“Its a shame that the nhs have to rely on such a company I’ve had a terrible experience only interested in giving out hearing aids one I got are worse than what I had”

“I came for an eye test after bringing my daughter and being so pleased with how attentive and thorough the staff were. I have tried all the other other opticians but found that Scrivens stood out from the rest. Unfortunately, as soon as I sat in the chair, I was told that if my eyes have not deteriorated or if my lens prescription remains the same, then I would be charged a fee of £30! I felt incredibly uncomfortable and cheated. If I would have known this prior to my appointment, then I would never have booked in the first place. I left the examination room immediately! I feel embarrassed and disappointed with my experience. Bad communication”

“Better late than never, it was just after the first lockdown that I attended my branch in Chesterfield for new glasses.It was during this process that I found a small cyst on my eyelid which caused concern has I’d previously had one that had been an aggressive cancer and because of COVID was worried about having access quickly to see a consultant at the hospital. This is when the staff of scrivens went into overdrive. Amreen the ophthalmologist rang the hospital and arranged for an appointment the following afternoon also Diane and Tracy were excellent and very kind and professional in trying to allay my fears. I can’t thank them enough for what they did. Thankfully after treatment I got the news that this was not cancer again. If gold medals were awarded for excellent service then the Chesterfield branch should be awarded them tenfold. Hope this gets seen by head office as this team should recognised for their work. Thanks very much once again. I certainly recommend anyone to come to you.”

“Had a yearly diabetes screening organised by Kelly at Bilston. Had a thorough examination and discussion with the optician. They both recommended cataract surgery and contacted the NHS on my behalf. It was quickly organised and within a few weeks I felt like a new man with much improved vision. I cannot praise the team at this store highly enough and thank them from the bottom of my heart.”

“if i could give no stars i would, this company only wants your money, i had an eyesight test and was provided with glasses two weeks later i had to return ( the glasses seemed blurred) after another eyesight test a new prescription was issued which cost even more money, again after a week these seemed blurred as well. could not be bothered to return but went to the eye hospital instead and was informed that i needed cataract operations and was told that my optician would have clearly seen this, but instead went for the money option (not cheap).”

“I can't recommend the store I went to in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. I have limited mobility and suffer with anxiety going to new places but the welcome was warm and the staff were incredibly professional with a friendly manner which put me at my ease. I will definitely be going back for all my vision and hearing needs.”
