“I attended for both eye test and check of hearing aids. I have now purchased spectacldes. All staff were extremely polite, cheerful, helpful and friendly. One needs to be an expert in the field to pass judgement on the end products but thus far I am satisfied.”

“I have been using Scrivens for specs since almagamating with Melson Wingate (who I used until that time) and always have good and personal service. Sadly, a year ago I had new lenses fitted to a favourite pair of frames from 5 years ago and this year they broke and being old are obsolete cannot be repaired. My only reason for giving four stars and not five is I don’t recal a warning as I ordered the new lenses that being old frames this could happen and the cost was high to abandon these specs. So a do it yourself Repair will be necessary to get full use of them. The specs I have just had delivered were supplied earlier than expected and I’m very pleased with them and the service in ordering.”

“Good blend of relaxed approach and detailed professionalism - commitment to proper fit in particular. I was buying a second pair of bifocals - tinted this time - and was again impressed with the reception, the service, the ability to explain technicalities, the sense of humour and the wish to help me get good value for money. There was also a marked desire to train a more junior member of staff effectively and a marked wish to learn on her part. And I’m delighted with the glasses!”

“Optician was thorough. Reception maybe could be more .....polite? As in don't treat the customers as if they are mud on their shoe!”

“I PURCHASED SOME GLASSES OFF YOUR COMPANY LAST YEAR.AFTER MANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM,IDECIDED ENOUGHT WAS ENOUGHT,AND TODAY I WENT TO VISION EXPRESS,WHERE I HAD A EYE TEST,AND NEW GLASSES ..COSTING £305.AS I HAD POOR QUALITY OF SERVICE FROM YOU .I WOULD EXPECT A FULL RE FUND OF£340.20P.MANY THANKS PW JACKSON 1 HOLLINS LANE MARTLEY WORCESTER WR66PF.TELEPHONE 01886888654 EMAIL PETER.JACKSON@MARTLEY.ORG PS I WILL BE FORWARDING EVIDENCE OF PURCHASE PW JACKSON.”

“Original lenses had to be replaced and a second eye test arranged which resulted in a different prescription. Not a recommended service for a£450 pair of spectacles!”

“While visiting the Southgate branch, not only was I not satisfied with the service I received and customer service refused to refund any of my money, I witnessed an elderly gentlemen being taken advantaged of. I wanted to intervene as I would not be happy if my father was being taken for more money than he needed to pay. I realised all they want to take your money and make out you need something, a change that you don't. I have gone back to using my original glasses and lenses as they are better suited then the ones they offered.”

“I visited Scrivens in Southgate for an eye and contact lens test. I was told my prescription had changed and that I could have a free trial of what I needed. They had to order lenses as was not in stock but was able to give me something close I could trial in the meantime. They lenses were useless so I reverted back to my original ones. I called them as I had not heard for 3 weeks and they told me they forgot to order my trial lenses. I picked these up 2 weeks later and they were the same as the previous ones they gave me. I was told this was my new prescription!.. Really, what they had in stock!! I asked for a full refund so I can go elsewhere but they have refused to provide as 'it's not their policy' Keep away if you want a professional service by a qualified optician”

“Service at the new Peterborough branch was far from satisfactory, in fact no one smiled or seemed interested in the correct fitting of my new spectacles, I was given a reading card and asked if I could read it, when I went to reply the assistant was talking to other staff members, it was myself who had to ask if my Spectacles sat right on my face at no time did the assistant sit down with me and give me her undivided attention, the whole experience was nothing like you would expect from professional people I spent almost £600 and my wife and I will not be returning”
