“Had my eyes tested and the optician immediately picked up on a problem with one of my eyes in which a letter was given to my GP for referral to a Eye Hospital. Have now received that referral from my GP in which i am booking an appointment to go to the Eye Hospital. New glasses also prescribed for me which are very good, i am wearing them now - although at first had to get use to them but they working fine to my satisfaction.”

“The assistants were very professional and helpful. The optician was also very helpful and explained everything. Really there is nothing more that I can say except that everybody did their job.”

“You supplied me with some varifocal glasses last week and I am tryung to get used to them. The intial prblem was that I had to make my eyes look down further than normal to benefit from the reading sector. So, at the Ashby shop the lady adjusted the height on my nose and the formerproblem has gone away but the distance sector goes blurred looking through at normal long distance head position. I am not sure that I can get used to this. William Moore”

“I came in for an eye test. It was a pleasant experience as the staff were very friendly and efficient. My new glasses arrived very quickly and were exactly right for me.”

“Scrivens Chesterfield, been visiting for Eye Test's , Hearing Test's and new Glasses for a few years now , Always the friendly helpful chatty atmosphere, they take time to explain any technical malarkey relating to the options and products available, make a lovely mug of coffee (Off menu, of course, in the "Covid-age") I certainly recommend them highly !”

“Fuming! Didcot branch customer service is a farse. My mother went to this branch, had a good eye test but when it came to selecting new glasses the salesman was very pushy, showing her only very expensive frames when she'd informed him of her budget, when she went to collect her glasses they didn't fit them, resulting in the sliding down her nose literally every few minutes. When I saw this I insisted she return to the branch and get them fitted correctly, I also contacted the branch myself and spoke to a lady who was relatively disinterested. My mother did this but was very upset as the same sales assistant was rude to her when she explained they weren't fitted properly, his response was "well how do you know?" not only that he took the glasses from her without even looking at the fit behind her ears adjusted them and handed them back. She wears hearing aids also, and mentioned that her tubing was not long enough on one side, again he was rude, huffing and puffing no less! This is completely outrageous, in my own experience scrivens customer service is excellent at my branch, but Didcot either need retraining or sacking! Needless to say they've lost her business, she will not be returning.”
