The order arrived promtly. However the sticky label on the insole was stuck on so strongly that taking it off pulled some of the lining material off leaving it looking a mess. it wouldn't have been so bad if it had been a shoe but it was a mule and so the sole would have shown when sitting as it was under the heel. I will be returning these but have ordered another pair as I really liked them and they were so comfortable. I will soak the sticky label off with warm water and sticky stuff remover.

Thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry that you have received a pair of shoes that have a label that you were unable to remove. Dampening the label does help, or even if you water down some nail varnish remover it should lift out for you as it breaks down the glue. We would recommend not getting them too damp and the innersole will stay looking new. We hope that the sticky stuff remover works for you should the next pair also have a label inside. The shoes are lovely and very comfortable so long as you don’t walk anywhere because when you do the sling back does not stay on your heel making them feel like a very heavy flip flop and you can’t walk properly in them. They were an expensive shoe and I am very disappointed with them.

Thank you for your review. The slingback should be tight enough to not slip down when you are walking, unfortunately, with this shoe there is no buckle to enable you to make it tighter. You can buy a gel heel grip for sling backs that does not show and stops the shoe strap from slipping. You can get these in most good shoe shops. You may find that this helps a lot. I order these online. They were in the sale. Very disappointed when received, as they had been used. There were marks on the soles, where someone had walked on them also scuff makes all over the edges of the sandals. I complained, by phone, after a few email I was given 15% off the price. If it wasn’t for the fact I needed them this Saturday gone, I would have sent them back. Not the outcome I would have expected from a major shoe company , such as yours. One very disappointed customer.

Sizing of sandals off by a mile - size 4 too small (my usual size) - size 5 still too small so have given up and will return both items - really liked them so very disappointed in this item

I have paid to return a purchase yet again. The trainers were not trainers but fashion boots. Really disappointed that they had no trainer insole.

I don’t appreciate having VAT added on to my goods at the checkout. I also will not shop with you again because of having to pay postage on returns.

Thank you for your review. The price shown advertised is the price that you would pay for the shoe. We do not add VAT afterwards, but the breakdown may show the amount that was VAT within that price. We do deliver free of charge but ask the customer to cover the cost of return postage or return to a Charles Clinkard store. We allow up to 1 year to return for a refund or exchange so long as the shoe is unworn. Kind regards, Janice - customer services

The shoes i ordered were listed at Fifty seven pounds fifty in your sail when the statement arrived you had charged me sixty nine pounds ninety nine. Please can you rectify this mistake .

Thank you for your review. These shoes were reduced from £95.00 to £69.00 in the sale and have never been lower in price. You should see that your order confirmation shows £69.00. This was sent to you on the 3rd of July and the shoes were then dispatched on the 5th of July. If you are not happy with the price charged which will have shown when you made the order, you can return them unworn for a full refund, by post or you can take them back to a Charles Clinkard store. I purchased a pair of shoes from you in store (Sheffield Medowhall) and since they did not have the size in stock they arranged home delivery. These were delivered and unfortunately, they sent the wrong size. I had to return these items at my own expense which since the mistake was yours seems rather unfair. The cost of the return was £4.45. The correct size was eventually delivered but in view of the costs involved in returns I am pretty sure that I will not use this service again.

Just received my order yesterday. Fast delivery. Good quality. But...extremely disappointed by the appearance of the shoes. Totally different shape and pattern from the picture on the website. Doesn't worth the money. I had to return them. Shame.

SAdly I didn't receive the order placed. I choose to click and collect from a DPD pick up store but the parcel never arrived. I called customer services and they recalled the parcel from DPD and anticipated sending me another pair but sadly the pair that had been despatched was the last of that pair so my order got cancelled.

I odered a pair of sandels from you because my size was not avaliable, in your Newcastle store. When they arrived l discovered that they had been used and were worn. I returned these and received refund. Not happy that this had occurred.

Had Dispatch email, tracking didn’t work, click and collect delivery- no info received- called on receipt of this email (6 days later) to be told at click and collect location- attended today (first day shop open since my call to say parcel sent back as not collected within 7 days. Fuming

Won’t be ordering from them again as it is too expensive to return them if they are not suitable. You need to try shoes on so will only order from “free return” shops in future.

The boot arrived very quickly, and well wrapped and boxed. However, when I bought the boot on-line, the site clearly said no postage over £40.00 purchase. I was charged £5.95 and attempted to cancel the order - I had no response to my request, I still haven't. The order arrived - I paid to send it back immediately. The best thing about this whole transaction was the swift refund, minus the cost of P & P. The postage has since been refunded since my negative review. Thank you.

Thank you for your review. You are right that standard postage is free if your order is over £40, this is including sale items if they are also over £40. I had a look at your order and because you have opted for a next day delivery, this is why there has been a postage charge. Your order will have been prioritised above others and sent out the same day as you ordered, using an overnight courier. I have searched for an email from you but cannot see one, we reply to all emails so I apologise that you tried to cancel and did not get a reply. The best way to do this is call as you would get an instant response. it is only a local rate charge and not a premium number. 0345 241 7742. Ordered four pairs of shoes/boots to try, took slightly longer to arrive than expected. Three pairs well packaged but just not suitable. One box had two shoes of different sizes. This also happened to me in-store previously.

I ordered and paid for the purchase to be gift-wrapped. The goods were as always exactly what I wanted and I have no complaints about them but the gift(?) wrapping was truly amateurish and atrocious. I am sure that Charles Clinkard,whoever he may be, would not have wanted to present his wife with the mess you expected me to do. If you cannot make a gift wrapping presentable then I suggest you stop offering and charging for it. I certainly will not be availing myself of this service in future
