Ordered shoes online, arrived heavily scuffed and one shoe was very worn.

Hello Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m sorry to see the condition your shoes have arrived in. We can source pairs from our stores when the stock in our warehouse has been sold out, which may have been tried on at some point. However, this pair has not been checked on the point of dispatch and we will raise this with our dispatch team. I can see you have spoken to our customer service department and a pre-paid label has been sent to you, a pair has been reserved for your exchange. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. I'm sure no fault of Charles Clinkard but that of their courier (DPD). Got postcard to say I was not at home on delivery day. This was untrue. Parcel arrived following day and immediately knew something was wrong by shape of box. Parcel bound with DPD tape and when opened box was completely squashed and one of the shoes damaged. CK responded very promptly to my email and awaiting replacement after sending damaged shoes back.

I paid extra for a Friday/Saturday delivery but the shoes did not arrive till Wednesday 11th. October.

My shoes arrived in a badly damaged box inside a plastic bag. The left shoe is wider than the right and also mis-shapen. I now have the worry of sending them back because there is no Charles Clinkard near me. Very disappointed.

I ordered a pair of slip on Sketchers, in a size 9. I have never had problems with shoe sizes, but the Sketchers are half a size too small (even though they are labelled as a size 9). I have read elsewhere that Sketchers has a reputation for making shoes half a size too small. I think Charles Clinkard should raise this issue with Sketchers and also give customers warning about the issue. The shoes are useless to me and I've wasted my money.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you found these shoes to be too small for you. You can return the shoes for full refund within 365 days so long as unworn. We do hope that you will be able to do this and then you can buy something that is a better fitting for yourself. I have checked reviews and information on the skechers shoes, and they seem to come up with a fairly standard size. There are some that say that they are large, others say small, but most say good fit and true to size. Skechers are the third largest footwear Company in the USA and sold by many different retailers. If you have worn the shoes outside and unabe to return them to us, please wear them around the home, they will stretch a little as the fabric warms and stretches to you feet and you may find that in the future, you find them to be very comfortable. Very disappointing as the trainers I ordered had obvious been worn. Both soles were dirty, creases on the top of both shoes and one was scuffed. Not what you expect from a pair of trainers costing £100!

I have NOT received my order as without my knowledge or consent your vourier DPD apparantly delivered my parcel to a neighbour unknown to me whose name and telephine number I do not have and whise house I visited seversl times but apparantly they are not at home futung daylight hours. I have reported this to you the day after the parcel was supposed to be drlivered to my door and you claimed that my parcel was handed to the neughbour yet the photo shown by DPD shows a parcel lying on the ground among weeds . I am appalled thst despite your asdurance that my parcel would be retrieved and delivered to me this has not happened therefore I request that you refund my slippers and send out a replacement to be delivered by toyal mail as DPD are known to be unreliable and have been seen by a witness somewhere else photographing a parcel on a doorstep then removing it and taking it away againn. For all I know the person who has my parcel may have opened the parcel and be wesring my slippers as they have made no effort to contact me nor admit to having my parcel. I am appalled at your lack of action in this indeed I rang your company twuce yoday only to be disconnected when describing my loss .

We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with DPD leaving your package with a neighbour, they do this rather than taking it away again so that you will receive your order in good time. I have checked the image of the delivery, and it does show a person with a red jacket on, that the package was left with. We apologise sincerely that you were cut off when you telephoned us. It was unfortunate that on that day we did have an issue with our telephone lines and this would not have happened on a different occasion. Paid £49 with free postage & was sent a pair of shoes with £44.10 price tag on, the shoes we're dirty, laces knotted & one lace jammed.in the past I have been delighted with your products and services but am very disappointed with this order and would like a full refund please.

Really not a great experience, sadly I didn’t get my order delivered to me and certainly not in a time au manner. I had to go hunting for it. Shame as this isn’t really reflective of Charles Clinkard but more to do with your chosen delivery partner. You should rethink as they massively let you down.

The Barker shoes I ordered arrived in a badly damaged and sellotaped box! The shoes had clearly been worn with scuffs on the soles and stones lodged in the heels.

I’ve had two pairs of trainers ent to me and both were incorrect sizes. I’ve had to now drive twice to the post office to return these trainers. We live in rural Shropshire so it’s 3 miles to nearest post office. I’ve not been happy with the repost se to my email about this matter. The person simply hasn’t replied to me. I was hoping for some reimbursement for this cost of travel as I’ve had to do it 2 times. Could somebody get in touch with me please. I’ve now sent the second incorrect pair back to you and I’m awaiting a refund which apparently I was told would happen as soon as I prove postage - but nobody has replied to that email. I think it is poor that you lost size 11 Skechers when you don’t even stock them and send out a 10.5 and 11.5 and just think that they will do!? Maybe it was a mistake both times but I shouldn’t have to pay for your mistakes .

Thank you for your review. Skechers are an American Company and equate their sizes slightly differently to us in the UK. You were sent the EU size that you ordered, this equates to a UK size 11. You said that these would be too large and did not try them on your daughter, but asked for a smaller size. This we did for you. You were given a pre paid label on both occasions to return these shoes to us as a good will gesture so that you did not have to pay postage, although the original shoes that you were sent were the correct size. Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the shoes were too big for you. You can take your return back into a Charles Clinkard store for refund, this would then not cost any postage, we allow up to 12 month for returns, so long as unworn. With regards to postage, you can use 2nd class which would be around £3 and you can buy extra tracking for arounf 80p so you would see when they arrived with us. Also there is a link on our webiste to Collect+ where for £4.49 you can buy a label that covers up to 10 kilo of returns. I do hope that this helps for future reference. Way way too long for a delivery to arrive when ordered for delivery to store, sadly wont use again. No expectation set on how long it would take but took about 10 days ridiculous just not what you expect now.

Thank you for your review. We do have 3 delivery options, free delivery which can take from 2 to 5 working days to dispatch, express delivery which is a maximum of 3 working days to dispatch, or next day, but the item has to be wihin our warehouse to do this. On this occasion, we did not have the item in our warehouse, however we were awaiting a delivery for the shoes to come to us from one of our other stores from their warehouse. This was delayed and we apologise sincerely that the time of your order being dispatched was longer than usual. I ordered size 36 and they sent size 42. I ordered black and they sent beige coloured shoes. They sent a refund.

I won’t order from this company again as unlike any other decent company that I make online purchases from: they do not include a returns pre paid sticker, which given the circumstances of online shopping is helpful, especially shoes that require to be tried on with variations in sizing being an issue! I rate online retailers by the ease of return policy and this fall very short of customer expectations.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you feel that not having free returns woud stop you from ordering from us again. Orders over £40 are shipped to customers with free postage and we have many shops around the Country where you can take shoes back to if you have one near to you. We also offer 365 days for full refund if the items are unworn. You can return items to us using second class post which is around £2.85, and pop to your local post office, so long as your order number is inside the package so we know who to refund, we will process all refunds within 3 working days. Alternatively you can use any courier of your choice, or use the link on our website for Collect + which allows up to 10 kilo in weight to be returned for the low cost of £4.49. The reason I’m only giving one star is because when I received my shoes it was obvious that these were someone else’s returns. It appears their quality control failed on this occasion. When I contacted Charles Clinkard with photographs to point this out, there was no acknowledgement. I appreciate people do return goods but I would expect them to be checked and repackaged before selling to another customer
