I ordered and paid for the purchase to be gift-wrapped. The goods were as always exactly what I wanted and I have no complaints about them but the gift(?) wrapping was truly amateurish and atrocious. I am sure that Charles Clinkard,whoever he may be, would not have wanted to present his wife with the mess you expected me to do. If you cannot make a gift wrapping presentable then I suggest you stop offering and charging for it. I certainly will not be availing myself of this service in future

Gave them two orders. The first order, a pair of flat shoes, had been worn sufficiently to crease the leather! However, my wife was not sufficiently concerned for me to return them. The second order, a pair of ankle boots, was the wrong size. My order and confirmation were for size 7 whereas the boots that arrived were 6 1/2. Needless to say, the boots have been returned and I wait to see whether Clinkards can in some way redeem themselves. These were not discounted price items and I expected better.

Received my order but not happy with the quality of the slippers. Seeing as though I spent £50 on a pair of Luxury slippers I’d expect them to be immaculate. However each slipper was different to the other. The texture of the leather of one slipper was all crumpled and looked cheap. I emailed twice about the issue and am yet to hear back from someone. Seeing as though this is a Christmas gift I’m very anxious to hear back. Very disappointed. Would not recommend so far.

I have read all of these reviews and hope you can turn my very poor experience into a positive experience. I ordered a pair of Josef Seibel boots on December 10th for my daughter's Christmas. They arrived on December 16th. Unfortunately, when I opened the parcel I found a pair of men's trainers and the recipients name inside of the parcel was not my name. There was no returns label and no phone number to contact Charles Clinkard. I located a number and was given help and a returns label. I took the boots immediately to the post office and e-mailed customer service the returns reference. I had been told that the boots were in stock and would be dispatched when I had proof of posting. I have now been told that the boots will be dispatched as soon as possible. I'm not sure what this means. Does it mean I will have them in time for Christmas?. I ordered them in plenty of time and this was not my mistake.

Asked for a Uk 11, none in store, was told to order a 45 online. Ordered in store and item arrived. Box says 45 = 10 not 11. Spoke to store, they say 45 is 11?? So who is right and who is wrong? is manufacturer wrong? Returned and purchased same shoe in 11 from elsewhere - so much easier

Hello Thankyou for your review. Rieker are a continental brand and how they convert their EU sizes does differ from other companies and unfortunately there is no uniformity across the shoe industry. A standard EU45 would be an 11 however Rieker have converted this EU45 into a UK10 and we apologise for the confusion regarding this. Oder arrived on time but there was a “in the sale” price tag on the boots that was considerably cheaper than the price I paid online which wasn’t happy about. Boots were lovely but too small and had to send them back. And had to pay £10 at post office to return them even though they were £70. Most companies offer a free returns over certain value. Not happy.

With regards to price advertised on the box, this has been placed on the box in error, as the shoes are retailing at the price you ordered them at and we are sorry for this error. With regards to returns, we offer free standard UK delivery on a spend over £40.00, dispatched within 5 working days, however do ask customers to pay towards the cost of the return. You can of course return to a store if one is near to you however there are cost efficient ways of sending back your order. Although we do recommend a tracked service, there are different levels of service and cover you can choose at the Post Office when returning. You can return via Collectplus which is £4.49 for up to 10KG and is ideal for larger items or multiple orders, the link to this option can be found in the returns section of our website. We appreciate the feedback regarding the returns policy and will pass this onto the correct department, as we are constantly reviewing our policies to ensure the best service for our customers. I ordered a Peter Kaiser bag for a wedding. When it arrived it wasn’t in its original PK box and had glitter stuck to the suede. I contacted Charles Clinkard and explained that I had expected it to be in its original box and in perfect condition. They sent a replacement bag which arrived wrapped only in a plastic bag. It was an expensive bag and although I appreciated the replacement, it was disappointing not to have the original packaging.

Thank you for your review. Delivery to yourself if free and if you wish to exchange we would again cover the postage to you. We have a link on our website to collect plus for £4.49 you can return up to 10 kilo. Alternatively, if you send Royal Mail using a second class service it is about £3 to return and you can add tracking for approximately 80p more. I hope that this information helps. As you have to pay to return boots which weigh a lot and are too tight it’s off putting to buy from CC. There isn’t a shop within 60 miles.

I went into the Teesside Park shop and tried on a pair of shoes size 39. They were a bit small so I asked if they had a size 40. The assistant said there was none in the shop but she could order them. I did order them and paid for them and received an email s few days later today they were there for collection. I drove 8 miles to the shop but unfortunately when she handed the shoes over they were size 39 not 40 as I had ordered, I was told I could have them delivered to my home and that would have been okay if only I had received an apology for my wasted journey. Not the serviceI expect from Clinkards

I didn’t realize that I was responsible for the cost of returning the three pairs of boots, which came to £9.95 just for trying them. I will look elsewhere before buying from you purely on that basis unfortunately.

The shoes I bought were too large despite being my usual size, fair enough I don’t normally buy footwear on line, however I was astonished that returns had to be paid by me! I decided to return them to a store, 20 miles away, only to get there to find there were no systems working! The staff had no idea how to give me a receipt for my returned order. I was not impressed, I had to go back an hour later by which time they were able to process it.

One our of the 2 pairs ordered didnot reflect the coulour shown on the website. The second pair were not fir for purpose as they let in water initially by the toe tip which spread to the inner sole of the shoe.

Fine selection of shoes, unfortunately not in size 12. Staff very apologetic but I am still shoeless. In a city (Nottingham) where a policeman had to be 6ft tall to join up back in the 1950s, with correspondingly large feet, and whose offspring are similarly tall, I would have thought that there is a demand for size 12 footwear.

Extremely disappointed with the colour of the shoes, not like the photograph and certainly not chestnut colour, much more like taupe which I don’t want. A small scratch on apron of the right shoe. Fit of the shoes was good. Also disappointed that I have to pay to send them back for a reason that is not my fault. Unlikely to use you again.

Very disappointing experience today. This was entirely due to the person that served me in the shop. She was clearly in a very bad mood as evidenced by the way she slammed the shoe boxes down on the counter. As a result I felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t wait to get out of the shop. I don’t know what precipitated this behaviour but I was quite shocked. Hopefully a one off. I suspect the manager must be aware of an issue with this individual and is hopefully dealing with it.

Usually really happy with Charles Clinkard’s service but it all went wrong this time. I paid extra for express delivery but it arrived the same day/time regular delivery was estimated. Was delivered to a different address as Clinkards changed my delivery address sometime between me ordering (correct address on order confirmation) and them dispatching the order. Luckily it was in same village & a post was put on Facebook saying where it was. I booked a callback to talk about what went wrong. They didn’t call me but sent an email after the booked time had passed asking for my feedback on the call that didn’t happen. After all that none of the shoes fitted😩 but that’s not their fault. Sorry Clinkards, I love you usually but not on this occasion :(

Hello Thankyou for your review. Express delivery is dispatched within 2-3 working days and does not include bank holidays. On checking the order, this was dispatched on the third working day for you. Express delivery is available on all items on a UK delivery, the stock may not be located in our warehouse and extra days allows time for the requested items to be posted to us ready for dispatch. The bag which I ordered to use for my daughters wedding was lovely but the wrist strap broke almost immediately - thankfully just before I walked down the aisle to take my seat. I had to use the shoulder strap which was disappointing as I particularly wanted a clutch with a wrist strap …
