The sandals were lovely, as expected for Gabor. However, the box had seen better days and it was clear from the labelling that they were last years stock, which had been reduced and the sandals were rather dusty, having likely been sat in a store on the shelf and remained unsold until I purchased them. On ringing Gabor they agreed to honour the sale price and gave me a refund. Overall a bit disappointed.

We do deliver free of charge and ask customers to pay the return postage costs or return to a Charles Clinkard store as stated in our returns policy and also in our terms and conditions. You can return using a second class mail service which keeps the cost down and then add tracking for aproximately 80 pence extra. You can also buy a label on our website from a link to collect Plus where for £4.49 you can buy a label that covers up to 10 kilo in once package. we are sorry to hear that you find this disappointing and hope that it will not put you off ordering in the future. Very disappointed. Trainers arrived and were not Gabor branded and too large. On their way back to you. If I purchase direct from Gabor website i expected the product to be yours.

The order took a long time to arrive and the item was marked when I opened it. The fit was very narrow. Not a standard width. I returned the item and it has cost me £9 to get the cheapest tracked service. I did not realise that returns were not free.

We are sorry that you found the shoes to be narrow, There is a link on our website where you can buy a Collect Plus tracked label for £4.49 which covers up to 10 kilo of returns. Royal Mail also second class with additional tracking usually come in at around £3.50 from customer. Our delivery is free but we do ask customers to cover the cost of the return, we are sorry to hear you were charged so much. If a faulty item was received, you can contact customer services where we can help with postage, we hope that this will help for future reference. Your shoes are being made in a different factory now because the fit is different and they look cheaper . It’s a shame

Thank you for your review. There have been no significant changes in where shoes are made, nor the sizing, we are sorry if you feel that the fit is not the same. Quality is very important to us, there may be some styles that are more delicate, or of different materials to keep up with current trends, but you should find that all are finished to a high standard. The shoes are beautiful but they are too narrow I am disappointed with the company as they do not offer free returns, I will not be shopping here again!

You can take back to any Charles Clinkard store, or send back using a courier or Royal Mail service. There is also a link on our website to Collect + where you can purchase a label for £4.49 and this will cover up to 10 kilo in one package allowing several returns to be sent back together. Seem to be narrower than normal but no indication of what width the shoe is. Also the zip over the big toe is not comfortable as it begins just where the join on the big toe is.

There are similar shoes in a wider fitting, if you use the filters on the site, it asks if you would like standard or wide, you may find that there is a shoe that you like as much that is a better fit for you on this occasion. Although described as wide, the boots were actually standard width. In fact they were quite narrow. Sadly I had to return them. As the return is at your own expense, I won't be ordering again.

Gabor shoes has been a brand I have used regularly. However as I have got older but still love nice boots and shoes, I have found Gabor shoes and boots not wide enough even those labelled as wide fit. Have had to return 2 pairs of boots, too narrow. All my friends have same problem. We want nice shoes but our wishes are certainly not needed.

Thank you for your review and for sharing your findings. Some of our customers have found that by getting a half size larger, this increases the area within the shoe and makes for a better fit. It does not work for everyone, however it may be worth a try for you to see if the shoe is more comfortable. If the shoe becomes a little too roomy, you can add an insole and then when you change these on occasion, then it keeps the inside of the shoes fresher too. Product is great but arrived damaged, with a cut on the front. Despite assurances that a replacement would be sent, it was not despatched until 5 days after my call to customer services. Then, knowing there was a 2 day postal strike the next day, the replacement was sent Royal mail. Having returned the damaged pair after 10 days I am still waiting for the replacement pair. Reputation is built on customer services - this was not a great experience.

Unfortunately we do not have our own courier and use either Royal Mail or DPD. We should on this occasion have used DPD for you, as you correctly state, Royal Mail are striking and it has caused delays. Saw Gabor Hi Top Trainers in John Lewis but did not have my size. Ordered online at £110. Came in next day , box perfect, boots perfect with all transit packing in boots and box. Looked online to see reviews of boots and Gabor had them at £80. If the difference was a couple of pounds I would not have bothered. Re-Ordered online from Gabor on 27/10 and it took ages for them to arrive with no tracking details or emails. Had to ring and was told they were out of stock potentially and might have to come from a store into a hub then out to me. Arrived eventually on 3rd Nov. Box damaged, boots scuffed , no packaging inside boots, display type ticket on boots made an indent. Obviously a shop pair that others may have tried on. Not good at all really but could not face sending them back and trying to get the John Lewis ordered again. I guess the £30 off makes up for the less than great customer experience.

Unfortunately, neither of the pairs of shoes ordered fitted nicely so i returned them - the cost to return them was outrageous...and i would not buy from a site without free returns again.

Thank you for your review. There is a link on our website to Collect +, this is £4.49 and would cover up to 10 kilos of returns in one package. This would allow you to send several pair of shoes back ifor this low cost. If you wish to send back via Royal Mail, you can send back using a 2nd class package which will keep the cost low, you can then for an extra 80p or so, add tracking so that you can see when they arrive. An expensive next day service is not required as we allow up to one year for unworn items to be returned for refund. You can also take unwanted items back to a Charles Clinkard store if you have one close to you. Shoes not as wide as stated plus had to pay to return out of own pocket. Dissatisfied with service considering the cost of the shoes. Have bought before but first time to buy online.

There is a link on our website to collect+ which allows you to return up to 10 kilo (so several pair of shoes) for the low cost of £4.49. Shoes arrived in a poor state. When I opened the box I knew these shoes were not in top condition. The wrapping paper around the shoes was very creased. The shoes look as if they had been handled by someone with dirty or dusty hands. One shoe had a wooden stick. The bows on the shoes were not covered. The tips of the toes were shiny. The shoes looked as if they had been returned and then sent out to me without any inspection. I had to wear them as I was going to a wedding and didn’t have time to get another pair. When I buy shoes on line they are usually in a pristine condition so I was very disappointed. I have bought Gabor shoes before without a problem so will still give an 8.

Sadly wide-fit do not have an appropriate wide sole, so foot will start to hang over the edges. Otherwise really lovely boot.
