a fabulous range of sausages that I can't wait to try. I came to Swaledale by way of Courtyard Dairies and their marvellous cheeses, and I now feel that I have two reliable food sources that will make life bearable in these uncertain times.”

“I have had my first delivery from Swaledale and am extremely impressed. I always shop at high end supermarkets and local butchers. Before Swaledale the meat I had bought from the supermarket were really poor quality that look good on the outside but filled with fat or grizzly meat that should be slow cooked rather than sold as roasting meat. The reasons I chose Swaledale butchers are as follows. Firstly the animals are grass fed. Next they sell every bit of the animal which is important and nothing is classed as waste. Their selection of offal is complete. The meat is hung and butchered well. I and my family have reduced the amount of meat we eat and so it is important the food we eat is good quality. The meat is well packed and insulated and it is next day delivery. Today we have had some melt in the mouth beef liver and it was exceptionally good. I cannot recommend Swaledale butchers high enough and looking forward to my next delivery”

“Good stuff every time. Did Osso Buco for family visitors last weekend. Did them long and slow in toms,onions and lashings of red wine and beef stock. The meat fell off the bone and was a major culinary hit. Served with creamy mash and tendershoot broccolli, sugar snap peas and a lovely dark red from Italy.”

“I have been buying my meat from Swaledale for some time now. Some members of my family are vegetarian so we have a very mixed diet, but when we buy meat we buy the best, and the best for taste, tenderness, and prompt delivery is Swaledale. Our Christmas Rolled rib was superb. It arrived when promised and was the star of the Christmas meal- juicy, tender, pink and delicious. We have recently been experimenting with Swaledale's wide range of sausages. Last week we cooked the wild garlic sausages. We cooked them in the own and then chopped them up and served them with pasta. They were delicious and the children loved them. I would recommend Swaledale to anyone who enjoys fabulous meat.”

“Every product I have ordered has been so well packed. Pleased with the taste of the smoked dry cured bacon which produces no white when cooked, smoked to perfection. Lamb & beef were also full of flavour.”

“Exceptional meat - we purchased a variety of different meats and cuts and all are prime examples of well-reared British meat. Their sausages are also incredible, jam-packed with meat and flavour, and of the highest quality. Always great communication regarding delivery and the packaging is sturdy and the meat arrives in perfect condition. A faultless supplier.”
