“Optician excellent, front of house very helpful, new glasses brilliant but it is with regret despite this and working locally that I wont use you again as Scarborough council think it is acceptable to fine me £50 for pulling up outside for less than one minute to collect my glasses. I think you as a company need to make the council aware that they are losing you business by parking attendants hiding behind vans and in alleyways to give tickets for people supporting local businesses.”

“I recently went for an eye test at Scrivens and was very pleased at the level of service and care I received. I cannot speak highly enough about the people who work here. Everyone was so kind and even though I needed glasses I really enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you!”

“I'm a longstanding customer at what was once Melson Wingate, and now Scrivems, They have always provide a friendly professional service. Good choice of frames. They have also been helpfully in the past when I wore contact lenses.Veroniv”

“Not at all impressed. I experienced difficulties with the original glasses you supplied and it took 4 visits, several phone calls and emails to get the problem sorted. Eventually the glasses were replaced and although I was upgraded (without charge) to more expensive frames and lenses I am not at all happy with the service I have received.”

“I have been a customer of Scrivens (Leesons) for a number of years. It is the first time I have not been completely satisfied with my glasses. I had an eye test in August 2017 and new frames and lens but I found a problem with the varifocal I considered them not to be in the correct position having to keep lifting my head up and down to be able to see correctly. I did go back to Leesons and told them about it, they tried to adjust them but they did not improve. I decided to purchase another pair of frames with just the bottom half magnified particularly for computer use. Again these were not satisfactory. I had a second eye test in May this year again buying new frames and changed lens but I am struggling again with the range of the varifocal and still consider them to be wrongly placed, having to move my head about to be able to focus on a subject. Unfortunately I am considering changing my optician. Can I say I also had my hearing tested there and was advised on hearing aids. Can I say the service was impeccable and Simon could not do enough to make sure my aids were correct and suited my purpose.”

“The customer service I received during my eye test was outstanding. The experience of getting glasses was very smooth and easy. My interactions with all of the staff were positive and they were all very friendly. Whilst choosing my glasses the sales assistant was very friendly and helped by handing me similar styles to the type of glasses I wanted. If Scrivens stores have an award for customer service then this store should win it!”
