Bought my daughter's school shoes just before she started back school. She got fitted for a size 11. After her first day at school she came home with big blisters on her heels. After looking at the shoes I discovered I had been sold an 11.5 so she is now wearing 2 pairs of socks until they fit her properly.

Thank you for your review. When you have your childs feet measured in store, this is a guide and you may sometimes find that in certain brands the size may differ slightly and you need maybe a half size larger or smaller. If you feel that your child was not fitted correctly, please go back to store so that they can check for you. Also when you have had soft shoes on during the summer and then go into harder shoes, it is best to wear them around the home at first to get used to them as our feet are no longer used to the harder leather. I do hope that your daughters feet heal soon, and if you do feel that the size is incorrect, that you will give the store an opportunity to have a look. Kind regards, Janice - customer services

Royal Mail did not deliver the items and returned it to Charles clinkard who for sone reason have only refunded one item so far

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you did not recveive your order. Upon checking, you have been refunded for both pair of shoes, I hope that you are able to see this on your statement, however your postage had not been refunded so I have corrected this for you today. The product was described as wide and there was no way on this earth that they were wide. They were not in their proper box and very poorly packed. It is also outrageous that the customer had to pay for returning a product that was incorrectly described and was therefore unsuitable.

Great quality shoes, but poor customer service, it took 5 days for my order to arrived after I paid for express delivery. I returned part of my order and after a confirmation from collect plus that my return was received at the CC warehouse 2 days ago I have yet to receive a refund or even acknowledgment from Charles Clinkard. After a much faster and efficient service from other retailers I will not be a returning customer.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately weekends do not count as working days so we are sorry that you thought that this order has taken a long time. I can see that it was delivered on a Monday for you. With regard to returns, we aim to get them done and refund within 3 working days, however at the present time with it being back to school just ended, and people ordering different sixes for the children to try on, there are a lot of returns at the moment. I ordered my daughter's shoes nearly two weeks ago and we still haven't had them. DHL apparently tried to deliver them and we still are without the shoes.

Disappointing to have to pay returns as well as shipping. Most people buying children’s shoes will want to buy more than one size to check fit. To have to pay to return the others is an expense that means I won’t be using CC again. I appreciate it’s costly for a business, but to remain competitive, this needs to be addressed.

Thank you for your review. Delivery is free, however, you opted for an express delivery which is why there was a charge. With the return, you can take it to your local Charles Clinkard store. You do have one within 5 miles and you have up to 365 days to return an unworn item for a refund. If you do decide to return by post, we do ask customers to pay for the return as you are aware, you could maybe call into the shop instead. I hope that this information helps. Paid extra for next day delivery. Purchased Friday morning. Got email saying it will be with you tomorrow. They didn't arrive till Wednesday. Where's my refund for the postage..... ?

I had ordered Gabor sandals as a present for my mum. Ordered on line and asked for delivery to a store. The store rang to say the order has arrived with one sandal missing. There were none in the store or online for me to reorder. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of care and the carelessness with the shoe box would have been packed.

I used Charles Clinkard in Wetherby as I needed a pair of school shoes and a pair of trainers for my two sons. The lady who served us only brought two pairs of school shoes and she never offered for my son to try the second pair on after he said they hurt at the side she just said its because they are new. Had no luck on this trip with my 13 year old who needed a wider fitting as she told me to ring up and see if they have had a delivery. I did this a couple of time and a helpful lady asked me if she had ordered them in for me. The 1st lady had not ordered them in or offered to order them in. I felt like It was a bad service after I spent just shy of £200 and that you no long offer the £5 off when you buy school shoes and trainers together.

I was very disappointed with my delivery. I ended up spending 3 different days waiting on my parcel. DPD were hopeless and kept saying they had tried to deliver my parcel and that I wasn't in when I absolutely was in. In total, I was on the phone seven times trying to sort out delivery. This is totally unacceptable. When the shoes finally arrived one of the boxes was badly damaged. I liked both pairs of shoes but because of the poor delivery service, I would not order from your company again.

