“The last time I bought wood was good as it came in a lorry that could be driven down my cul de sac but the time before was an arcticulated lorry to big for my road and he had to offload it halfway down my road making it hard to get on my drive”

“The service from the company was very good but once again there were problems with the delivery firm. Despite it being a requirement that the courier should telephone to arrange delivery, they did not. I found when the logs were out for delivery on the tracking information. Actual delivery was chaotic. The trolley used to unload the logs was totally inadequate and fact was not safe to use. It was barely able to lift the pallet up from the floor. I had to get on the lorry and push while the driver pulled. When we got to the tailboard, the whole lot could not be controlled and it fell off, with the trolley stuck in the broken pallet. Fortunately, our local farmer saw the chaos and came to the rescue with his tractor and was able to lift the pallet upright to enable the trolley to be removed. I do not criticise the driver, she was most helpful and did her utmost to assist, including helping to move some of the logs. However, I have serious concerns about Richard Read, the courier. This is the second time they have made a delivery yo me and on both occasions the equipment to remove the pallet from the lorry was inadequate. They do not seem to have any regard for the health and safety of their employees nor their customers. Our local farmer has offered that in future, deliveries of this nature v=can be made to the farm where he will unload the pallets using appropriate equipment and bring them to me. However, that should not be necessary. Other companies I have bought from use couriers who have the correct equipment to deliver heavy loads such as pallets of logs.”

“Received a crate of ash and a crate of oak within 3 days. Quality generally good as usual.The crates were packed well ,far better than loose packed wood from other suppliers. The logs are all within the dryness stated ie less than 20%.Logs need some water content to burn efficiently.Logs being very dry will burn up much too quickly. L/W logs are ideal. The logs are about 10 long, just right for our stove. Oak logs tend to burn hotter. The carrier used go out of their way to put the wood where it's required.”

“I would give 5 stars but for a breakdown in the communication link, which has happened 3 times now. As I live on a road that narrows to a tight width, a smaller truck is always needed. I make this point when ordering. But for whatever reason, it generally goes wrong. On the latest order, the delivery company telephone me to say that they would be delivering that day. I said, "It is coming in a small truck?" "Ho" came the reply. It was scheduled to come in a big truck. This delayed my delivery by a week. So pointless having a space for delivery instructions if they are not going to be followed. Apart from that the service and product are great,”
