Although my order was fine I was shocked to find that if the boots hadn’t have fitted correctly as can often be the case with footwear, the return would have to be paid for by me. I won’t order again from you due to this as I feel distance selling of footwear should have free returns in the UK.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Our returns policy is included in our terms and conditions which we ask customers to agree to when placing on order online. I am sorry if the information was not accessible to you. Returns can be made to any of our Charles Clinkard branches and with our 365 day returns policy, you have plenty of time to return when it suits you. I have already been in touch via email with you. The Birkenstock slippers arrived in a box that had clearly been badly damaged, was taped up and barely containing the slippers. You refunded me 15% of the price immediately, so I thank you for that. But your warehouse/postroom staff should not be sending out products in that condition.

One boot hand been tried on you could tell by the size & scuffs on the leather. The box was broken the tissue paper looked like it was retrieved from the bin.

After buying some Mens shoes online that didn't suit I needed to return them, the returns information gave the option to drop off at a shop which I prefer as sometimes stuff goes missing with Royal Mail. The only shop near me in essex is about 30 miles away. On arrival the shop staff told me they did not accept retruns and i'd have to post them (the staff were very nice and helpful, not thier fault). I showed them on the reciept where it said i could return in shop but they still didn't take them, the assistant did call customer services for me which was nice. The information was incorrect and the returns process is rubbish imo, still waiting for reciept of return and refund. I won't use this lot again.

I ordered a David jones bag and it came in a plastic bag with an elastic band round it! Not how I was expecting a £40 gift to come packaged

Shoes are OK but the buckles are fiddly and suede definitely not durable. I had to put insoles in as not really any cushioning under foot. I'm happy to pay for quality shoes but these aren't worth it. First time purchase of Gabor and Charles Clinkard so disappointed and won't be returning.

Placed an order online for a pair of gents leather slippers. Eventually received a message advising they were in stock. Expecting delivery to my home I telephoned and they were delivered. The slippers are the worst quality imaginable!

Whoever you use for delivery, DPD, I think. The day , which I had paid extra for quick delivery, messaged me to say he couldn’t deliver, as we were not in, and gate locked. The photo he sent was NOT MY HOUSE. I messaged this and the next day another driver did deliver it to our back porch as instructed. So not very impressed, especially as I paid extra for quick delivery, and the got an idiot driver.

I purchased a size 4 slipper from you. Same as The ones that I have had before. When they arrived I could see straight away they were too big definitely not a 4. They actually looked as though someone with a larger foot had tried them on. Thankfully I’ve had a refund but posting them back to you cost me £6-39p.

Our returns department have examined them but were unable to identify an issue with the sizing. It might be worth tyring the size down, to see if these are better for you. I returned two pair of shoes in mid October and three weeks later was still waiting for a refund. I phoned and apparently there was a glitch in the system! Anyway got it sorted but kinda disappointed as Charles Clinkard is usually spot on with everything. They’ve had my money for three weeks and I had nothing. Should have phoned them earlier. Just disappointing.

The shoes were ordered online. When delivered they had clearly been returned by another customer. They were not wrapped in the tissue paper. As a result the suede was scuffed and they were returned damaged to the shop. The assistant at the shop was very helpful and apologetic.

Ordered a pair of Fly of London boots and the right boot is larger and of a poor quality leather,not very happy,quality control is not up to standard

Hi, I have placed my order on the 20th October. I got confirmation on the 30th October it had been despatched. It is now the 7th of November and the order still has not left the UK. If I place a order with farfetch or these other online stores, I get within 3-4 days. It has been 8 days so far and still not even left the UK. I am not one to typically complain, however must say I am disapointed with this experiecnce.

Your order left the UK on the 31st of October and the tracking updates once it has been handed over to your country's delivery partner. The Rieker shoes I received were described as "extra wide fit". In fact they were narrower than "H" fitting. No good to me, so I returned them. The shoes are made in Europe and evidently there are no people in Europe with feet wider than the above.

I can see that you have also chatted with one of my colleagues and she was able to confirm to you that your refund was made on the 21st October, which is the day that your return was processed. She has emailed you with the last 4 digits of the card used sot that you can check this. I need to use orthotics which means I have to be able to replace the insoles that come with shoes. The insoles on these shoes were fixed so I couldn't wear the shoes. There was no mention of this on the website, why not?

Shoess were clearly returned by another customer as the soles were dirty . I didn’t have time to return as they were for my daughter’s birthday. You would expect that such expensive shoes would have been checked ? Very disappointed

The shop in Keswick is excellent. Staff v friendly and helpful but they do not receive shoes in my size, which is EU 41. I had to order online. I paid for next day as 3-5 days delivery is too unpredictable and unsafe for an expensive order. The shoes did not fit right. To return I had to either pay and drive to the Post Office to post or drive back to Keswick to the shop. You did not refund next day delivery charge. So I was paying extra a few times over. Why? Because the head office does not provide Keswick store with size 41. I tried to call your helpline several times. Someone put the phone down on me every time as soon as I selected the correct automated option. Local shop - Excellent. Central office - Poor.

Thank you for your review. I am sincerely sorry that you have had a problem with connecting to our Customer service team. We are here 7 days a week to help our customers. Customer service is very important to us, and that you were unable to connect to us is very disappointing. We will look out for this happeneing to others, but we are unaware of a problem at the present time. We do offer a free delivery postage service of which can take 2 to 5 working days. However as you asked for a next day, this is charged as it is prioritised over other orders and then send out with a next day service courier. This payment is not refunded. If you prefer not to send back your order via the post office, for which there is a link to buy a tracked ticket for just £3.20 on our website, you may send back using any courier that you wish. We also allow up to 365 days for you to return an order so if you are not near one of our stores, but do visit an area where there is one occasionally, you can return to store if you prefer.
