“Products were excellent but I had to buy the water butts and stands thro' B & Q and Screwfix who were pretty useless! The manufacturer Harcostar are pretty useless too as Screwfix said most of their grey coloured water butts are not available??? Will buy direct from Water Butts Direct next time!”

“Very good purchase. Delivery as expected. Quality of products good, however the instructions suggest that a washer should be placed both inside and outside the container when fitting the tap and filler in a hole that one drills themselves. Unfortunately the kit provided did not include 2 washers per item, therefore I had to improvise rather than spend 2 hours and 10 miles getting 2 washers. I suggest that future kits include 2 washers.”

“I have been sent a water butt with instructions and fittings that just don't work - when you speak to customer services they are no help. They have the product made by a third party and just shipped to you so they are not even familiar with the products they are selling. Suggest you avoid.”

“I purchased the 500L Burgundy water butt and associated 3P diverter. I cannot fault the service, communications and prompt delivery. The items themselves are good quality and they work! The fitting instructions are OK. I received some very good and honest advice from the company over the telephone prior to purchase. However, just one thing irritated me - the two lower bungs at the bottom of the butt were both pre-fitted and both leaked! Its a small thing but when you are paying £400+ for a product you should not expect it to leak. All it would have taken was a bit of PTFE tape! Just meant extra time and extra hassle for me. Maybe I'm nit-picking so overall I would give the company 5 stars.”

“This is the second butt that i have bought to match the origional,side by side on the back of my garage.The butts are good but the service is very poor!As i did not purchase a second diverter kit they did not supply the very nessary parts to allow you to fill the but, and blank caps for the other outlets to give a pleasing finish. I am sure the person dealing with complaints has never fitted a water and does not know what i am writing about.”

“Recently I purchased my second water butt from your company. I wanted to order a butt and stand without a diverter but with a connecting kit instead. For some unaccountable reason you insisted on sending the diverter as well as the connection kit. I now have an unwanted diverter which is obviously a more expensive item than the connector so a small discount on the total cost should have been made, but no, I had to pay £10 for the connector and now have a diverter that Is surplus to my requirements. The product is good, the service from your company is not.”

“Nice water but, the planter section is a good idea and the shape is nice. However there were problems with delivery, arrived late and damaged. The packaging was not sufficient and it went backwards and forwards with Parcel Force, so on and off then van a few times. It got quite badly scratched.”

“No email confirming order or order number. Delivery was slow (10 days) from 30 miles away Water butt requires me to cut/drill holes in it to to use a diverter Requested support through the website but no one replied. Called the help desk. Left on hold and then call rejected. Called again. Support guy was unfriendly and unhelpful. Wouldn't even give me his name so I could mark the email for his attention to him a photo of the problem, even though I'd introduced myself at the start of the conversation.”

“I've been waiting more than 4 weeks for my water butt and still no sign of it. It appears the issue is primarily with the courier, but the company has been attempting to resolve the situation for over a week and still nothing. I am currently awaiting an update - but after 4 weeks it's getting a bit silly and I will be requesting a refund. I offer a 2* because communication has been quick and friendly - something which many companies lack. My advice... pick a better courier.”
