“On my first eye test with Scriven's they picked up on an issue that my previous opticians never spotted in 15 years. They then referred me to hospital for treatment which was successful so obviously I am a happy customer. Should of gone to Scriven's in the first place”

“Always feel I have had the best care and advice from Scrivens, Stamford. Referred recently for cataract surgery, which has been carried out quickly and improved my eyesight beyond measure. Recommend 100%.”

“Very professional, helpful and friendly staff all round. It was my first visit and am disabled so was apprehensive about my visit but they were all very kind. It was much appreciated. Would certainly recommend. Stamford, Lincs branch.”

“Eyes originally tested on 24 February and it is now 6 April and I am still waiting for my sunglasses (order comprised one pair of glasses and one pair of sunglasses). The optician made an error with my original eye check and after waiting 3 weeks for my glasses (told it would be 2) I had to have my eyes retested and the glasses were returned to the manufacturer for correction. After a further 2 weeks I was told my glasses were ready but on arrival at the store (Hamstead village) I discovered that my sunglasses were not ready and nobody could tell me when they would be. I appreciate mistakes are made but I would expect an effort to be made to correct the mistake but at no time have I felt any sense of urgency from the store in putting right Scrivens error. When I complained at the poor service the manageress did apologise but seemed irritated with me (having spent over £600 with Scrivens!). Very poor service and no real effort made to put right Scrivens error quickly.”

“Just had 6 monthly lens check at Cotteridge Branch. Always good service and first class helpful - special thanks to Marie as always. BUT Scrivens what have you done to the branches following your refurbishments….. not good, why have you inserted a podium it’s looks like a political speech is about to start. In my opinion this layout is not customer friendly, in fact it’s very cynical and clinical. Re think again and please change back - not a good look to customers entering the shop”

“All I would say some of your staff need better training. Even though I had an appointment I was treated like someone who had just walked in off the street and the receptionist decided she was going to tell me what was wrong with my hearing aids, even taking them apart in front of every one in reception and getting me to put them in. I had told why I was there, it was almost like she knew better then the trained expert that I had my appointment with. It was demeaning and embarrassing”

“Very pleased with last hearing test you did. Finding it generally a much longer wait to receive tubes and batteries than my previous years with hearing care from the NHS. Only once did these arrive as quickly.”
