“Having used the on line booking services, when I arrived they knew who I was, they were very helpful, the service I got was second to none, the optometrist was very professional, a good understanding. The sales person very helpful, and when I collected my reading glasses they are perfect”

“The care taken during the exam was very good. The glasses took 10 days to arrive. Having previously worn varifocals I realised that the 'reading part' was no longer viable, so decided to have single vision lenses. However, I didn't realise that this type of lens would only give me distance vision, which was perfectly ok with my previous varifocal glasses, it was only the 'near' vision which was the problem. I can't wear my new glasses as I can't see anything clearly within about 5-6feet. This is no good to me as I am the Regional Co-ordinator for the charity Look Good Feel Better, helping ladies, teenagers and men deal with the visible side effects of cancer treatment. The new glasses do not provide clear sight within 5-6 feet so I cannot apply makeup to the ladies at the workshop; I can't see signs and prices when shopping or even doing my gardening and the communal garden. I guess I should have asked more questions when the Optician said distance lenses, but I thought it would be ok. Looks like I will need to go back to varifocals if this is the only way I can see properly. I am wearing my previous pair of glasses with the varifocals and not the new ones.”

“Having recently visited Scrivens E4 branch for an eye test and to purchase new glasses, I can only say that the service and care I received was excellent, with personal service from the branch team that exceeded other high street opticians. After a thorough eye examination and sight test I chose new lenses and frames which were prepared and available for collection within 10 days. The fit was perfect. Thank you team for your excellent service.”

“Everyone at Scrivens, Walthamstow has a very pleasant and helpful attitude, the eye examination was thorough and the optician ensured I understood what was being done and why. I felt comfortable and at ease with her. The young ladies who measured me for my glasses were really helpful when I was making my choice, so that I was happy with my final decision. I have recommended them to friends.”

“It was at the Dovercourt branch of Scrivens a year ago that it was discovered I had ocular melonoma, within an hour I was being seen by a specialist at Colchester Essex County hospital.By the opticians quick actions he has probably extended my life. I am grateful for his concern before and after my enoculation with phone calls and follow up appointments.”

“Optician excellent, front of house very helpful, new glasses brilliant but it is with regret despite this and working locally that I wont use you again as Scarborough council think it is acceptable to fine me £50 for pulling up outside for less than one minute to collect my glasses. I think you as a company need to make the council aware that they are losing you business by parking attendants hiding behind vans and in alleyways to give tickets for people supporting local businesses.”
