“Very disappointing service after using this branch for many years. The sight test was done in about five minutes and did not cover anywhere near the amount it used to. I chose my frames and was told about a week to ten days. Called in on day 10 to be told about another 10 days. Said that was unacceptable so they rang up and said it would be the next day! I waited 48 hours and rang and was told they had been in the store 24 hours but they were too busy to ring. Collected them and was just handed them after they had cleaned the lens. No fitting and no lining up with the spots as used to be done. Luckily there are many other opticians locally so I will be going there is future.”

“I have been using the practice for years and years. I always find the premises very comfortable and the staff very welcoming. I believe the choice of frames to be as wide as any in the sector and prices very competitive. At the present time I have no desire to go anywhere else for my eye care. I can recommend Scrivens without reservation”

“I rang Mexborough branch to ask how much it was to change the lenses in my glasses to the new prescription, and was told £30. On attending the branch I was told that they charged £69 plus£30 for putting the lenses in the glasses. I queried this because across the precinct at another opticians the total charge was £39 including fitting. A very big difference for the same service. I find this extremely off-putting. As a disabled pensioner, who receives no help towards the cost of the glasses, I will be very reluctant to buy glasses from any of your stores again, particularly as I was given incorrect information in the first place.”

“I have always found Scrivens to be very professional friendly and welcoming with excellent service, eye tests and after care. Such as when I returned my glasses to them to tighten up screws. They are always happy to help.”

“Very pleasant and helpful with the Optical side. Haven't had a hearing test for about 3 years which wasn't so helpful as I have tinnitus and was unable the get useful advice from the Audiologist at that time. No complaints atall with the Opticians though.”

“Asked for advice following problem with eyes and was reassured after professional examination and advice. Followed recommendation to get distance glasses and was able to buy half price frames. When collected glasses was impressed by pleasant and thorough "handing over" process.”
