I recently moved to vary focal glasses which I purchased from Bury St Edmunds branch. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Living 40 miles away Jan the branch manger very kindly delivered the glasses to my home as we live in the same village.

Chapel en le Frith: . I recently had a problem with my spectacles and the staff were extremely helpful and professional in rectifying the problem which after some time resulted in replacing the spectacles. I feel reassured that there is a local opticians who always treat the customer with professionalism and respect. Well done to staff at this branch and keep up the good work.

Following an appointment with an Consultant Eye Surgeon, I bought a heat pad for my eyes. It wasn't the one I was told to buy but I needed one urgently and went ahead with purchase. There was subsequently an issue which was fully resolved in days by the Manager who had made the sale. Thank you for your efforts on my behalf; Wem should be grateful to have Scrivens on the High Street.

Eye test week before Christmas which was professional conducted by both optician and support staff. No complaints here other than the high cost of the spectacles, (more expensive than Boots or Specsavers). However, when my spectacles were ready for collection I received a txt and contacted the local branch number (Bourne End , Bucks) which must have been busy as I later got transferred to a centralised number (as I was advised later by your staff) and told to turn up anytime to collect spectacles. When I followed up on 22nd December I was berated for not having booked an appointment by an officious assistant. Having contacted your organisation, prior to visiting the branch, I took offence at this, whereupon attitude changed to I was busy, phoned engaged and so transferred to Head Office who do not know what they are doing! She did, however, deign to give me my spectacles. Having spent over £700 on spectacles (almost twice Specsavers) I do not appreciate this treatment and will not be using your company again. Talking the talk about family business and service is one thing, unfortunately experiencing the reality is another.

First visit to Wem shop. Efficient enough and pleasant staff. However, I was a little put off by the assistant polishing some glasses on her clothing before handing to me to try, and also not appearing to wipe down the chin/ forehead rest on testing equipment before I used it. I was too embarrassed to mention it at the time. Am awaiting my glasses so can't comment on them. Otherwise, not a bad experience and very convenient.

I HAVE HAD MY HEARING AIDS FOR ABOUT 12 MONTHS AND I HAVE JUST FILLED IN MY QUESTIONNAIRE, BUT THERE WAS NOWHERE FOR COMMENTS. PERHAPS I CAN USE THIS REVIEW FOR A COMMENT. THE THING IS THEY ARE VERY GOOD APART FROM ONE THING, THE TUBE THAT GO FROM THE EAR PIECE TO THE MAIN PART BEHIND THE EAR GOES FLAT AND THIS IMPAIRS THE VOLUME SO I HAVE TO KEEP ADJUSTING THE VOLUME THEN I GET HIGH PITCH WHISTLES , WHEN I AM IN COMPANY IT IS VERY EMBARRASSING. APART FROM THAT THEY ARE VERY GOOD.

The gentleman who conducted my eye test was a true professional and was prepared to answer questions in full. I was also made to feel comfortable and he was kind enough to interact with my grandson aged 7. I will return to this branch in the future

Reasonably satisfied overall with service and hearing aids. However the tube entering the ear canal is quite rigid and I find myself continuously pushing it in to my ear as it feels as if its coming out. My main gripe is that the batteries only last 9/10 days so I must always make sure to carry spare. Previous aids, using same type of battery would last up to 16 days.

Having been in front line food retail for over 30 years with Sainsbury's, Waitrose and M&S, I think I have the qualifications to say what an excellent customer focused team you have at your branch in Bitterne precinct, Southampton. I would like to mention Optometrist Jason Date-Chong who suggested going back to wearing vary focal's which I always wore in retail and has worked very well. Finally at my age, and also being in the care Southampton Eye Hospital, I get vey nervous about the condition of my eyes and Jason had an excellent 'Bedside manner'!!

Hi I had an eye test which i needed a new pair of glasses.The staff were very friendly and new their job.The reason i gave 4 stars was the waiting time and the time the test took was 1 and a half hours.

Booked it for an eye test at the Fordhouses/Oxley branch after it was recommended by a friend. Had a wonderfully thorough eye examination with the lady optician and was seen by a young asian/indian man about glasses options. They were very knowledgeable and professional however I didnt purchase any glasses. Even though the service i received was exceptional, i was put off as I could hear the manager discussing the numbers of sales they’d done and comparing it to neighbouring stores. This was off putting as I felt like they just wanted my money to reach whatever goal they were set. I understand businesses must make money to stay afloat but i have never heard any other business discuss it so openly. I imagine some commission for the managers is involved. Hmmmm

Staff always friendly and helpful. Have had regular eye tests at local branch for nearly 20 years. Glaucoma first diagnosed at Scrivens also cataracts. Had cataract surgery but many problems. Awaiting a lens replacement from hospital. I will then go back to Scrivens for advice and another contact lens.
