“Staff were very polite albeit perhaps a little too chatty, however my partner recently had an eyesight test and purchased two pairs of glasses from Specsavers (the same service as I received at Scrivens) but I ended up paying nearly double what he'd paid despite the offers that I took advantage of. When my prescription glasses were ready for collection I was sent a note rather than receive a phone call or an email even though I had said I was happy to be contacted by email.”

“I had a sight test recently. Although I said the reason I asked for a test was that I needed the prisms changed as I’d started to see double the optometrist gave me the same prisms again. When I received my glasses I saw double. I have had to have another test and my glasses have been sent off to have new lenses. This is not the service I have had previously. Very disappointing.”

“My last visit to Scrivens in St James Street, Walthamstow, was carried out efficiently and I found both the optician and the staff helping me chose my new frames etc. very helpful.”

“I went in to the Beeston High Road branch to get an eye test. The staff were very approachable and professional. The service and advice I'd received after my eye test was top notch. I would highly recommend this branch.”

“Very poor service from the Ashby De La Zouch branch. Was told the optician was running 5-10 minutes late - after over 20 minutes the optician emerged with the current customer, didn't have the courtesy to acknowledge myself, and went downstairs with this customer. I then approached to ask how long the appointment would take as due to their delay my car park was expiring in under 25 minutes; there was no apology whatsoever, so cancelled the appointment after a wasted morning. Have decided to return to Boots going forward. Not recommended.”

“I was seen promptly, everything went well with my eye test. The staff were very helpful and patient with me. I feel comfortable with my new spectacles. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scrivens to anyone.”

“I had not visited Scrivens for some time, due to various on going eye issues. when I did return last month, I was given the best attention and also some time was spent choosing frames. I now have a new pair of spectacles which arrived within a week of ordering them and I was phoned on the day they arrived. Excellent service.”
