Disappointed. Shoes too big but had to pay for their return. Will not chance that again!

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the shoes were too big for you. You can take your return back into a Charles Clinkard store for refund, this would then not cost any postage, we allow up to 12 month for returns, so long as unworn. With regards to postage, you can use 2nd class which would be around £3 and you can buy extra tracking for arounf 80p so you would see when they arrived with us. Also there is a link on our webiste to Collect+ where for £4.49 you can buy a label that covers up to 10 kilo of returns. I do hope that this helps for future reference. Way way too long for a delivery to arrive when ordered for delivery to store, sadly wont use again. No expectation set on how long it would take but took about 10 days ridiculous just not what you expect now.

Thank you for your review. We do have 3 delivery options, free delivery which can take from 2 to 5 working days to dispatch, express delivery which is a maximum of 3 working days to dispatch, or next day, but the item has to be wihin our warehouse to do this. On this occasion, we did not have the item in our warehouse, however we were awaiting a delivery for the shoes to come to us from one of our other stores from their warehouse. This was delayed and we apologise sincerely that the time of your order being dispatched was longer than usual. I ordered size 36 and they sent size 42. I ordered black and they sent beige coloured shoes. They sent a refund.

I won’t order from this company again as unlike any other decent company that I make online purchases from: they do not include a returns pre paid sticker, which given the circumstances of online shopping is helpful, especially shoes that require to be tried on with variations in sizing being an issue! I rate online retailers by the ease of return policy and this fall very short of customer expectations.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you feel that not having free returns woud stop you from ordering from us again. Orders over £40 are shipped to customers with free postage and we have many shops around the Country where you can take shoes back to if you have one near to you. We also offer 365 days for full refund if the items are unworn. You can return items to us using second class post which is around £2.85, and pop to your local post office, so long as your order number is inside the package so we know who to refund, we will process all refunds within 3 working days. Alternatively you can use any courier of your choice, or use the link on our website for Collect + which allows up to 10 kilo in weight to be returned for the low cost of £4.49. The reason I’m only giving one star is because when I received my shoes it was obvious that these were someone else’s returns. It appears their quality control failed on this occasion. When I contacted Charles Clinkard with photographs to point this out, there was no acknowledgement. I appreciate people do return goods but I would expect them to be checked and repackaged before selling to another customer

I ordered Caprice Trainers, size 6. The trainers arrived - a size 6 box with size 6.5 inside. The trainers were too big obviously. Because Charles Clinkard does not offer free returns I had to call to organise for them to send me a pre-paid label to send them back. The label took a week to get to me! The trainer size should have been checked prior to dispatch, the label should have been sent overnight. All in all buying from Charles Clinkard has been a very disappointing experience. I am unlikely to buy online again.

The pre paid label was posted out to you and we are sorry that it took several days to arrive. We took a note of the tracking number and can see that your return was delivered to us today. Rather than having you wait until it is processed, (which can take up to a maximum of 3 days) I have refunded you today. I recently ordered a pair of sandals and matching handbag The package was sent in a plastic postage pouch with no protection The shoes were boxed and dented, fortunately the sandals weren’t damaged, however the handbag was in no protective packaging at all, and so had some minor scratches in the leather due to transit I wrote to customer service who simply acknowledged my feedback This is very poor when you consider the price paid, and comparative sites I’ve used usually box matching handbags to protect the leather eg Van Dal Overall very disappointing service!

I ordered a size 4 which is my size which I have had for about 2weeks they have gone really big but I was desperate for these to wear as I needed the arch support as I am having trouble walking as I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis I could really do with a size 3 £62 is a lot to leave in the wardrobe . I would rate you 10 if I could change them ??

We recommend wearing your purchase in the house, to ensure they're the correct fit. The exception to this is if you think they have a manufacturing fault. Decided what I liked online so went to Meadowhall to buy. Hadn’t got a 9 and would I like to try a 10. No I wouldn’t so frustrated walked away with shop asst shouting after me to buy from them. Embarrassing and will never use them again. Went to Amazon instead and shoes posted out. Pointless even going to Meadowhall these days what’s going on?

