Unfortunately the shoes have not arrived yet!!! They are not now expected until the 28th. I ordered them on the 16th. that's 12 days and they might not even arrive then Your delivery company has let both you and me down Derek Herbert

We paid extra for next day delivery. Next day should mean you get the order the following day. Especially true these days when DPD and the like do exactly that- even on a Sunday. I suppose we should have guessed it was never going to be achieved when they opt for Royal Mail , despite knowing of the strikes and backlogs. Please use DPD if you want good reviews

Thank you for your review. We do use DPD and Royal Mail, however our next day service does state Next day delivery is a guaranteed next working day service for orders placed before 5pm. This does not include the weekends. I am sorry to hear that you were expecting your order on the Saturday, Royal Mail often deliver on a Saturday for us, but we do not have a contract with DPD for a weekend delivery service. So I hate when these automated emails come out when I actually haven't got my item and although they were due to be delivered a week ago and there is no tracking change from last Monday apparently thy are not lost.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry for the delay of the delivery of your order. I have checked the tracking on DPD and it has updated today to say that it is confirmed at depot and consigned for the onward journey. On Monday I will check that this has moved forward again and get in touch with DPD if not. Unfortunately we do not have our own courier and we have to use an external courier, we are aware that there are delays this year due to industrial actions, and this has had a knock on effect with other couriers too. Unfortunately the box containing the items was squashed and so cannot be given as the Christmas gift I had planned.The hat is fine to give but the cup also was slightly marked so can not give as a gift as intended.I would have been better trying to source the items locally.Disappointing!

Despite being under huge pressure at this time year the couriers should always take care of the parcels that have been sent. We will raise this example to improve delivery performance in future. Boots arrived. Box badly damaged. As this was a present contacted store at meadowhall and explained these were a Xmas present. After a 28 mile round trip still disappointed. The box in the shop had sellotape on 2 corners holding the box together. I have now bought a gift box.

Ordered a nice pair of boots for delivery to Ireland. After a week, the order was automatically cancelled and a refund initiated (not by me!). When I called (international call) the Clinkard support number, a very helpful and polite call service agent advised me that he was unfortunately unable to provide any explanation as to why the goods could not be delivered. Probably a good idea to remove products from the web portal where they can be ordered but cannot be delivered. Doh!

In trying to select some mens boots, most images do not include a 45 degree angled view from above, except from Crocs for some reason, which makes it off-putting to decide; so I tend to go to a Different Site. Not good, no?

With regards to returns, you can take back to any Charles Clinkard store, we do deliver free of charge, but if a customer wishes to return by post, we ask if they can cover the cost. We do have a link on our website to collect + where for £4.49 you can send back up to 10 kilos for this one low price. I do hope that this helps for future reference. Charged for delivery when website stated free over £40. Sent email,no response. Very disappointed,probably won't order again from Clinkardds

Thank you for your review. Our delivery is free for orders over £40, but on your order an express service option was chosen. This would incurr postage costs and ensure that your order is dispatched in a maximum of 3 working days and then an overnight courier service used. Brilliant customer service buying shoes for our 5 year old daughter, very friendly & knowledgeable staff - tried on some different shoes to find the right pair in less than 10 minutes. Then paying for the shoes took longer than 10 minutes because there were 2 customers in front of us but only one till in the Summertown (Oxford) shop. Could Charles Clinkard make the small investment in a second till so that customers are not subjected to such long waiting times - hate to think how long it would take to checkout if the shop was really busy. Surely a second till would make life easier for your staff too, and less likely to experience annoyed and angry customers.

Liked that pair of slippers. Oh! No size 4's Liked this pair. No size 4's What about this pair, in grey? Oh! No grey. And that's the first 3 pairs I went for! I've just wasted about 30mins searching around for a present, in what looks like 6 pages of stock. I don't think so. Very disappointed.

If you use the filters on the website, it allows you to put in colour, size etc and will take out anything that is not in stock and show the items that are. The sale's assistant didn't explain entire refund policy even though I mentioned my health issues. I do appreciate that store manager accepted return, but she actually made me feel like I was a criminal. I don't think I will come back to this store.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you have had a problem when you were returning an item to store. We accept returns so long as unworn for up to 365 days. As long as you have proof of purchase from a Charles Clinkard store, or from Gabor, then there should not be an issue. In this case you had an order number, so this is proof of purchase. One of the shoes l bought is used, there’s a colour difference also the number did not fit. I sent it to return the product.

The delivery and packing I cannot fault. However the boots ordered were supposed to be an H width. I have fairly wide feet ,and these were very tight. So I was very disappointed as the boots were nice. Returned straight away. I feel they were wrongly represented.

Your findings will help others when they are browsing. Getting a half size bigger can help increase the area within the boots for more comfort, this does not work for everyone, but many customers find this to be the perfect solutiion. Dpd who they use to deliver parcel delivered mine to someone in a car at another address . I had paid express delivery. I not only had to track my own parcel down I didn’t receive it when I was supposed to. Charles Clinkard said they would refund me the postage charge . Although my item is ok and I shall keep Ian very reluctant to buy from them again . In fact I won’t buy anything that is delivered by DPd again. Also the other item that I ordered I am returning hopefully the postage won’t be expensive.

Thank you for your review, I am sorry to hear that you had a problem with DPD, we can use Royal Mail also so if you do order in the future, let us know the order number and we can add this for you. Returns can be returned to store or postal service of your choice. There is a link for £4.49 on our website to collect+ but this covers up to 10 kilos so you may find a cheaper service elsewhere. If you send via the Post Office, second class post to keep costs down, this would be the cheapest way. You can pay extra for insurance and tracking if you wish. I have used Charles Clinkard on several occasions to buy my favourite slippers. I have found them to be a very reliable company. However my latest experience left a sour note. I had to return a pair of shoes and postage cost me over £6 so I'm afraid I won't be using this company again.

Thank you for your review. You can take returns to any Charles Clinkard store or return by post. A pair of slippers second class post with Royal Mail is around £2.85 so I am sorry to hear that you have paid more than this. You can even add extra tracking for just 80p more. We also have a link on our website that covers up to 10 kilo of returns for just £4.49. I hope that this helps for if you do decide to order again in the future. Whereas your products might be fine, your mail order policy of having to pay for returns is not acceptable. How is one meant to try on your shoes without having them sent and if they don't fit how wrong is it that one is forced to pay several pounds to return? Your margins of profit are well able to carry this relatively small cost especially if a deal is made with certain carriers. I purchased a pair of your shoes online via one of your retailers. They fitted perfectly however within the parcel was a returns pre-paid label should I have wished to return. If one of your customers can offer free returns, so can you! I shall not be using your website again.

Thank you for your review. We pay for postage to customers for orders over £40. As we do not have our own delivery service, we pay for the courer service for that delivery. We do as advised in our terms and conditions and in our returns information, ask customers to cover the cost of returns. There is a link on our webite under the returns section where you can purchase a collect+ label for £4.49. This would allow you to return up to 10 kilo (so would cover several pairs of shoes) for this one low cost, or you can take your order back to any Charles Clinkard store. You do have up to one year to do this, so long as the item is unworn. We are sorry that you are disappointed, we do review or policies from time to time and take customer comments into consideration.
