“I decided to choose Pod point as it was recommended by VW for our new ID3. Online accounts also looked favourable. With support from the Pod Point Project Manager allocated to my purchase and installation, I opted to buy an untethered point as it provides the flexibility to then charge a Type 1 or Type 2 car (my daughter has a Type 1) with the appropriate cable. Standard/included installation would not have reached my garage (over 10m from my electric meter) so I used the Ground Works team arranged by the Pod Pont PM to go under my block driveway to the garage. This was very well executed with no signs of the work undertaken under the driveway or paths. Well worth the additional cost as it allows my car to be charged in the garage with the doors closed. The installation of the Pod point itself took place sometime later when a fitter was available. Unfortunately, it was not possible to fit the circuit breaker inside the meter cupboard so it had to be positioned externally on the adjacent wall. Having used the point for several months now we are very pleased with its operation.”