You can check the stock for stores on our website by selecting your colour and size, a box will then become available to check stock in stores, this is accurate within 30 minutes. Please accept our apologies for not having the size your required, unfortunately we can only stock so many per store and they may have been sold out in the size 9. Very disappointed, will never order online from them ever again! My wife ordered matching shoes and bag worth £150, when they arrived the quality of finish in the shoes wasn't up to standard so we sent both items back .... it cost us £9 to return them through the Post Office in order to track and insure delivery! Most online business, the return is free..... it's Clinkards policy that customer pays, not worth the risk in my view

I’m sorry to hear you are disappointed with our returns policy, We aim to be as transparent as possible with the cost of the return being paid for by the customer as we offer free delivery on orders over £40. We do supply information on how to return your parcel at a lower price than the one paid, we also provide a collect + label from a link on our website where you can return 10Kgs for £4.49. If a product is received and the finish is not up to the standard expected, you can contact us through the telephone, email or live chat and we will be happy to investigate that for you. My original pair of shoes split so a replacement pair was offered which I accepted. This process was a shambles, even though I was offered a replacement pair I received a refund. The price had increased, so a new pair was going to be more expensive. I didnt think I should pay more for the same item through no fault of my own. It took at least 5 e-mails and 3-4 weeks before the issue was settled and another pair received. The leather on each of the replacement shoes were different but I didnt have the energy to go through another saga.I do not have any confidence with their Customer Service Dept. I tried using Charles Clinkard again, which was a mistake, the sandals I ordered arrived, you could tell they had previously been worn, the soles were dirty and the sides of the sandals were all scuffed. I have decided not to use Charles Clinkard again, I now wonder if their shoes are 2nds and imperfect?

I recently purchased a pair of shoes called Splash black croc.Thet are from the Gabor range. Charles Clinkard notified me that they were back in stock. When they arrived I noticed that they had been tried on by another customer as the back has been walked on. I decided to keep them only as I liked the style,but am not happy with Charles Clinkard assuming that this would acceptable as opposed to providing me with a pair that had not been tried on.

I have lots of products from you and these were a huge disappointment. Berry Punch Detail Shoies - in white I would have returned them but I wore them outside. They are granny shoes – no other ways of putting it – sorry I had a similar design and this is the first time when I order online. Not everyone has wide feet – we just want comfy shoes that look pretty. They are comfy but they are very different to what I had before from you. I am very very disappointed.

I can confirm the shoes you purchased are a size UK D which is classed as a wide fit, I’m sorry if this fitting is not correct for you. The box of the shoes was destroyed.It took one month to receive it. The courier never came, I was searching for the shoes at the courier.

There is nothing wrong with the shoes, they are lovely. They are too big and they are the smallest. I rang up and they are the smallest which is a shame because I'm not that small. Please make a proper size 3. Thank you

Unfortunately although I informed you I was on holiday for 2 weeks, the shoes I bought for the holiday arrived the day after I left. So now I don’t know if they fit and when I return I will be over the 14days when they can be returned.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your order did not arrive in time for your holiday. I can see from your order that you opted for standard delivery which means a delivery within 6 working days. We do have other options such as express delivery which would ensure that you have your order within 4 working days, or even next day delivery, but these options are chargable. Our returns policy is not just 14 days, you can return so long as unworn for up to 365 days, so you have a full year. You can either post the item back, or return to a Charles Clinkard store. My daughter bought me a pair of your Grecian slippers, she had to return them to your shop as there was a fault with them, she was given a refund. I then purchased a replacement pair online,O/No 2872876,,when they arrived I saw that a staple had been removed from the sole of one of the slippers.I complained to your office and was asked to return them and they would replace them.This I did only to find the replacement had exactly the same fault.Another phone call to you,and I was assured that the stock would be checked and another pair would be sent.Once again the same fault.Today I received the 4th pair with the same fault,and it was obvious that some one had roughened up the sole of the slipper to disguise the fault. I would not have expected this standard of service or quality of goods from a firm of your long standing.I await your reply.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with regard to the slippers. As mentioned via your contact with us, the manufacturer advises that this mark is part of the manufacturing process and in no way is detrimental to the slippers. We did look at many pairs of slippers and found a pair with no holes which was sent to you. I apologise if you are not happy with these, we will issue a full refund once the slippers are returned. We apologise sincerely for you disappointment, it may be that this style is one that is not suitable for you as we cannot guarantee that any future orders would not have these manufacturing marks in them. Thank you for your review. DPD tried to deliver on 25th May, again on 26th May, again 30th May, again 31st May, and a final attempt on 1st June. I can see that you have left an instruction each time for them to leave in a safe place, so I apologise that the courier did not act upon this.
