Seem to be narrower than normal but no indication of what width the shoe is. Also the zip over the big toe is not comfortable as it begins just where the join on the big toe is.

Thank you for your review of the Gabor Wisdom. This is a standard fitting shoe, we are sorry to hear that you found it a little narrow for your requirements. There are similar shoes in a wider fitting, if you use the filters on the site, it asks if you would like standard or wide, you may find that there is a shoe that you like as much that is a better fit for you on this occasion. Although described as wide, the boots were actually standard width. In fact they were quite narrow. Sadly I had to return them. As the return is at your own expense, I won't be ordering again.

Gabor shoes has been a brand I have used regularly. However as I have got older but still love nice boots and shoes, I have found Gabor shoes and boots not wide enough even those labelled as wide fit. Have had to return 2 pairs of boots, too narrow. All my friends have same problem. We want nice shoes but our wishes are certainly not needed.

Thank you for your review and for sharing your findings. Some of our customers have found that by getting a half size larger, this increases the area within the shoe and makes for a better fit. It does not work for everyone, however it may be worth a try for you to see if the shoe is more comfortable. If the shoe becomes a little too roomy, you can add an insole and then when you change these on occasion, then it keeps the inside of the shoes fresher too. Product is great but arrived damaged, with a cut on the front. Despite assurances that a replacement would be sent, it was not despatched until 5 days after my call to customer services. Then, knowing there was a 2 day postal strike the next day, the replacement was sent Royal mail. Having returned the damaged pair after 10 days I am still waiting for the replacement pair. Reputation is built on customer services - this was not a great experience.

Thank you for your review. I apologise sincerely that your order has not arrived with you yet and you have had to wait for your replacement shoes. Unfortunately we do not have our own courier and use either Royal Mail or DPD. We should on this occasion have used DPD for you, as you correctly state, Royal Mail are striking and it has caused delays. I have had these boots for years but this year they are incredibly narrow so I am afraid these will have to go back

Saw Gabor Hi Top Trainers in John Lewis but did not have my size. Ordered online at £110. Came in next day , box perfect, boots perfect with all transit packing in boots and box. Looked online to see reviews of boots and Gabor had them at £80. If the difference was a couple of pounds I would not have bothered. Re-Ordered online from Gabor on 27/10 and it took ages for them to arrive with no tracking details or emails. Had to ring and was told they were out of stock potentially and might have to come from a store into a hub then out to me. Arrived eventually on 3rd Nov. Box damaged, boots scuffed , no packaging inside boots, display type ticket on boots made an indent. Obviously a shop pair that others may have tried on. Not good at all really but could not face sending them back and trying to get the John Lewis ordered again. I guess the £30 off makes up for the less than great customer experience.

The colour was not as described online and having to fund the return postage is inconvenient.

Love the shoes however this time didn’t fit and I was unaware of the cost to return the two pairs! So pretty disappointed in that.

We do deliver free of charge, and would send out any exchanges where we cover the postage cost to the customer. But we do ask customes to cover the cost of returns. You can buy a label from a link to Collect + on our website where for £4.49, you can return up to 10 kilos. You can also return items to any Charles Clinkard store if you have one near to you. Unfortunately, neither of the pairs of shoes ordered fitted nicely so i returned them - the cost to return them was outrageous...and i would not buy from a site without free returns again.

Thank you for your review. There is a link on our website to Collect +, this is £4.49 and would cover up to 10 kilos of returns in one package. This would allow you to send several pair of shoes back ifor this low cost. If you wish to send back via Royal Mail, you can send back using a 2nd class package which will keep the cost low, you can then for an extra 80p or so, add tracking so that you can see when they arrive. An expensive next day service is not required as we allow up to one year for unworn items to be returned for refund. You can also take unwanted items back to a Charles Clinkard store if you have one close to you. Shoes not as wide as stated plus had to pay to return out of own pocket. Dissatisfied with service considering the cost of the shoes. Have bought before but first time to buy online.

Thank you for your review. We do deliver to customers free of charge, but as stated in our terms and conditions ask for returns to be paid for by the customer. There is a link on our website to collect+ which allows you to return up to 10 kilo (so several pair of shoes) for the low cost of £4.49. You can however choose any postal or courier service that you wish. You can also take items back to any Charles Clinkard store. I hope that this helps for future reference. Shoes arrived in a poor state. When I opened the box I knew these shoes were not in top condition. The wrapping paper around the shoes was very creased. The shoes look as if they had been handled by someone with dirty or dusty hands. One shoe had a wooden stick. The bows on the shoes were not covered. The tips of the toes were shiny. The shoes looked as if they had been returned and then sent out to me without any inspection. I had to wear them as I was going to a wedding and didn’t have time to get another pair. When I buy shoes on line they are usually in a pristine condition so I was very disappointed. I have bought Gabor shoes before without a problem so will still give an 8.

My order was canceled for security reason, which wasn’t clearly explained. The shipment was out but then recalled. I don’t know what happened. Very disappointed.

Sadly wide-fit do not have an appropriate wide sole, so foot will start to hang over the edges. Otherwise really lovely boot.

I was delighted with my shoes when I received them. I then tried them on. The beautiful soft leather at the front of the shoe appeared to have a thin wire inside it at the front. This dug in to the top of my toes really hurting. I was very disappointed.

Lovely boots - but one boot was significantly tighter than the other one - which is annoying because I had to pay for postage to send them back because of this!

Slow delivery time. Two of the pairs of shoes were no good and there's no where local to return them to.

We do also offer a paid-for express service along with the free service which can take up to 5 working days to dispatch. With regard to the return, I can see that you returned your order to a store, however, there is a link to collect+ on our website which is £4.49 and covers up to 10 kilos allowing you to return several items together for this low cost. Lovely shoes but unfortunately neither pair fitted properly, plus the smaller pair were very scuffed on the toes which, even if they had fitted, I would not have purchased them.

There are several ranges from Gabor, such as Comfort, Rolling soft etc, and each may fit slightly differently as the width may differ. It may be an idea to go into a Charles Clinkard or other Gabor shop if you have one close to see which style is the best fit for you? Kind regards, Janice - customer services
