“My glasses frame (less than 8 months old) came apart while I was wearing them today, the staff in Scrivens Opticians, Hallgate, Cottingham, said they were unable to repair them - my only option (other than repairing with superglue or Sellotape) was to order a new frame, presumably the same as the one which has just collapsed, for £139, and they would transfer the lenses across. What is the point in having a pair of glasses that last less than 8 months? Doubtful if I will visit Scrivens again, for eye tests or glasses.”

“I recently attended the Bearwood branch for sight tests for myself and daughter. The staff were absolutely amazing! They were super helpful throughout the entire appointment and when our glasses were ready for collection they contacted me and advised when we could attend due to my daughter needing the optometrist to be on site to check her glasses were correct. Having had my first pair of varifocal glasses the staff were incredibly helpful and reassuring and let me know that I can get in touch if I have any problems getting used to them. I would 100% recommend this branch to everyone! Please pass on my thanks and appreciation to the Bearwood staff!”

“Used the Burslem, Stoke on Trent store in February 2023. The examination was very professional and thorough and the optician took the time to explain to me that my prescription had changed and what I could expect from new spectacles. All staff were very knowledgeable and gave their time willingly when I chose new frames.”

“I have been a customer of Scrivens for quite a while, mostly for glasses but more recently, hearing aids. Not only am I delighted with their products, but with the way I am greeted and the way their staff go the extra mile to ensure my safety, waiting time and needs are given top priority. “Excellent hearing aid service from Sophie today. Not only did she make my hearing aids better but she also set me up with BeMore which through bluetooth makes my hearing aids easy to control. Many Thanks Sophie”

“I took my Elderly Mum to Mildenhall Branch for a check up and 2pairs of new glasses The staff at this Branch Eleanor Michelle Cat and Kaye,Were very professional kind and understanding towards her .”

“After spending £350 on new glasses after only wearing them for a month the lens fell out I wasn't happy to have a replacement of same glasses so I was told I could choose a different pair which I did which was £100 cheaper and I was told I couldn't have a refund so I complained to customer services i still was refused a refund then I was told because I complained i couldn't have the new style of glasses i had chosen i had to have THE other glasses I chose in the first place with new lens in them what a shambles. I've got no confidence in the glasses the lens just fell out while I was out walking. I will not be going back to scrivens”

“My husband and I visited the Stone Branch yesterday as my husband was having trouble with his hearing aids. The staff were patient and understanding with him, particularly when he returned a few hours later with a similar problem. Thank you. It is lovely to be treated with some respect, especially when getting older.”

“Scrivens West Street Havant the best team I have come across in the UK,& the first where I have not requested a refund. Fast,friendly,informative service,excellent optometrist which produced the best glasses I have had over the last 25 years,Pity they haven't got the latest facial profiling equipment they have in Japan with updated equipment this team could consistently produce outstanding results every time I hope you look after this team. “I had my eyes checked by Sanjay at Scrivens this morning after a cataract was diagnosed by the NHS. My appointment was made swiftly. Staff were really nice. Instead of selling me new specs with a new prescription Sanjay said "No. Let's wait until you have had this cataract checked and possibly removed, then we can give you a new glasses prescription." Sanjay then requested an appointment with SpaMedica - a free local ophthalmic service contracted by the overloaded NHS who can see me much sooner (possibly just 4 weeks). He then assured me that my eyesight met DVLA standards, and told me the details of the cataract procedure should it be offered. I'm 80 and I cycle alot and my eyes are watering a lot. I was offered a tear reduction product which works. I strongly recommend Scrivens' service.”

“You must have the wrong person - I haven't had an eye test - I have not got a pair of glasses on order - but I had a phone call today about a pair of frames that were ordered for me to replace some I broke - they apparently had just arrived - in fact I actually collected them last week! I was delighted that the frames came in as promised & they were fitted to the old lenses promptly - it seems that there are some gremlins in your system!”

“On Friday, 10th February, I had an eye sight consultation and a hearing consultation. These were conducted with courtesy and professionalism by both the optician and the audiologist. Other members of staff were, also pleasant and helpful. Full marks all round for exemplary customer service!”
