I was treated in a professional and friendly manner from the preliminary eye check to collecting my glasses at Wimborne and I'm very pleased with my glasses, thank you

The staff at Scrivens were amazing today! They made me feel at ease during my eye test and explained everything to me. I felt relaxed and able to ask questions. The member of staff who carried out the hearing test was so personable and easy to talk to. When choosing spectacles, he talked me through a wide range of options and was not at all pushy. He made me feel that he really did want to help and talked me through the price scale to enable me to find what was right for me. I would not hesitate to recommend Scrivens in Fishponds for either eye or hearing tests to anyone I know.

When my husband had his eye test in January the optician referred him to the eye hosp because he had cataracts, he has had one done and came to see him again for glasses to be told he couldn’t give him glasses until he had the other eye done that was in March.He was sent an appt for the 25th June but got a letter this week cancelling it we have now got to wait for another date . This is after 18 weeks .My husband still will be wanting glasses if he needs them after the second operation . This is the reason why he’s hasn’t been to order glasses and such a shame that he will miss out on the half price offers you have .

Worst eye test I’ve ever had. The optician was constantly surprised by my answers to his questions about the lenses he was adjusting and the end result was worse than my existing prescription. The lens-holding frames used during the test wouldn’t sit on my face properly. At the end of the exam, the optician told me I had “weird” optic nerves (but didn’t say what that meant) which required a one year recall instead of the standard two. I was so unconvinced by the exam that I went to a different optician a week later, who said they had no idea why Scrivens’ guy had said my optic nerves were weird. The wait between my main exam and supplemental tests (peripheral vision) was ridiculously long and the examination room is far too small, requiring me to shift around for the optician to be able to get to my eyes.

I always go to Scrivens because I first class service. Everyone there is very professional, courteous, friendly and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. They give you time and individual attention and do not rush you or treat you like just another customer. 10/10 Scrivens, thank you

Wonderful service and very friendly and honest staff. Have been coming to Scrivens for years and have never been pushed into buying glasses that were not needed. I would highly recommend them for the services I have used, eye testing and glasses.

I purchased 2 pairs of glasses 11 weeks ago. I was treated so nice with the manager and her staff no problems .on collecting my glasses 5 days after order I was delighted. but both pairs had a problem with the ear pieces coming off so I went back the following day. The manager fitted new ones but with the same problem. She said she would send them back to the supplier. They were returned with both lenses scratched and supper glue all over the frames to the point they had to be replaced. again they came back with transmissions lenses. Sent back again. came back with bog standard lenses not what I paid for. Sent back again but not arrived as yet.so I asked for a refund ,I was told to e mail and they will consider. After paying £800 for 2 pairs of glasses I am totaly disgusted with scrivens,I spoke to two people one was disrespectful and the other said he would e mail me but did not. You want a review imagine the reply yours mr m hayes.

My appointment was arranged at my convenience as I am disabled and can only attend for an eye test on a Saturday morning. The staff were very helpful and made sure that I had a seat with arms as I cannot walk without aid. I have being using Scrivens for many years and will continue to do so.

sir/madam, I do not seem to be able to see as well as before the new lenses. But then I do not have any say in matters. The government say I must have cheaper tablets. If I were a Doctor I would only give the best at all times. When I was at work I gave the best as did most of my colleagues. Symptomatic of todays world, No quality. And I am not a Royal Family or Politics fan. Specsavers they were a joke, Looks -'we always send customers to Dudley Rd Hospital' says the young lady there. Cold and indifferent as I had been warned many years ago, Dudley Rd. that is about three times I went there. Zeiss lenses say looks no different to ours say Looks. The price does not reflect that. And certainly photographically Zeiss is a tour de Force. Last time I went to Boots some tart said can I go before you I am at work (so conscientious?) as I say my opinion is of no consequence. Just before I went there to collect my specs. I had terrible stomach pains, possibly tablets, strangely they disappeared as I caught the bus, only to return after I got home. the Surgery Doctor made an appointment at the QE for an Endoscopy which I duly arrived there for, the small operation was performed and without any warning between the hospital and Railway Station, My Bladder and Bowls just let go quite embarrasing. the performer was either a novice or just a nasty piece of goods. I do not particularly like the surgery as the reception Staff are inferior to my way of thinking. One openly Lies to me obviously her ambition outways her intelligence. Better the devil one knows or think you know I suppose. The first optician i had in this city was Davis Keeler in the city. Then we found one nearer Walsh & Bywater indeed the same premises you operate from at cotteridge. It is hard to accept second third or fourth best when you have experienced the very best

The two ladies who supported me to choose my glasses were outstanding. Found frames easily and clearly great at their role. Sight test was disappointing. However the front of house service really made up for this
