Your online ordering is bureaucratic, complicated and unnecessary. Why does a customer need to “register” and why do you need to “date of birth “ when buying a pair of slippers? This is ridiculous! Your product is fine.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We ask customers to register an account so all the details are easily accessible for you to check previous orders and place new ones. Your date of birth is not required information. However, as part of our mailing list this means we are able to offer discounts during birthday months. No problem with Charles Clinkard itself, however you need to change your delivery company. Ordered 2 pair of Gabors which should fit as they are my ‘goto’ brand. However as I still haven’t received them I can’t comment. Despatched very quickly, however DPD delivery to my local click & collect is appalling, first it was Sunday, then Monday, now Tuesday so may be Wednesday then, if I’m lucky.

Sandals were very wide and a huge gap !!!! Had to return I did check they were not a wide fit. I had a £7 reward voucher which I used sadly lost this !!! Out of pocket as I had to pay for the return!!!! Not happy!!

Thank you for leaving your feedback. I am sorry to hear the sandals you purchased did not fit you. They are a standard fit. The Reward Voucher £7.00 which you had used to purchase the sandals has been returned to you. This has been placed in what we call an E-Wallet. This is available to use online or in store for a future purchase with us. We do ask our customers to pay for their returns which is our policy. We have now introduced a returns label for £3.20 which is on our site to use. It provides a Royal Mail QR Code, or you can print the label, and then take the parcel to your local post office. Charles Clinkard service was good, but the Remonte Oban Womens Trainers in a 'wide' fitting (G) were too narrow. The colour (Baltic) and look was lovely but it was not a wide fit compared to a well-known high street shoe shop and others where an E is wide. These were listed as G fitting, but were a pretty standard fit for me so too tight and no good.

We do offer a tracked return label on our website for £3.20 with Royal Mail, or you can take them back to any Charles Clinkard store free of charge. I hope that this helps for future reference. Love the weight of the boots and they are very comfortable. However this is the second pair of Rieker boots i have had and neither pair have lasted. I don't even wear them on a daily basis only occasionally.

Charles Clinkard in York ordered the sandals for me as they had none in my size. I was on holiday in York and not due to go back home in Essex for another four days, but was assured by the person who served me, and who placed the order, that the order wouldn't be delivered until the following week. Two days later I received an email informing me the order was on it's way but I was given the option of changing the day of delivery. This I did, and gave a date when I knew I would be home. I had an email confirming the change and stating the new delivery date. I was very pleased with this service until I arrived home only to find a note put through my door saying they had tried to deliver and as I wasn't there had left it with a neighbour. I had an email saying the parcel had been delivered to me (stating my name) which it hadn't, and showed a photo taken of the parcel outside someone else's front door, not mine. Luckily all was well and my neighbour had the parcel, but what is the point of being given the chance of changing a delivery date and it being ignored?

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that this has happened, our free standard delivery is 2 to 5 working days to dispatch, if the store had let us know, we would have delayed the dispatch. With regard to the courier, we use an extrenal service such as DPD or Royal Mail. We were unaware of you changing the date with them and are sorry to hear of your experience. Lovely white leather sandals , unfortunately back strap continually slips down so I can’t walk in them.

Thank you for your review. If you would like to review the item itself, if you click onto the shoe bought you can leave a review where you can let others see when they are browsing. You can buy anti slip heel strap inserts that stop the strap falling, you can find these in most good shoe shops and you may find that this solves your problem. Kind regards. I ordered a pair of JANA floral trainers for my wife's birthday. All was going well, received an email to let me know that they had been "dispatched" from the warehouse and were with the delivery courier. I awaited the email from the delivery company with a tracking number but instead I received another email from yourselves to let me know that, after the trainers had been "dispatched" from your warehouse, you discovered a slight colour difference in one of the trainers and you felt that you couldn't send me a defective product and you cancelled the order. But the trainers were already on the way to me and with the delivery courier. How can this be true? My theory is that you never had the trainers in stock in the size I ordered and you made up the story of a discoloration to one of the trainers. A bit of honesty goes a long way with customers and sending out an email telling someone the item has been dispatched and then a day or so after that sending another email saying you've just checked the item, kind of sets alarm bells ringing. Sorry for the long review but I just wanted to be honest with you.

Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry that we had to cancel your order. The reason we gave you I can confirm was completely genuine. To explain further, our system notifies you of dispatch when your order has been processed & the address label is printed. As your order was due to be gift wrapped, this would have been the next step, and this is when the defect was discovered. I am sorry for any confusion or disappointment caused. Transaction and delivery was prompt and hassle free, but unfortunately the shoes I ordered for my daughter arrived faulty. I’m currently in the process of returning them as a result.

Not the fault of Charles Clinkard but ordered 2 pairs of shoes of the same type bought previously but neither fit. Had 5 pairs of this particular shoe in the past but decided on the same shoe in a different colour...one was too big, the other too small and far too tight......they are supposed to be wide fit. Having to pay to return these shoes is very annoying. A warning should be put on the website that these shoes do not correspond with the same shoe in a different colour way.

Bought a pair of shoes for my girlfriend's birthday, arrived on time but marked, ordered another pair was told they would be checked but was marked , in the end got my money back , never ordering again !

The process of buying from Charles Clinkard was good but I am not happy with your return system. I bought two pairs of shoes online. They were easy to order and arrived within a reasonable time. However, one pair didn’t fit and had to be returned. I did this via the Post Office with tracked delivery (as suggested by yourselves) which cost £10. That made the pair of shoes I bought very expensive and I could have got them cheaper elsewhere so I will not be buying from Charles Clinkard again. Other shops I buy from online, either offer free returns or charge a standard amount e.g. £3 which is deducted from the refund. Perhaps you could offer something similar?

Thank you for your feedback. With the Post Office, we recommend a 2nd class tracked service. They may advise higher prices dependant on the weight and value of your order. On the returns page of our website, we have the option to purchase a Yodel label online for £4.49 to take to a drop off point. I have spent over a £1,000 since I started shopping with Charles Clinkard and for the first time ever I had to return a pair of trainers which didn't fit. For the priviledge of doing this it cost me £9.95 which is an obscene amount of money for a return. I will in future use another vendor.

Sadly instead of an adult 5 pair of crocs we got a teeny baby pair. A v disappointed grandson as his brother’s arrived ok. Still awaiting a replacement adult 5 and hoping they arrive soon as it’s half term.

So disappointed! I thought CC would be my go-to for footwear, but my latest odyssey has been a fiasco (although there is a moderately happy ending). 1. The descriptions were wrong for some Paul Green sandals, and for Hush Puppies boots. 2. The returns link went to a page 404 error 3. None of the shoes/boots fitted even though I'd hedged my bets, ordering a range from 38 to 6.5. 4. Two x size 6 Hush Puppies: one pair too small, the other pair too big. How can that happen?! 5. Returns are not free. This is a problem when the size guide is (a) not shown in cm, or (b) if shown, unclear whether the cm's refer to my foot or the shoe. 6. The happy ending: CC have agreed to cover postage - but only, it seems, because of the faulty descriptions; not because of the sizing fiasco. Conclusion: Back to bricks and mortar I go. Unless there's software that enables the customer to upload a tracing of their feet and can predict a good fit...?

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. I'm sorry to hear the footwear you purchased didn't fit. Unfortunately, it's not possible to provide sizes in exact measurements at the moment. Different methods of measuring shoes, variations in manufacturing processes, and differing allowances even within the same sizing system could lead to inconsistencies. As suggested, normally we're unable to cover the cost of returning items. However, on this occasion, we were happy to do so due to the item descriptions not being accurate. I can see my colleague who you spoke with in customer services addressed the issues with our tech team and are now resolved. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