Thank you for your review. Upon reading the tracking, DPD does state that they have left a calling card on two occasions and also an image of the property where they have left it. We are sorry if they have missed you and that you did not receive your parcel. We do not have our own courier but pay DPD or Royal Mail to deliver for us, so apologise sincerely if you feel that this was not what happened. I can see that you contacted us about this. I ordered the fit flops they were tight over the instep. You advised me to use tracked post for the return which cost me £8.50. You have shown the advantage of using Amazon. You d not have any shops to return to in my area I.e St.Albans

The shoes were excellent and arrived promptly. Unfortunately they did not fit and the colour was wrong. I feel that your company should make more effort to describe the colour accurately since obviously colours are not always represented accurately on computer screens Also I had to pay 8.95 to send them back with tracking and because of their value. I have since bought shoes from another company and when the first pair didn´t fit I was able to send them back for free with Yodel. I will not be buying shoes from you again because if they are not suitable it is simply too expensive.

Thank you for your review. You can take your order back to any Charles Clinkard store, ( I am aware that there is not one close to yourself) or return it by Royal Mail or any courier of your choice. A shoe of this size can be returned by Royal Mail for approximately £ 3.50-second class and if you wish can add tracking for a further 80p. Royal Mail can charge up to £11.50 for the next day signed for service, but you do not need to use this. We also have a link on our website to Collect + where you can buy a label for £4.49 which will cover up to 10 kilos in weight, enabling you to send several pairs of shoes back at one time if you wish. We deliver free of charge and if you wished to have an exchange, we would again pay the postage cost to you. The order arrived promtly. However the sticky label on the insole was stuck on so strongly that taking it off pulled some of the lining material off leaving it looking a mess. it wouldn't have been so bad if it had been a shoe but it was a mule and so the sole would have shown when sitting as it was under the heel. I will be returning these but have ordered another pair as I really liked them and they were so comfortable. I will soak the sticky label off with warm water and sticky stuff remover.

Thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry that you have received a pair of shoes that have a label that you were unable to remove. Dampening the label does help, or even if you water down some nail varnish remover it should lift out for you as it breaks down the glue. We would recommend not getting them too damp and the innersole will stay looking new. We hope that the sticky stuff remover works for you should the next pair also have a label inside. The shoes are lovely and very comfortable so long as you don’t walk anywhere because when you do the sling back does not stay on your heel making them feel like a very heavy flip flop and you can’t walk properly in them. They were an expensive shoe and I am very disappointed with them.

Thank you for your review. The slingback should be tight enough to not slip down when you are walking, unfortunately, with this shoe there is no buckle to enable you to make it tighter. You can buy a gel heel grip for sling backs that does not show and stops the shoe strap from slipping. You can get these in most good shoe shops. You may find that this helps a lot. I order these online. They were in the sale. Very disappointed when received, as they had been used. There were marks on the soles, where someone had walked on them also scuff makes all over the edges of the sandals. I complained, by phone, after a few email I was given 15% off the price. If it wasn’t for the fact I needed them this Saturday gone, I would have sent them back. Not the outcome I would have expected from a major shoe company , such as yours. One very disappointed customer.

Sizing of sandals off by a mile - size 4 too small (my usual size) - size 5 still too small so have given up and will return both items - really liked them so very disappointed in this item

I have paid to return a purchase yet again. The trainers were not trainers but fashion boots. Really disappointed that they had no trainer insole.

I don’t appreciate having VAT added on to my goods at the checkout. I also will not shop with you again because of having to pay postage on returns.

Thank you for your review. The price shown advertised is the price that you would pay for the shoe. We do not add VAT afterwards, but the breakdown may show the amount that was VAT within that price. We do deliver free of charge but ask the customer to cover the cost of return postage or return to a Charles Clinkard store. The shoes i ordered were listed at Fifty seven pounds fifty in your sail when the statement arrived you had charged me sixty nine pounds ninety nine. Please can you rectify this mistake .

Thank you for your review. These shoes were reduced from £95.00 to £69.00 in the sale and have never been lower in price. You should see that your order confirmation shows £69.00. This was sent to you on the 3rd of July and the shoes were then dispatched on the 5th of July. If you are not happy with the price charged which will have shown when you made the order, you can return them unworn for a full refund, by post or you can take them back to a Charles Clinkard store.
