“I have macular degeneration, and I am now at the stage where, with glasses, I can only read print larger than the size of a medium newspaper headline. Thanks to Scrivens – to its its Clifton, Bristol branch – there has been a transformative change. I now have a new prescription with yellow lenses, and I can read some type as small as 14-point. Apparently, what I have are colorimetry lenses (there are more than 100 different tints), which can help with a number of reading and ‘visual stress’ problems.”

“I went to Scrivens in Mildenhall recently and received first class service! The team of ladies there were all friendly, helpful, efficient and provided an excellent service. I would thoroughly recommend them. I had never used Scrivens before, but I went there after a different opticians in the town were extremely unhelpful! I will only use Scrivens in the future! Thank you ladies for your all your help and for providing the best service. See you again in 12 months! Tina”

“I have had NHS hearing aids since 2016. I have been pleased with the service I received from Scrivens but my estimation has increased greatly following the loss of one hearing aid. I phoned my branch Hedge End] ; they were very understanding and told me that it might take up to two weeks to receive a replacement programmed hearing aid. I received it today on Saturday of the same week. Very impressive customer service, thank you very much.”

“Poor service in terms of left feeling major concern with eye. Having had time digest information given at check, and a night of no sleep, I made urgent telephone call to the branch the next day and was advised optician was busy and no slots all day wouldn’t be able to call. Receptionist advised she would find information for me and call back next day. This did not happen in spite of knowing how concerned I was. Appalling customer service. Decided to go for second opinion at Vision Express and had amazing service and professionalism.”

“The service I received was very good. Friendly and efficient. They made sure that the prescription was correct and made sure that the glasses fitted correctly. This was at the Rhyl store.”

“My hearing test at Diss with Trevor and Franchesqua ( 21st Aug 2023 )was amazingly thorough. Both very professional, friendly and understanding my issue. After over an hour of tests etc. I left with a pair of NHS issue hearing aids which I am still getting used to”

“Outstanding work by the Havant branch. My 5 year old child is often in there due to breaking her glasses and all of the staff are incredible towards her, so much care is given and I couldn't recommend a better opticians. Thankyou so much Havant branch.”

“I went to Scrivens in Widnes for the first time last week for an eye test I was very impressed with the service. The Optometrist was very through and explained every test. I didn't need any new glasses but I ordered a pair of subscription sunglasses. I would highly recommend the service and the staff were very friendly and helpful.”

“Went to local Scrivens for NHS hearing test and was blown away by how amazing the service was. The audiologist for very personable and thorough. Carrying out a range of tests explaining and reassuring as he went through them and at the end left with new hearing aids. Would recommend the branch in Market Deeping first class”
